With Amazon slowly taking over the world and the blue origin company setting its sights on asteroid mining , Jeff Bezos has a very real chance of becoming a trillionaire.

Do you guys think he will actually achieve this in his lifetime?

He has had an incredible rise, all linked to Amazon - and Amazon have their fingers in a lot of pies. However, like all giants then eventually things start going wrong, or competitors come through, or new startups disrupt current start ups like Amazon did 20 years ago, or some of their investments don’t pay off etc and costs rise and sales dip as they reach a mature operating model. We can see this with Facebook shares falling a few days ago. A double digit upward curve only ever lasts so long, it doesn’t matter who you are or what company you are there is a correction somewhere down the line in all cases. I would say a trillion is too far off as it stands.

Man orders gold coin worth Rs 61,000 from Flipkart, receives empty box

Adding to the ever-growing list of cheating cases in the e-commerce sphere, a man in Karnataka ordered gold coin only to receive an empty box. Amit Garg, an employee in a private firm in Bengaluru, ordered 20 gm gold coin from home-grown giant, Flipkart but allegedly received an empty box from PVC Logistics. I am actually neutral about Jeff becoming a trillionaire.
But know that if he doesn't, someday, someone would be.
And I guess he is going to remain atop there for some time.

Amazon has succeeded for a lot of things, one of them being direct customer support. That is a big problem for me, because sending emails back and forth is very time consuming and meaningless. But no matter what.
The speed with which he is earning net wealth I believe he is definitely going to be a sure-fire billionaire, just to see how much time he's earned that wealth.
A mirror for people to learn from him.

Amazon is doing great and Jeff Bezos is making a lot of money, at some point there will be some sort of saturation or competition, that will make it very difficult for him to hit a trillion dollar.
Jeff Bezos is a sharp mind among humans on earth right now in terms of business because it is a company that owns no inventory and has been ruling even in China before Alibaba was launched. Anyhow, his net worth is 143.1 billion USD and this is far more than what Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg have in their bank accounts. SO yeah it will not be bad to call him a super human.

Grin Grin Cheesy that's hilarious. Well, I'm sure they're mostly referring to USD whenever they want to make an estimation outta somebody's worth. Converting to another currency may devalue your net worth since those they compare with are in USD.   Grin

I think that he decides to take a risky but optimistic Step by allowing Amazon to trade with bitcoin stability, it is very brave and fresh step, that that makes us to believe more in the future of Bitcoin.

Well there is a saying that great mind discuss ideas, good minds discuss events and fools always discuss people. So don’t be fools and don’t be counted in this category. Believe in yourselves and let others believe in themselves. Don’t make your opinions about people. You don’t know how they are moving towards their destination. You should be focused on your thing, leave others.

I don't think so, he's old and amazon is probably bubble Cheesy But if he prioritize his life and placed on 1st stage goal of becoming trillionaire he probably be more close right now than he is, but I can be wrong. What about ICO? Will you invest this summer? His increasing wealth means that Amazon's continued success and continued prosperity depends on plans rather than on the current situation.
I do not think there is a strong competitor to Amazon in the retail market, but that does not mean it has a bright future. Look what happened to Nokia. They presented everything ideally but failed in the end.
I do not want to compare Amazon to Nokia, but their plans do not look promising, let's watch the future.

By the pace he is gaining net wealth I believe that he will surely be a trillionaire for sure, we just have to see that in how much time he gains that wealth. In the end of last year from which I believe he passed Bill Gates once in net wealth when amazon stock price suddenly spiked but it was just a matter of time and then he suddenly went behind after a few minutes, but now he has become constant at #1 place.

Just over 7x from here? Sure. Why not?

Inflation will take care of most of it. The rest, it's easy to forget that online shopping is still under the 20% mark for retail. In Africa and the Middle East it's less than 2%.

If he successfully moves into groceries too then it's in the bag. And it's easy to forget that selling tat is only a part of his business. His facilities are now underpinning large amounts of the internet.

Amazon has some very ambitious and futuristic plans for their future. The idea of delivering goods via drone was a concept they may have played a role in pioneering. Their recent acquisition of whole foods hints @ them pursuing organic foods for local markets in the future. They're selling plants on their website. Bestbuy and target have begun to emulate amazon in terms of them both adopting "free shipping". Walmart to a lesser extent has tried (and failed) to do the same.

Its too early to say what the long term outlook for amazon will be. If they will succeed in killing off their competition with their aggressive, predatory and innovative strategies to eventually centralize retailer markets and enjoy something like a monopoly in terms of having dominant marketshare. I think that even if they are successful @ dominating US markets they eventually will face competition from china who is attempting to do many of the same things amazon is, if in different sectors and to different customers.

Jeff Bezos is on the top 5 wealthiest list. I haven't checked but his net worth is likely tied up in the value of amazon stock. If AMZN appreciates to a high enough value Bezos could become an eventual trillionaire, at least in terms of net worth. I think it would require a substantial (and unlikely) amount of growth in the price of amazon stock for that to happen though.
Jeff Bezos is the richest person in the world right now. With a net worth of more than 130 Billion Dollars. Amazon also had this Amazon Go store, where people can just come and shop, and there are no cashiers or shop keepers. Everything is taken care by AI. This is something no one has done before, Amazon has succeeded because of a lot of things, one of them being live customer support. That is a big deal for me, because sending emails back and forth is time consuming and is literally useless.

Will Jeff Bezos become a trillionaire? Mostly not. One trillion dollars is a lot more than you imagine. That's almost equivalent to 1/8th of total gold ever mined. A more realistic number would be 500,000$,and this will be years if not decades later.

Amazon is doing great and Jeff Bezos is making a lot of money, at some point there will be some sort of saturation or competition, that will make it very difficult for him to hit a trillion dollar.

As a amazon customer for 4 years, it was doing great for me also. But in April 2018, I purchased a chair from amazon seller and the chair broke in 2 months. The seller is disconnecting my phone calls. No refund and not giving me a new chair. No help from amazon also. Amazon just walked away.

The chair was my biggest/costliest purchase from amazon. I lost all the discounts I got from amazon.

When you buy offline, the sellers are within 10 miles of your residence or work. but when you buy from amazon or e-commerce websites the sellers can be 25 miles or 40 miles away or in another city or state.

Now I will buy from online stores or factories/manufacturers website only. E-commerce website can bring you lots of losses in the long run/future.

Reputed and world famous brands like Samsung, Dell, Tropicana, Coca Cola, Kaspersky will get buyers directly from their websites. Manufacturers/factories have the best quality and lowest price and unlimited supply of products and services.

Google search can be bad for amazon by sending people directly to Dell, Samsung etc..

I'm in the EU and Amazon UK is importing stuff directly from France and the other way round. I even got a package from Lithuania one time.
I've learned to avoid sellers that don't send you stuff via Amazon. If you buy via their warehouse they respect the complaints and RMA is a piece of cake, but if you buy from a random seller it can be much harder.
It's funny that people are starting to think that getting scammed online is something completely normal. That said, I've bought electronics worth over 5k USD via amazon and haven't been scammed yet.

Do you know what Jeff Bezos is missing in his life? Amazon Crypto Coin. If he launches that coin as an official payment option on Amazon marketplace it will sell like hot cakes. Even better if it's mineable and tradeable on exchanges and has its own wallet. I bet it would be a mighty alternative to Amazon gift cards. By the way there has been a survey about this and it looks like Amazon customers are loving the idea:

Quote
More than half of respondents in a new LendEDU survey said they would use an Amazon-created cryptocurrency for purchases on the site. More than 58% of Prime users said they would consider using "Amazon Coins." And about 45% are open to possibly using Amazon as their primary bank account.

I think Jeff Bezos' net worth will skyrocket if he really greenlights some project like this. And other big online marketplaces will be forced to follow suit or else they will be left behind.
Correct. I totally agree with you. His real values and projects should be clearer. I also believe he is more than Amazon before. That's why it would be for the projects to follow. Forcing compliance or being left behind is utterly high probability. I believe so.

The simple answer is no or at least not in the near future. Jeff Bezos adding 40$ Billion to his wealth does not make his path to become a trillionaire clear. Yes his business is set as it has been future proofed by him but does it mean there will be no competition for him? Of course not other conglomerates or even startup companies will try to rival and take some market shares away from Amazon. Just take a look at Coca-cola and Pepsi they have been taking shares from each other. Amazon just needs to have its match.

Online shop has changed the world, with the development of technology in the internet world has made it easier for humans to do anything. Make things easy to do and will continue to grow in the future. Every human can not be separated with the world of technology, for example, an online shop that has been popular in this century.

This is the concept owned by Amazon company owned by Jeff Bezos. They offer many products to facilitate their customers without having to get out of the house. Nothing is impossible, furthermore seeing from all developments of existing technology now the Amazon CEO will become the next trillionaire person in the world. If Amazon remains consistent with their service and can maintain and develop their services to its customers.

NO. Because there is only so much wealth in this world. Also his wealth is based off stock prices shooting up. If a recession hits then his wealth might cut in half. And according to current statistics Amazon should first become a 10 trillion dollar company for Jeff Bezoz to become a trillionaire. His wealth has always been around 10% of amazon's valuation. And he has already penetrated majority of the markets. The only way he can make more money is by taking over the space exploration which is next to impossible since there are other countries that do a better job at a cheaper price and then there is space X. NO other industry can actually provide so much revenue for him to become a trillionaire. And the only reason amazon grew to be such a big company was because there are no major competitors for amazon in developed countries.

The next big markets are China and India. There are competitors in China and India that are going toe to toe with amazon and amazon is sinking billions to capture those markets. But its not paying off as of now because other giants like Walmart are providing financial support to the competitors or taking over competitors to oppose amazon's monopoly. The remaining countries are underdeveloped countries who do not have the infrastructure to support amazon.

Maybe he can if he opens a bank and stores half the world's wealth in it and takes interest for the wealth generated or create a new country and make is a developed country and then take part of its taxes. But first he still has to cross the richest man in recent history - John D Rockefeller.

I don't think its possible anymore. One of the main reason being is that there is lot of competition in the market and now a days most of the products can be easily bought directly from the manufacturer website. So, its not going to happen.

It is reported that his Net worth is 143,1 billion USD

I fail to see what this has to do with the economic impact that this will have on Bitcoin? He currently has more wealth than the entire market cap of Bitcoin. <114,879,000,000>  Roll Eyes

With all the potentials that Amazon has, I can say there is no limit to the amount it can get to because now with the recent opening up with partnering with individuals in the area of delivery thereby cutting out conglomerates that live fat on the huge invoices they are being paid. Using this model means a form of reduction in cost thereby increasing revenue. When that happens, it means more dividend and high share price thereafter more money for Jeff Bezos.

However, I think he is already a trillionaire as it depending on the country and currency one is evaluating his net worth. For countries whose exchange rate is relatively low to the dollars, Jeff Bezos might be rich enough to finance the nation's entire which would have been running into trillions in their own currency.

I believe Amazon is going to stay for a long while. They didn't stop at just being a marketplace only but all technologies they provided were all quality and innovative.
Nowadays, everyone of us has an amazon account. A lot of households own amazon dots, amazon echos which make them buy more and more from amazon.
Alexa came out and it was trusted and favored over other voice recognition technologies. Alexa + music was a part of my life too.

With all these facts, CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos is going to earn a lot more from it. And if the USD Dollar does not lose much of its value we will never know how much Jess is going to earn.
BUT 1 trillion?? I dont think the whole top 10 richest people wealth added up would even equal that much.

For mobile phones/smartphones, TV, computers etc.. you can buy directly from manufacturer's website (Example Samsung, Dell). Look at all the types of electronics, devices, products etc.. on Samsung website. Dell sells directly from their website

On Amazon etc.. you will get 30% of the products only. What more products and price can Amazon and super e-commerce websites offer than the manufacturer/factories. The concept of amazon.com etc.. looks flawed/scam/unwanted just like dot.com bubble which is about to burst and then disappear.
