do you really identify with a club that you have been supporting for years and perhaps also attend the home and away games (before the corona pandemic)?
or are you generally just football fans who only watch interesting league games or european/world championships?
in my case, i've been a very big supporter of the club werder bremen since ~1987. in the successful years, i was able to experience some ucl-games live in the weserstadion and, for example, see L. Messi live in his young years at fc barcelona. i was also able to see D. Maradona play football live when he visited bremen with his ssc napoli in 1989 and lost 1-5.
the last positive experience i had live in the stadium was the dfp-cup final 2004 in berlin, which bremen won 3-2 against alemania aachen.
unfortunately, werder is no longer successful and has been playing for the remainder of the 1.bundesliga for several seasons
