The pump brought some exchanges allowing fiat to litecoin directly, this is a big factor in the future pricing on litecoin.

Segwit was a good news story, which is why it pumped. But... no-one uses Litecoin. There were only 9,753 transactions in the last 24 hours:

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/litecoin-transactions.html

That means that people arn't switching to use litecoin, even though there is a transaction backlog on bitcoin.

If this continues and no-one uses it, there is no reason for the price to rise.

im getting tired of the btc transaction delays and ridiculous fees.

today i sent someone ltc instead of btc (i own both). transaction was confirmed in about a minute with a 6 cent free.

im sure others will come to the same conclusion. ltc will become the main coin for payments.

I don't think LTC can recover.
Why not? Hash Rate rising, difficulty as well. Interest is highest ever.

Fall it will be stopped at 0.01 approximately. Then will start another run UP. At the same time XRP will be dumped and all those free BTCs will hurry up to join, this can be even better one. BTC rests at the moment , so we have big chances.

short term it i'll guess that it's toast.

longer term it depends on a few industry players like coinbase and bitpay. if they start to use it for merchant processing then maybe alot of people will switch over, i probably would. i don't think bitpay will but coinbase is on the litecoin train now.

No. Litecoin will go down for the next 2 years until the next halving pump. History will not change. Time to switch back to BTC if you haven't already.

My prediction it will recovered but not that soon, now the alt coin prices is down due to the dump, but there are a lot of investors are enthusiastic to used litecoin since bitcoin is a bit slow in transaction and I heard there will be a lot of business going to implemented litecoin

It is hard for people to accept litecoin as the moment after its fallen in 2014. From my perspective, Litecoin will rise again but it will take a lot of time for it to recover from that damage. Moreover, litecoin needs support from some platforms or store to make it more popular. I am looking forward to seeing steam to add a new crypto to the payment method system. Hope that it will be Litecoin

Interesting, you have just given me an idea for a website that lists TPS rather than market cap.

it is hard to predict what will happen to litecoin in the future because people do not see the potential that litecoin can bring to us. Although Litecoin is a bitcoin copycat, we have to admite that litecoin has improved almost every mistake which can not be solved in Bitcoin. I highly support Litecoin, but I do not know what other people are thinking right now

i anticipated litecoin to be in the high 30's but its looks like its headed for the low 20's , do u think it will recover ?

investors are finally taking profit now, all coins are dumped, wait for the next pump for recover, it will happen i'm sure, but before a pump always come a price correction

The LTC developers seem to keep information closely held and don't seem to talk about their projects as much as the developers of other coins.  Or that may just be my perception.

To be honest, I took that as being evidence that there was very little Litecoin development going on.

Happy to have been proven wrong given recent developments.

Totally agree, only segwit rumours are shaping the price of litecoin currently.

i think not only that but bitmain is pumping litecoin, to make it profitable for their L3 miners and sell more of those

Litecoin as an alt doesn't really offer much, the recent price rise was due to nothing more than it adopting segwit, its often seen as a testbed for bitcoin but its obvious to anyone that it doesn't actually offer much otherwise that bitcoin or other alts don't already do.

So to answer your question, I don't think litecoin will recover, and even if it does it will drop back down again for sure.

I own both BTC and LTC.  With there being no end in sight with Bitcoin Bickering, I believe that my LTC has a much better chance at a significant increase.

I agree that it will not only recover, but go higher as more development is announced.

It seems not much is happening with litecoin bwcause people have no demand on it compared to bitcoin. Bitcoin is in news a lot about japan  legslly using itand russia letting them use it soon legally.

Litecoin will have tons of good news as further lightning network developments are deployed. Good things in the pipeline. As long as bitcoin has no segwit, litecoin has the possibility to hit an all time high. Sooner or later, the unconfirmed transactions are going to reach a ridiculous point were people will be forced to go elsewhere and LTC is the best alternative.
I have also heard that there is good news for litecoin but I do not understand why litecoin has no signs of recovery. My friends also say do not worry, it will soon rise again but I have been waiting for some time and all I see is the price of litecoin seems to stand still. Do you think the news we get is just a trap to make us buy litecoin for the high price?, or litecoin need time to get the powerful pump. Now you think we should continue to wait or cut losses quickly to limit losses, I am very confused about this

Litecoin seems already hit higher price over $30? Last time I saw it was $29.
We know how litecoin pumped from $3-$4 and slowly increases after Segwit implementation.
People use it as trading object which caused it decrease again, if bitcoin cannot fulfill people's demand, they will use litecoin for transaction purpose, maybe like bitcoin>litecoin, and litecoin>bitcoin.

Miners were making a profit when it was $4. So other than speculation, why would you think it would go up? Having said that, once they start talking about LN being "close" to implementation, it will be pumped again.. and once LN is out, it will head back down again.
