Putting address in their signature isn't form of begging, but maybe they want to let know that their main bitcoin address and he can use it to prove his/her identitiy Roll Eyes
Also, it works well to manage user payment in small amount.

I dunno if some members gave bitcoins today, I think, Its very rare today. Seeing other members sharing their strategy, knowledge sharing earnings sites, giving free scripts and then asking tip to their btc-address. That's one. But this forum has many ways how to earn bitcoins, Just visit the marketplace and go to services. You don't need to beg,  Explore to learn and earn more.

It's hardly begging unless you explicitly ask for donations to be considered. I had a few tips in the past but not for a very long time and I think it's probably rare that people do it any more, but you certainly are even less likely to recieve anything if you don't have an address posted.

Some people now I know use it for security/transparency reasons meaning "I won't ever ask you to send me a payment to any address other than my signature/profile"

5-6 years ago, it was quite common to receive tips for a helpful post.  I haven't gotten one in probably over a year, so I'd say it is more rare these days.
Back in the days you mentioned people were really into discussing things and helping out each other with a genuine state of mind. Good old days as some like to say.

If I browse through very old threads, a huge difference (compared to what is the case today) in posting style and quality becomes obviously visible.

Nowadays the majority of the people get their main posting motive from the financial benefit that is tied to their posts (referring to sig campaign participants).

People aren't here anymore just to learn something and pass through their knowledge. Today it's the signature campaigns that dictate this forum.

People just look at thread titles and start writing without even looking at what OP or others are stating. Helpful posts are barely getting any attention this way.

Yeah people were a lot more generous in the early days when Bitcoin was considered "funny money".

There were also a lot of Funny Money before ages of Liberty Reserve, PerfectMoney, Egopay, SolidTrustPay  Grin Grin

I've had a few tips from people because of my posts, but they are extremely few and far between. I wouldn't expect to recieve a great deal of BTC in tips for your posts.
However, if you run services like Escrow, you may recieve more to your tipping address.

Why don't you try and see if there is any one will give you some tips wearing it. If you share some helping information on this forum I think it's really possible some one will give you.
