Why would I? I am gambler and I'll continue to follow my losses and take 'em back. Kidding aside.

It's a real thing that we have to take breaks whenever we're swamped with losses. Someone who doesn't is actually digging their own grave for that reason.

You don't gamble at all times because we've got limited resources. So for someone who can gamble anytime they wish to, I know that there's got to be some breaks in between before continuing into search of recovery.

Taking a break is always good and it is very necessary but the only people who can actually do that without a second thought are gamblers who is not gambling with the so aim if making profit by force but an investor who is gambling with this aim or motive will find it very difficult to take a break as a matter of fact, the time they are suppose to take a break that is the time they will feel like if they don't continue they have fucked up and sometimes they will be like if they should continue they will make or regain all they have loss which is not certain or true because anything can be or is possible at that point though some people do actually make back all their losses while some will keep on losing.

I know some will make a decision of no for an answer in this kind of situation, because they never wanted to accept defeat, but this is actually not what is it, but a loss of competency in us to win, instead of us to pause, review and check on what is wring and try fix it up before coming for it some other day, some will just be chasing after their losses and the more they do the more the incidence increases as losses upon losses, taking a break therefore is very important, we may by doing so get some vital information we needed to help support the pattern we have been using and get things right, instead of losing on a streak and still none stop.

I believe this is a very important topic that needed to be discuss by gamblers here because our actions dictates our future...

sometimes when we’re on a losing streak, we tend to get more aggressive in trying to recover our losses, but that’s often the reason why our losses grow even bigger, and in some cases, it can even lead to gambling addiction. So, who here actually takes a break after a losing streak? Or do most just keep going despite the losses?

there’s a poll for you to vote on, don’t forget to cast your vote!

A long losing streak can make you become nervous. And this state, you might not be able to coordinate your gambling activities which might lead to more losses. Aggressiveness or loss chasing most times leads to more losses. Taking a break is a very potent way of putting yourself together in order to make sound decisions. It gives gamblers the chance to weigh options and make the right decisions. Although I also face the temptation of becoming aggressive after a long loss, I have learned to take a break which could last for a few hours, days, or months depending on the level of my loss of control.

I will continue at least after my deposit is finished. And will not make another deposit.

I don't usually wait for my deposit to finish before leaving because I might be tempted to deposit more. Immediately I get the urge or motivation to take a break, I would do that immediately to avoid more losses.

Being on streak loosing of a player and fails to mark disciplines of taking a back off would continue to have you loosing streakly as a case of poor calculations without proper investigation to what outcome the game may become before playing it.

So apparently, aggressive gambling manners are subject to dangerous restaurants that is potential to affect our bankrolls or savings.

When you notice that you're losing often in the gambling, you don't need to panic or bet in order to recover from gambling, so from my perspective, I think gambling is all about experience and a personal wisdom, because I know quite well that anytime you planned to recover what you have lost in the gambling is the time that you will lose more, so therefore gambling is a game that I know that with a break it will help you to strategies well

Because when you continue to pushing in gambling when you have already noted that you are losing, I think it's the time that you will lose more, its better to go for a break and rethink and reprogrammed your ways of gambling, that will be more better than trying to recover what you have already lost.

Anyone that's sensible knows that the best time to take a break is when you are having a losing streak, but some prefer to continue Taking risks and losing more money hoping to get back what they have lost... Whenever you lose multiple times it just means you should leave gambling and focus other things.. losing streaks don't last and also winning streaks don't last as well, always learn to take a step back and fight another day..it doesn't mean because you lose today that will make you step back.. Taking a break makes you a responsible gambler but a lot of people fail to accept it.

I have never tried to gamble aggressively after a loss just to recover what I've lost and I don't think I'm going to take a break after losing a betting streak because I always make sure that I gamble will what I can afford to lose and I don't even gamble frequently. The most I can do is to reduce my bankroll during that period

I take a mandatory break because it definitely affects our emotional state, I noticed it in myself. I stop feeling money and continue to place bets and press buttons like a monkey, turning back and remembering this I get scared of what I did. I am not going to repeat this in the future, so turning off the game is always a reasonable decision. And later with fresh brains to start playing again or when we just want more, but this desire should not be furious, but natural and calm, organic. Even if this does not help us win a lot, then reduce the money lost, which is already quite good.

One of the best treatment to gambling stress is taken a break after a certain losses , with this you would be able to start thinking straight so that you won't make Rash decision that you will endup regretting later.

So taken a break is always nice , so that you can gamble without harming yah self emotional or financially.

there is a difference between people who gamble addicted or enjoy entertainment.
people who are addicted to gambling if they experience defeat they will be ambitious until the money that has been lost must be returned, but in the end the money budgeted will exceed the allocation limit until it runs out.
different from people who enjoy entertainment they are ready to lose the amount that has been allocated, if the betting money has run out gamblers who enjoy entertainment they will not be ambitious to chase the lost money. because the principle from the beginning they were only entertainment not looking for money
most gamblers already know the risk of losing their money in defeat. every gambler is also not only looking for pleasure but also aiming for victory in every bet. no one is really happy in defeat.
fun and making money are always debated among gamblers' goals in playing. but I don't think that's the problem related to gamblers getting addicted.
even gamblers who bet to make money, if they have good emotional control will still be able to gamble responsibly. on the other hand, gamblers who are just having fun can also pursue their pleasure when they don't have good self-control. it can also lead to addiction.

stopping to rest first after a series of defeats may provide a limit for gamblers not to continue betting with the bad luck that is on the gambler. it would be better to forget the previous bet and find another activity before returning to betting with a better state of mind.

Sometimes, I feel that I need to take breaks, but since I have budgeted my gambling expenses, I have just gambled it all away because I am confident that it is okay, and that is the amount I am willing to lose. So, the break I am in is quite long, and I am making sure that my money is an extra amount coming from my income source.

So, I am on a break from losing my income until I get my following income.
Yea that might help as well, sticking to your gambling roll. Most time you see some gamblers over gambling even after a huge loss trying to revenge. Setting a gambling roll helps you minimise your risk of taking or using funds that you are not supposed to risk. Addiction can be something strong, when we apply proper risk management and control we just might be able to avoid such losses. Taking a break will help you minimise you funds.

I think it is better to do nothing intermittently. Taking a break between tasks increases focus on the task and creates a confidence to complete the task better. Just as a gambler will lose money while gambling, he will win money at times but if a gambler is losing money by gambling consistently then he must stop at that time. At that time it should be considered that he may be gambling with the wrong strategy because if he had not gambled with the wrong strategy then his money would not have suffered consistently. However, most gamblers make the mistake of not taking a break and instead get more excited at the time and use more money from their capital to gamble in order to win more than the amount they lost. As a result, the more money they later use to gamble, the more money they lose. We must control our emotions. If we can't control our emotions or can't make the right decision, then we forget about the profit by gambling and only pay our losses.

I will continue at least after my deposit is finished. And will not make another deposit. I am not a gambler who bets with large funds, so I will not get pressured or become depressed when I experience a losing streak. So taking a short break must be enough for me to be able to restore my thinking.
The suggestion to stop after a losing streak would indeed be good enough for gamblers. It prevents gamblers from always being provoked to return the losses that have been received. Gambling with such pressure will certainly not get good results.

If i losses in gambling even in the trading, but when i will try to recover aggressively then my losing among is increasing, because if you make aggressive trade or gambling then there are high possibility to make mistake or wrong decision, so your ending could be losses, in my own opinion, when losses continuously in gambling, we should take a break.

I’m reading of the most reponse that they do take break but not me. I only take a break from gambling when I run out of money to gamble with or when I’ve reached the winnings I want. So I don’t stop gambling just because of losing streak I only stop when I’m satisfied with my winnings or have no more money to play. Losing streak won’t stop me—it only makes me want to gamble more as long as I still have money to bet.

I log out and take a break of several days if possible, the time of the break itself depends on the amount of Money I lost and how it affected me mentally.
When I have a losing streak I tend to feel remorse and guilty, Because I could have used such money to meet the necessities of my family (even though, I did not plan to do such a thing with that money), I imagine what I could have bought with the loss.
Last time I lost consecutively I needed to stay away from gambling one week, before I started to feel better and was comfortable enough to log again on a casino and wager some cents.
Because experiences like those, I usually wager less than a dollar at the same time (on games like dices, Plinko, crash or mines) and bet less than fifty dollars at the same time (usually during copa America and world cup)

I do, even though I am not into losing streak, I take a break. And so, when I experience losing streak, I have to stop and that makes sense for someone who's got stressed out by losing. It helps a person to take a break and at least breath some air because it won't help anymore if you chase your losses. That's a huge mistake of many gamblers that we knew when they continue even after several losses. If you're taking care of yourselves, all you have to do is to make sure that your mind is set and free from all the stress that are coming from losses whether they are big or small. Because anytime we can come back and gamble again when we're alright.

I can bet that atleast 40% of the votes in the poll would presumably belong to folks that don't even recall their left from right when they start losing.... It's more of like "clicking the yes button for clicking sake" kind of thing.
Well I guess they'd have to tell us who are the people behind the recent happenings -- the catastrophic deadends of gambling addiction problems that we read about almost everyday on the web?

There's more to it than hitting a poll on BTT -- How irresistible can you become when you're faced with this challenge behind closed doors?? Can y'all be honest to yourselves??
I don't take a break when I'm on a losing streak because I manage my bankroll well.

There can never be a good result from gambling out of the pressure of a losing streak. If you continue gambling without taking a break from gambling after serious losing that burns out your bankroll, the best thing to do is take a break and don't indulge yourself in what some people consider revenge gambling because it will only lead to losing more money, which will make it more difficult to recover what you have lost in the beginning that led you to that mood.

You have the answer to your own question, and the right answer is that taking a break is the most appropriate when we experience consecutive gambling losses, but if you think about how long you take a break is an interesting question to continue because it is a follow-up answer so as not to take the wrong action, there are some people who take a break for only a few hours, even though taking a break from consecutive betting losses is when your mentality and your mind are no longer thinking about returning the money that has been lost in the previous consecutive losses and that's where you are ready to gamble again after taking a break from consecutive losses.

And still, what is a losing streak for you? 3-5 bets is a losing streak or 10 losses in a row is a streak?
to me anything consecutive is a losing streak

if you lose three times in a row then you are in a losing streak but if you lose, you win, then you lose again that is not a losing streak that’s just normal experience while gambling there’s obviously differences as well with streaks it could be a short streak or a long streak

I have to take a break, and the length of time very much depends on the amount of money I've lost. This is very important to protect our well-being; every everytime we lose money, we get frustrated and that frustrations adds up on every losses, The bigger the frustration and bigger the toil to our body and mind.
Its a sign that you are a responsible gambler if you can take a break to avoid mental breakdown.

It is needed for our mental well-being. Otherwise, we will feel different emotions here like disappointment, regret and other negative feelings if you will let yourself dwell in this kind of situation.
If your losing streak is like never-ending. Better pause and call it a day, even if you are still on the negative side. Because you may be adding more losses if you will push thru your luck. Also, consider the funds that you already lost, was it already beyond your allocated budget? Because if you already reached your limits, better assess your situation and decide what you really want to do next.

When I was young, whenever I'm frustrated, I take a break. It can be long or short, depends on my mood, once I'm already fine, I will back to gamble.

But, after so many frustration in gambling and I've learn a lot from it, I no longer need to take a break, because it's normal. If something bad happen, I can accept it and call it a day.

I might need to take a break, only if I gamble too much, for now I only gamble on the range that I can afford to lose.

A losing streak in gambling causes psychological disruption, a temporary break can make the mind clear, reduce stress, compared to having to continue playing when experiencing a losing streak that makes you lose control, often without full awareness of spending all the money, just because you want to restore the previous loss. After refocusing, you can try to analyze the possibility of winning the next game, with a more stable mind of course this will be easier.
Why would a normal person keep gambling after much consecutive losses. Gambling is not easy and we need to understand that gambling is not actually safe for everyone. If you know that gambling has been making you lose consecutively, then it's better to put a stop or take a break. When I keep losses in gambling, I do take a rest so that i don't get addiction because gambling is risky since it involves financial decision. Taking risks has been a norms in gambling and that do not mean that we would keep gambling for as much as we like. Betting has it own disadvantage which is why frequent betting is not that good and precaution need to be applied.

I voted "yes" in the pool because it's not just what I do when faced with a losing streak, but also think it's the absolute right thing for any one to do during such a time.

Now, I want us to actually understand something important, when a gambler is gambling simply for fun and winning is not important, I see no reason to quit gambling at that time since winning wasn't actually important, but enjoying the game is. There are a couple of games I do play at times and I don't bother when I enter a losing streak, the fun i am having is much better, and the lose doesn't trigger any desire to want to win back what I've lost, I simply enjoy the game and i quit playing when my account balance hit 0.

But when gambling for profit, best decision is to quit when hit with a long losing streak.

Taking a break is must thing to do, not only when we are in a losing streak but also in a winning streak as it will help us to keep us on our own control.
When we are in a losing streak, taking a break will avoid us from the greed of trying to chase/recover what we have lost.
On the opposite side, taking a break while we are in a winning streak will avoid us from the greed of "we want more and more" while high possibility it will only make us lose what we have just won.
All in all, taking a break is part of self-control which is a must thing to have by all gamblers if we do not want to jump into the worse case.

I also use small amounts when betting, but when I experience losses in a row, I take a break. Because I know that I act with my emotions in such situations. Whereas I always aim to act using my mind first. But sometimes I can let my emotions get the better of me. But when I realize that, I immediately take a break. But as I said, I use small amounts when I bet. For example, I never bet more than the price of a cup of coffee. That's why I don't regret it easily. Even if I lose in a row, I can sometimes make another bet.

I don't take a break when I'm on a losing streak because I manage my bankroll well. I look at sports betting as just fun and not a source of income. For example, if I decide that each week I'm going to take $10 to bet on 10 games and I lose all 10 games, I don't get sad because I know that next week I'll take $10 again to play. The $10 is already lost money when I decide to use it for sports betting.

Let me first of all speak for myself, if i'm on a losing streak i can take a break and return back after some days or weeks depending on how long i want to stay away from gambling and since i already has a job am doing, i don't find it difficult to stay away from gambling until the desired time i want to resume again. But from a general perspective or what happens in most cases, gamblers don't easily retreat when they are on a losing streak especially those gamblers that gets their income from other sources on a daily basis because they will always have the money to gamble everyday regardless if they win or lose.

It's a very dangerous time when lost and lost. When you repeatedly lose in a game, you feel like you need to take a break, but our brain is so distorted that you can't. You could have saved a lot of money if you could control yourself and stop playing the game.
You know what the problem is for such person? The problem is not about to stop gambling while losing. The problem is that the person think he can make money from gambling. That is what people like that should stop. Gambling should not be a way to make money but a way of passing time with something fun. When they start thinking like that, they will win and not continue to gamble, also they will lose and not continue to gamble for that time which is how gambling should be.

I would like to answer yes and no, because it depends from the games I play and bets I made. If I play dice it is normal to have a losing streak. If I play very low bet to try to test an algorithm, or play with strategy, it is ok to lose. And my answer would be yes, if I place sports bets and lose all of them. And still, what is a losing streak for you? 3-5 bets is a losing streak or 10 losses in a row is a streak?

So, who here actually takes a break after a losing streak? Or do most just keep going despite the losses?
They are gamblers who have been able to have the right approach and responsibility for themselves who can certainly really stop after lost streak because for people who gamble only to prioritize profit and consider gambling as side place to make money will always chase loss until they have no money at all.
But most find it difficult to think that lost streak can bring bigger loss and it is necessary to know that some gamblers have their own beliefs that after lost they can win big if they continue to bet.

Stop or continuing the game is an option, but depends on the budget you currently have. If you still have a balance, then it makes sense to try to continue in the hope of winning the next round, but you should stop and rest if the balance runs out instead of re-depositing. There is nothing to force, if you think stopping for a moment is good, then you should stop.

You are right. If we keep losing money, it is entirely up to me whether I will stop gambling or continue. But I decide to spend a certain amount of money on gambling in a week. And if I lose this amount of money, I retire from gambling for that week. And wait for the next week again. Since I have set a limit on losing money, it is not a cause for concern for me even if I continue to lose money in gambling. But I think it is beneficial to spend small amounts on gambling. The amount of profit is less and the risk is also less.

The problem is, how long should the break last? Maybe some gamblers are taking a 5-minute, 10-minute or a 30-minute break. Does this even count as a break? Maybe several hours or more than one day are a better option to "take a break".
I also think, that the breaks you take between gambling cannot stop you from developing a gambling addiction. You could get addicted even if you take breaks after a losing streak.

Yes, I always stop gambling when losing streak to calm down my minds and not wanting to continue gambling. When we lose streak, there will be a wanting to recover the losses and that mean we will spend more money. That will not guarantee us to win because gambling will not let us win easily. We should understand that and not force ourselves to continue gambling. We should prevent more losses if we care with our money and we can continue gambling in the next days.

If you are experiencing a losing streak, it is a good idea to take a break and try again later when everything is okay, and I think quitting is the choice of most gamblers when they are experiencing a losing streak. And playing with full awareness is also very important in order to be able to restrain yourself from losing in larger amounts and not being controlled by the game, besides playing with full awareness has the potential to make it easy for you to control yourself and not be controlled by the game.

And pampering yourself with time to rest and reflect on the situation when experiencing a losing streak can sometimes help us approach the game so that we can play better, calm, controlled overall with a clearer mind and can enjoy the game in a relaxed way that is sometimes lucky.

Definitely.

This is to avoid making more mistakes because our minds are clouded by revenge after a losing streak and we will not have good choices whenever that happens. I think this should be mandatory for every gambler. We should take some pauses or rest whenever we are in the losing mode. It's not that we are unlucky but there are many things to consider like maybe it's not the right algorithm for us.
Also in my experience, I mostly get a good win after taking a break. Let the system reset and maybe when we come back that when we will get the high multiplier that we badly want.

Yes, always!

I have a monthly spending limit and I have been able to meet this challenge for a long time now.

So, if I am on a losing streak I am forced to stop because I know that after I reach this limit I will not be able to play again until the first of the month.

So imagine how frustrating it would be to lose everything I have dedicated to betting in the first week of the month and later have nothing to bet on that important match that I was sure I could win... that is very bad.

And this is an exercise that I strongly recommend to everyone as a good way to manage your bankroll... set limits and strictly adhere to them, that way you will think seriously before making a high, very risky bet or insisting on recovering losses.

The most correct action is to be calm. If we are unlucky, we need to take a break. In the end, we win even where there is no uncontrolled spending. Understanding this, we take a break and create conditions for future games. Going ahead in those moments when something goes wrong in gambling is like a bull reacting to a red rag.

...sometimes when we’re on a losing streak, we tend to get more aggressive in trying to recover our losses, but that’s often the reason why our losses grow even bigger, and in some cases, it can even lead to gambling addiction. So, who here actually takes a break after a losing streak? Or do most just keep going despite the losses?..

The only thing that can make a player stop betting is the lack of money. In this case, even if he really wants to win back the loss, he will have to take a break. In all other cases, if the player is not bound by additional restrictions, he will continue to play.

There is no doubt, when losing, especially losing streak, I will definitely take a break, I don't know how long it will be, but I need a break for several things:
- Manage my mental and emotion
- Refresh my mind
- Arranging more tactics for the next bets

Well, because what else can I do, luckily I'm not an addict, so I can do this, considering that I can't lose anymore in a larger amount and to avoid addiction due to the desire to get back the money that I lost.

For me personally, honestly, I don't have to experience a losing streak first to stop and take a break, usually just one loss is enough to make me stop and do other activities in my life and of course rationally, that is indeed the best action that should be taken by all gamblers and don't have to wait for a losing streak first because as you said, continuing the game will most likely only increase the amount of losses, especially if your intention is to pursue recovery. But of course this also depends on the goals of the gambler himself, if for example from the start they came to pursue victory, then a losing streak is definitely a situation that will be very difficult to accept, which in most cases often makes gamblers even more reckless and usually they will only stop when they have lost all their money at that time. Stop or continuing the game is an option, but depends on the budget you currently have. If you still have a balance, then it makes sense to try to continue in the hope of winning the next round, but you should stop and rest if the balance runs out instead of re-depositing. There is nothing to force, if you think stopping for a moment is good, then you should stop.
it really does depend though i mean even if you have a balance, but you already lost so much then i don’t think you should continue anymore you should be well aware when you should stop otherwise even if you don’t deposit back again you still lost so much either way

I do, for me, it is a great way to refresh your mind, gather your thoughts and get out of your funk after your losing streak.

for gamblers that get more aggressive in gambling trying to recover their loss, you should really consider taking a break after a losing streak, this isn't just a suggestion from a random person, mental health professionals also suggest that gamblers take a break after a losing streak.

I say this as nicely as I can, but the brain does not work so well when losing. When playing a game and going into a loss, I should bet more and get back the lost money, but this way, it can not be recovered, and most of the time, it seems that more losses are incurred.
This has happened to me many times, no matter how many times I have tried, I have been able to withdraw very little money. Moreover, most of the time, I have remained on the losing side. It is challenging to get out of such losses immediately.

If you're forecasted the consequences for having weak emotions, losing all over again would technically occur and you can't control that behavior even though many people and close friends will warn you. Nobody can change your mindset, no other than but it's you mate. Don't wait until everything went to nothing, because many wealthy and rich people ended up bankrupt because of gambling mis management. That's why you need to learn more lessons from that very big mistakes in order to become strong and empowered during your emotional battle with decision making.

Who wouldn't? They 100% should. Just like how wins can influence our dopamine to play more and spending more, the opposite could be said to have the same thing. While I'm not sure if there's a dopamine increase in losing (I reckon it should have, I'm just not generally familiar with how its released though), it is for a fact that losing a lot continuously influences your mind in a rather negative way. As you've pointed out, being aggressive in trying to break it and break our losses is one. Others might just be playing till you actually break even and while not doing it aggressively, I reckon it's still bad imo.

Not that it helps for most people imo. I mean that's why I set a limit really. So even if I do try to chase a loss, I at least would inevitably stop after a certain point due to having a limited budget which will NOT increase.
Sometimes luck may be on the other side of the risk, this is most definitely the definition of Many gamblers who want to take the next few shots on games that they feel will give them the desired winning, so sometimes is not about the possibility of chasing a particular direction but a way of making sure that they meet all required risk level that can give them the desired winning and leaving the rest for luck, sometimes they get luck to win the next game's but other time the games ended them is a more worst conditions.

Everyone says they will stop but still you can see lots of gamblers keep on gambling when they are losing and do not have any hopes of recovering yet they keep going. Gambling is addictive and when you already have a gambling problem, there are many things that you will be doing and thinking that they are regular things that other gamblers are doing but yet they are not. I will take a break after losing only one game and if I was to keep gambling after taking that break and I lose again, then I will be stopping to gamble for that day. There is no point to keep gambling because I would be doing the opposite of what this thread is advising us against and that is not right. After losing, give it some time and you will be capable of recovering from your losses.

There is the behavior that we should follow and the actions that we actually take. You'll find most normal people, most gamblers, will claim that you should follow proper "bankroll management" which never really happens except for poker players who are serious about building a long term profit in the game. The majority of people playing casinos and sports betting will gradually lose money, because the odds are stacked against them. Casinos are guaranteed to wipe you out if you play for long enough, but bookmakers are pretty accurate with their odds selection too and few people can beat them. Once you understand that, the only management you have control over is when to leave your losing session each day, if you start with a balance of $150 you might decide to walk away at $100 - but it takes incredible willpower to stick to such goals that few people have.

I’m not taking a break, I'm a gambler, and I can’t consider a day a good day without gambling. Just being real here, dude. Some might say we should take a break, but no, if I still have money to gamble, why would I deprive myself of something that truly makes me happy?
Yes man, you are real and this is real talk. We are all different gamblers and have our risk appetite. Yours may be higher than mine which is the reason why you don't take a break. My risk appetite is still growing as someone who don't have a lot of money, I do my best to play it safe when I can

Quote
Real gamblers will understand that feeling. But those who are just testing the waters or not really into it won’t relate as much to those of us who have been doing this consistently for years.
You are speaking from years of experience.  I test the water and take a break. With years to come, my bankroll will be as large so that I will  play to my hearts delight and no losing streak will stop me.

Taking a break is a requirement in a place like gambling. If you can’t control yourself and you just let your emotions decide your future, it will just lead you to more losses or maybe getting straight to addiction. That’s why if you feel that you’re making non-sensical decisions in gambling that is full of risk. Always prepare yourself and remember to take cooldowns because your future is on the line here.

This has been a question of debate on the forum for long. Though alot of persons would share a positive opinion of what they might do, but many would actually still end up being in such situation. Its one of the most difficult things when we gamble. The ability to stop your self and apply self control. Most times we may want to avenge our losses and think that we might get them back. But this actually put us into more losses. Along side addiction comes in play...

Based on the results of the polls, everyone here is a "smart" gambler. As we really take a break when we see that we are not winning and it seems that our choices are that bad. So for me it's the same, I will stop indefinitely if I see that I'm not winning. And I think that is the usual response of our mind, to pause our gambling activity for a certain period of time.

But it depends though, sometimes I will do like 2 days not going on sports betting, but still following the news. Or as far as a month for casino games like slots and dice. The main thing is that you take that small pauses from time to time, to relax a bit and then evaluate your betting strategy before resuming our gambling activity.

The first thing to do before you start up your gambling sessions is to first agree with in yourself to take whatever comes your way as regardless if you win or lose the game, the moment you decide to chase whatever direction that will be the beginning of your issues with your finances since the pressure to win more or recover from your previous loses becomes intense and at some point a big burden that can swallow up the gambler, so one needs to accept for a fact that limiting yourself from excessive gambling is key to stay off from bad debt or addictions and maximizing your security of fund's regardless of your win or losing.

I think I when replied to up to two didferent threads that are related to this topic and in all of them I gave the same or similar response which was “yes, I would”.

Usually when I am faced with losing streak - I tend to just take a break from gambling, look for other things to do so that I can clear my thought and then return but this time I’m not aiming for profit but instead looking for the game that has the highest chance of winning and when I come across one I’d place the minimum bet and see if I’d win it.

This whole process is just to get my brain to play off the previous losing streaks I encountered - there’s a way losing streaks messes with your brain so if you’re not careful you might end up chasing losses which could lead to more damage.

Not just in gambling but even in your life when things are not going in the way as you expected just take a moment to analyse the situation which will give the clarity of what to do next. The same goes for gambling too but for the obvious reason which is losing isn't fun and we should gamble for fun so when there's no fun in that then take a break, shift your focus on something important and try your luck later. People can survive if they don't gamble at all so don't complicate the life with unnecessary decisions when it's not needed.

We sleep every night so that our bodies can be relaxed, get refreshed for the next day so that we don't make stupid decisions.
When you are on a winning streak, take a break. When you are on a losing streak take a break. There is so much that taking a break in gambling does and that should not be taken for granted.
Just as making some stupid life decisions are reduced after a good sleep so does making some stupid gambling decisions are limited when we take breaks.

Any gambler should do that rather than continuing to chase defeat. At least taking a break can renew the mind to be clearer, to be able to think healthily again, to put down all the burdens of defeat. Those of us who can still divert defeat from gambling are people who are able to control ourselves. Because in gambling self-control cannot be done all, sometimes you have to step back and gather strength.

Taking a break when on a losing streak is probably the wisest thing to do and this is something that can save you from incurring losses. The instincts of an addicted or emotional gambler would be to continue betting hoping that the next win can give them the recovery boost they need. Gambling doesn't actually work this way and it's the wrong way to approach it, I have lost a lot of money in the past doing this. Losing streaks can happen sometimes and you must give it a break when this happens instead of trying to push your luck. Taking a step back makes you a responsible gambler.

Take break is just the best decision to take in gambling when the is becoming what you can't afford because their is no guarantee if continuing playing you cam be able to recover the money you have already lose in gambling. There are some gambling habits or pattern of gambling people need not to consider because it can be a trap may be some other time. Just imagine one decides to continue playing after losing and eventually succeeds in recovering all the lose, it will be a habit in the next game to continue playing believing that it is very possible to see recover loses.

It is better to have in mind never to continue playing when one is losing, if one is not been affected by the decision immediately, it will be a gambling pattern that one will still have to bear the consequences in the future.

Taking a break becomes very necessary in such a scenario before it turns to be that you end up loosing more than you can bear and you get even depressed and even more troubled and in some cases get addicted and do some crazy things you wouldn't have done ordinarily if you weren't gambling continually after the series of loss, for me I recommend a break probably you get to come back better and with better decisions and picks.

You can especially wipe out your bankroll totally, that's the most dangerous and important thing IMO. Personally if I start to feel bad and being more aggressive in my gameplay I try to take a break or to play another game in order to avoid entering a vicious circle. Otherwise I continue to play the same game without increasing my stake hoping to get a winning streak, erasing my losses.

It's someone who's addicted to gambling will keep gambling even when it is obvious that they are on the losing side of gambling. I haven't for once taken the step of pursuing my losses in gambling before because already I normally map out small amounts of money to gamble with. If the amount finishes when gambling, I call my gambling for that day I quit until when I am ready to try my luck on gambling again. It can be the upper week or next month depending on when I am chanced.

Taking a break after a losing streak is necessary because if we continue to play at that time, I am sure the losses will continue even though there is a saying that once again you will reach the point of victory that you are aiming for. For me that is not 100% true.
In gambling, you also need a break. What I mean by taking a break here is to relax our minds so that our emotions do not jump around.
When we take a break, that is where victory in gambling comes.

There's nothing wrong to take a short break when we're in lose streak, it might ruin our mood, so we can find happiness on the other thing like playing video games, meet up with friends or just going out.

I see that there are few people who voted no, I'm worried if they might be addicts who can't stop gambling.

It’s not the losing streak that makes me take a break but it’s the bankroll problem.

If I’m serious about gambling, especially sports betting, I understand that losing streaks are just part of the game, so if I have a solid bankroll and stay disciplined with my bet sizes even a 5 to 10-game losing streak wouldn’t shake me. It’s always better when you already anticipate what could happen and accept it, so that way losses just feel like another ordinary day, and you don’t panic when they come.

In the long run, it doesn't matter.
After you experience a ton of losing streaks you will also realize that betting after them in half of the cases you would have made profits and in half of the cases you would have lost it, deciding to stop after a losing or winning streak I statistically no different than stopping now or tomorrow or based don't he moon phases.

When I have like string of unsuccessful bet or losing streaks, I will go and take a break and simply get out of gambling for a couple of days. I don't like to push myself and chase for that win as I will not be confident of the bet that I will going to make next so, mentally, I need to rest for a while.

For sure, there are a lot of gamblers who also rest for several days after a losing streak. I think it's just normal for us because the more we bet, the more we are going to lose and it's really better to just take some time off to refresh our minds and be back maybe with a better strategy and better picks.

Dont even think about it, just take a break to split up your betting regularly will be a healthy helpful process to gaining better returns.    Its easily arguable a person will have better luck after a previous negative streak given some time and distance left between the two.   Dont presume it but just taking a rest is helpful imo, quit before you get tired is best also.

It's a very dangerous time when lost and lost. When you repeatedly lose in a game, you feel like you need to take a break, but our brain is so distorted that you can't. You could have saved a lot of money if you could control yourself and stop playing the game.

Going for an immediate break? No. When the losses persists, Yes. Because I'd assume that the brain power has lessen and no longer makes efficient decisions. However it's unbearable the kind of dangers that emerges from aggressive moves towards the losses, chances of change would be low. And more losses will be incured. Taking a break builds back the lost energy and revives fresh thoughts. Whoever thinks out of tiredness may have themselves to blame.

Most of the time the answer is yes, I take a break after some big loss or a losing streak, but I wasn't always like that... I guess now I am older & wiser, and I have a bit more control than I used to.

Every coin has two sides, so do you take a break when you are on a winning streak or a big win? It's harder to take a break when we are winning, but it's so wise to do it... it can save us a lot of money by keeping some profit and not chasing bigger wins, which usually ends very bad!

I’m not taking a break, I'm a gambler, and I can’t consider a day a good day without gambling. Just being real here, dude. Some might say we should take a break, but no, if I still have money to gamble, why would I deprive myself of something that truly makes me happy?

Real gamblers will understand that feeling. But those who are just testing the waters or not really into it won’t relate as much to those of us who have been doing this consistently for years.

Usually that's what I do to erase those negative thoughts and will not think losing. Taking some short breaks is I think the best thing to do to shake off those bad luck since there's no really sense to continue if you are in losing streak and you might lose a lot then get more frustrated to what you have encounter.

Many lose more its because they are engaging on stressful betting which they think chasing losses is best for them but turn out bad its because the result came different then they lose everything they have.

Better think more smarter and take a short time breaks to relax our minds.

If you are the type of gambler who has a limit on how much you can gamble and you see that your casino money is running out quickly, that is a sign that you should stop playing for now.

Especially if you are the type of gambler who does not know how to control the amount of money you gamble, when you notice that you are losing a lot of money gambling,
you should also stop playing for a while and come back another day and maybe you will get lucky.

I do often a break because imagine the stress you've got and the emotion at that time is not too stable sometimes you eagerness to make another bet just to cater the losses so instead of making a wrong decision in life taking a rest is one of the suitable thing to do, make a peace of mind, plan your next move or strategy so you can visual the things you've need to do before taking an action. I do consider days to make a recover but its up to the player how long they need to make themselves ready again for making a bet to beat the curse of losing streak.

Accepting your losses for a break is the best way to limit your losses. I have a gamble budget, the moment the funds is exhausted, I don't gamble till I refill it. If it happens that I go all in one on a session and I lose it, I am done with gambling throughout that week.

However, if I start gambling and I am on a losing streak, I quit immediately to gamble another day because, if I continue, I might get emotional and make wrong decisions.

I react differently since I always feel the fear of losing more when losing streak already hitting me hard regardless if I’m winning before that streak happened. I tend to loosen instead of persisting to recover my losses I knew that it’s very hard to change fate once I’m already losing.

I’m taking a break maybe few days then try again with minimal bankroll to test my luck again. Typically, I choose high odds with small bets to test my luck and purchase couple of bonus buy.

Taking a break is not just the best option to take but necessary. Just like the usual thing I did when I lost 3 bets straight, I took a pause. I was thinking about what I did wrong or if my emotions were too high, which I couldn't think right about, and my decision was too bad. Because it happened before, as I continued gambling and hoping for a big win. Unfortunately, the consequences are massive and regretful. That makes me realize that it was wrong, and chasing wins is not a good idea because that only leads to disaster.

I can't take a long break if I'm losing in gambling. Since I play on a small budget, a series of losses can significantly reduce my deposit, and instead of thinking about a break, I often try to play for the rest of my deposit in the hope that I'll get lucky and win back. I rarely succeed in this, but it doesn't upset me, because it's a small budget and I'm initially ready to lose it.

A reasonable and sensible person should know that when gambling and they lose that bet it is important to distance the gambling site for a while before continuing betting, without spacing gambling site after several losses would increase your eagerness and your anxiety level to recover what you had already lost, but at this time if you don't space then you keep losing regularly because your emotion is unstable and cannot think and reason very fine.

If I bet a parlay or multiple bet with at least 2-6 matches and I lost the bet, I don't mind to distance myself and take break till when next I should receive funds to my betting account. This is wise decision it makes you to regulate and control how often you would keep gambling and it also helps to reduce the rate at which you could have gotten addicted.

I take a brake when am on a losing streak and I do regret my actions when am gambling cause I normally gamble with what I can afford to lose. Desperate gamblers chase their losses and chasing your losses brings more lose. Greedy gambler don't gamble for entertainment they gamble to make money from gamble and if they lose they chase it until they lose everything.

Taking a break definitely helps but not everyone can afford to do it especially when gambling has already become part of their daily routine. Even for me, I find it hard to take a break, and since I’m on a losing streak, my bankroll is slowly drying up.

As gamblers we know that if we’re not betting an amount that excites us, then gambling starts to lose its meaning, so in my case, I’ll try to borrow just enough money, an amount I’m sure I can pay back. But if I still lose that, then I’ll have no choice but to take a break… because I’ll have no money left to gamble.

If am just going to bet on sports and maybe I already have a budget for the amount I want to spend, after analyzing and coming up with my prediction (mostly a parlay) I could just stake on the games and allow it to play out, sometimes it could be games that will last for days or a week. If the games was unsuccessful, I would have to wait till I have some funds to allocate for gambling again. Also, if am playing on the casino, I normally use just a small amount that even if I lose it all at that moment because of losing streak, I would not think about the money but after the lose, my next bet could bet after a a week.

In most case I will lose the entire capital for that day before thinking of having a break. Yep i have to find out whether I still have luck left for that day and the only way to find out is to keep going until its over. Anyway I often just deposit a few USD for the capital. Not an earth shattering funds.

Taking a break would have stopped the funds to be lost. Saving whats left for another day I think would have been a good decision.

I bet that Bournemouth would win or draw with Liverpool with $10. I lost the bet. Because of that, I am taking a break for at least 2 weeks. The money is very small compared to what I make weekly but that is how I bet. Also if I gamble and I lost money but which I planned before betting as I can not go beyond the money that I can afford to lose, I also stop gambling for awhile.

Some users just decrease their bankroll while other increase their bankroll to easily catch up with losses.

Personally, taking break is my self defense mechanism to not become addicted and suffer with more losses. I always loss when I’m already so obsessed on chasing my losses in the past so right now I’m taking a break frequently when I experienced losing streak for a short period of time.

It’s very hard to keep betting if you don’t win anything tho.
