That is the most common reason behind blocked/suspended accounts, mostly Xapo and Coinbase have this problem.
Did you recover your account's balance? They freeze your account but let you withdraw, right?

That is the bad things in online wallets that is why most of the people are suggesting for to use desktop wallets for bitcoin. Some of the online wallets freeze the accounts along with funds and some may allow to withdraw the funds and lock the account like xapo which allow the members to withdraw the funds and after that they delete the account.

Coinbase is an exchange company so expect some restrictions like that, blockchain on the other hand is purely a web wallet. Also they are dealing with buy and sell bitcoin options aside from other services they are offering. Basically they are an active company performing what a company must supposed to do invloving money. How can they faced the laws they are under now if they will not have at least some information of their clients. About the blocking issue, they really told you that your account was blocked because you deposited from a casino?

But you know if that kind of thing is really out of your line then it's fine if you will not use it anymore.

The best wallet till now i am using blockchain.info, till now i never faced any problem with it now at present they provide lot more security to people who are using blockchain.info. Even when ever there is a price change in the market it will automatically updates in back office.

That problem is not because of blockchain.info but sometimes the crowd of transactions are too much and then for the confirmations which happen at that time take some more time. By the way blockchain automatically select the suitable fees for the transaction to boost up the transaction.

I ever sent bitcoin with wallet blockchain.info, the time to get a confirmation long, almost 2 hours I can 1 confirmation and 7 hours to get 4 confirmation. I was worried, but finally relief as well.

Yeah I know that internet is full of the complaints against xapo but there is no any complaint which claim that xapo has blocked their account for the usage of it for gambling. The complaints are only of the case that they ask documents and lock the accounts without any reason.

You cant do anything about it because coinbase is somehow following some rules by the government and using it on gambling is not really advisable because you are violation their ToS and they would surely block or freeze your account.For now,i don't have any problems regarding on my online wallet which is blockchain.info and the one thing that I could complain sometimes is the transaction confirmations times.

I don't know why coinbase follows this kind of policy. Recently I read a very good article where coinbase tracking user funds if they spend their coins in gambling and adult sites even though they reselling in other exchanges and may be bans them. These are possibilities of issues that can happen, but did one of those items already happened to you? Did you already have any issue with an online wallet?

Because risks there are everywhere, we are under risks everytime, but I can tell you even being in risk I never had any of those problems. The worse thing can happen is a hacker attack, this is irreversible, but if you are using a legit service with guarantees, their support will help you on others difficulties.

Even if your account gets closed by coinbase, you can still withdraw your funds from it for the last time and then you won't be able to login again or use that address ever after.
The problem with blockchain is that even if you are the owner of the keys, still you cannot sign a message. Earlier version of blockchain had this feature afaik.

You are right that blokchain wallet is good option to use it for gambling sites. But it's not totally anonymous wallet, they requires user email to create account. But good thing that they never asks to send your ID or driver license.

Blockchain.info is OK, despite the inconvenience they introduced recently with a new interface version and transition to HD wallet system.

Still far much better than Coin~~base~~nonsense, where your cryptocurrency freedom is basically gone just because of US regulations (I specially don't care about these).

Anyway, consider using an offline wallet.

Even physical wallets can be insecure if your pc or phone is infected with a virus. There are ways to lose you coins no matter if it's a physical or online wallet and hence it's recommended to use over 3-4 wallets and not store all your coins in one wallet. First of there is a great chance that the service might close, declare bankruptcy or steal your coins if they get so much. If you use those wallets on your PC, Phone or hardware wallets, it's much much more secure and you have some awesome features like signing messages.

The security features are seeming to you as weakness.
Clearing history/cookies will be similar to logging from new computer then you must pass verification process.
Identifiers are good as it is too hard to remember them unlike usernames or email IDs. Saving identifiers securely for ever must be one of our responsibility.

As a web wallet I use blockchain wallet. It's easy with a good interface and I have used it. But, there are things like as to sign a message that are missing. Moreover I can't understand the reasons people who own it to change so frequently their software and omit 'processes' that were working smoothly, previous versions, in the past. For example in last version there is no way to export the private key from an address.

i am using two different online wallet which is coins.ph and blockchain.info wallet and yet i don't have any problem with these wallets but i think coins.ph is not tolerating any transactions from gambling same as coinbase and there are few users who got banned because of that. by the way why don't you try blockchain wallet it seems they are not restricting their users from gambling.

The same thing as mine. I don't have problems with my blockchain.info wallet and I can say that it is becoming convenient as I use it everytime.

I just don't like its upgrade also because it is now automatically deducting transaction fees but still that is fine with me.

And regarding its confirmation I can say that I am satisfied with them and don't experience any problem to them.

Is it by force that you must use coinbase wallet ? There are many good wallet providers out there that allow you to spend your bitcoin the way you wanted. I was wondering why you too cannot do without gambling, esentially, coinbase is just doing it at their level best to stop people from doing what will make them commit suicide if they lose their hard earned money.

What a dumb concern you got there. Coinbase is exchange site and a registered company so it's a must if they will restrict those gambling transactions over them. Besides that, I see no inconvenient part if they have some terms about gambling. It's your problem anymore about that gambling.

If you really care for your gambling interest then there is lots of other web wallets around which doesn't have the same restrictions.

I don't have any because it's been almost 3 years now (2.6 years to be exact) that I don't use them.

Yet I hear a lot of stories of blockchain.info wallets getting hacked, coinbase and xapo accounts getting banned or closed without real reasons behind them and lot of this sh it happening with web online wallets.

I think you get the picture now why they are to be avoided or at least to be left with very minimal amount of bitcoin.

I use coinbase more than a year and until now never got freezed. Online wallet that I ever got problem is xapo, I'm not got sms verification code for sign I tried for call also not received.

I am currently using coinbase.com as a bitcoin wallet for myself and i find it a little bit inconvenient because Coinbase's system try to prevent people from gambling. They can block our account if we gamble too much. If i had a chance to redesign coinbase, i would remove this function forever

i also have the same condition .
but still i have another problem after gambling .
i am using blockchain but different adress has separate transactions charge . i am thinking to recover this problem .

That must right point as blockchain.info allows me to extract my privatekeys I will be having all the functionalities for my same bitcoin address wherever I want by importing my privatekeys. I have a problem with my xapo wallet. It doesn't load with slow connections anymore (it used to load fast earlier even with my slow internet connection) nor does its app send me a verification code for login purposes. Coinbase works well but sometimes due to blockchain delays, the transactions do not even appear on the network which sometimes is a concern for me while trading.

I have tried to opening account on coinbase, unfortunately this service is not support my country and not all of countries be supported by coinbase, should coinbase try to give chance for other countries and it will make their service become more growing, it is my big problem when use coinbase and i don't like it.

You won't change Coinbase, but you can choose a better wallet for yourself. Coinbase should only be used to purchase coins, not to store them.
And it is not like you have no choice and must use Coinbase or something. If you insist on using online wallet the only serious choice is blockchain.info.
I never heard of any case where blockchain.info closed/suspended/froze account of anyone for using Bitcoins for gambling or any similar activity.

I was heard it months ago that its one of the problem of coinbase user to those who use coinbase wallet address in receiving bitcoin from any gambling site. I used this service months ago but I leave it when I heard so many complaints about closing there accounts.from coinbase and now I'm currently using mycelium and coins.ph but I never faced any problem with it.

I'm using blockchain.info to deal with low ammounts because it's not recommended to use with a lot of money... I saw the website offline maybe 2 or 3 times but they come back fast. I have nothing to complain about. And I never used coinbase and will never use after reading this thread.

Yep, sending and receiving funds from gambling sites is strictly against coinbase TOS. This would quickly cause your account to be frozen.

If you're so fixed on using web wallets then, As others have suggested, blockchain.info does not restrict sending and receiving from casino sites.But they do have fees.

If you are, however, looking for one that does not have fees like coinbase, xapo is another option. AFAIK, they also do not restrict use with casino sites. They pay for the fees, same as coinbase.
But, they usually require verification and also, do read their TOS since they're pretty well known for freezing accounts.

If you don't want to go through all these, there are the better options like desktop wallets or mycelium for mobile. You have complete control of your keys. You do pay your own transaction fees of course.

Blockchain.info is down at times, and their new interface is pretty bad. I've switched to Electrum now because of it, so yes I have problems with my online wallet. If you want to use coinbase and gamble, use Coinbase -> Blockchain.info address -> Gambling site.

It is not a function, it is just their policy. When you are not comfortable with a service, all the options you will be having must be simply quitting them. Instead of getting locked with your funds, quitting well in advance would be bit wiser.

That's the same as coins.ph. They also have a policy that they can block your account if the funds came from a gambling site. It's really inconvenient because you should be able to use your money no matter how you want it. Anyway, you can always put your money in blockchain first and then transfer it into your coinbase wallet so the sender address wouldn't be the gambling site's.

it is not a random function that you can add or remove as you please! when you run a business or a service in a country you have to still follow the laws of that country and since coinbase is located in US they have to abide by law and the law there says you are not allowed to gamble online or something like that .

besides you shouldn't even be using coinbase as a "wallet" in the first place even if they let you gamble.

As you said, my coinbase account was banned and blocked because i withdraw few satoshis from gambling sites. I didn't knew that before. That were the newbie days. Now, I would recommend using only desktop wallets instead of some other third party wallets. Another problem with coinbase is that you are not the owner of your addresses' private key !
I would recommend desktop wallets like electrum, etc.

You may choose another giant for online wallet providing services : Xapo. I believe they will not bother like where you are spending your bitcoins. But they in recent times enforces the verification services more strictly. Once you cross $3000 over all transactions with them you need to submit them your verification documents to continue with them.

I don't gamble and I don't use coinbase wallet so I don't have these problems. But I know that some wallets and exchangers don't support gambling so you might have problems.
I use blockchain and mycelium wallet and I don't think they have such restrictions. So maybe that you open another wallet.

Coinbase have a right to deny accepting bitcoins fro gambling since I think it is only because tey are complying to their countrys' rule.
Use xapo or blockchain instead if you want a web wallet. If you want complete freedom and access to your wallet use electrum , multibit or mycelium in mobile. It is more secure.

You cant do anything about it because its against on their ToS. Its not just coinbase but there are wallets still prohibits gambling like circle and coins.ph, these online wallets do prevent people on using it on gambling purposes. If you do gambling then its better to use other wallets like blockchain because they dont have any restrictions regarding on these things.

I heared about it yesterday. It's not a nice feature of your wallet, I suggest you to change to another online wallet, there are some of them.

I use Blockchain.info, it's a good wallet, never had any problem with that and they don't complain if you want to spend your money gambling. No one wallet should complain about it, because Bitcoin was made to be a free and anonymous currency and this wallet is disturbing the freedom ideology of Bitcoin and crypto-currencies.
