sometimes i bookmark some topics or comments on bitcointalk to look at in the future like the
5 BTC faucet topic.
Smart. I had the thread where the first signature campaign got started bookmarked, but I lost it for some reason. And man, that 5
BTC faucet! Just a snippet from one post in that thread:
I got 5 then felt bad so sent you 50 back
Crazy to think that was only ten years ago. 2010 seems like yesterday to me.
Anyway, I don't save old files or anything like that, but there are certain things I hold on to that have personal if not historical significance. I have some
BTC pennies that I got as a giveaway from minerjones as well as some stickers he sent along with them. He also gave away some silver-colored
BTC coins about the size of a silver dollar, and I have those still in their capsules.
I also have a silver skull that belonged to the late Zepher which I bought in the Auctions section. I didn't know him very well, but it's kind of symbolic of the importance this forum has to me and how important good members are to it. And yeah, OP, all that stuff is history in the making--I agree that bitcoin and crypto culture will probably be studied in years to come. I'd love to read the telling of it if a book is ever written.
