Honestly, what kind of confession is this? I don’t understand the main concept of this confession thread. Is this confession about when and where do we bought our first Bitcoin or a confession about how we didn’t trust a friend to purchased Bitcoin?

I have same experience but I’m the one who’s selling my Bitcoin that time to my friend. He didn’t trust me that I’m selling him right price so he decided to purchased his own Bitcoin which he ended up being scam after using scam exchange that selling too good to be true Bitcoin price.
I think the thread is about his initial disbelief in Bitcoin which warranted him to purchase the coin at a way higher price from what his friend offered to sale to him.

Although I'll rather he can it his experience and not a confession. Almost everyone had 1 doubt or the order when Bitcoin was 1st initiated,I think this was basically as a result of the fact that it appeared too good to be true plus the high rate at which scammers existed at the time.
So , to me, this is an experience and not a confession.

Hey Guys,

I have a confession to make- I bought my first bitcoin at around $300 (year 2016), when an acquaintance told me to buy bitcoin from him at around $220, but instead i did not bought from him as i thought it may be something unheard or ponzi, After few days of research i actually bought at a quiet higher price (from an exchange) thinking that exchange transactions are secure and without letting him know, Later when i told met and told him he said he would have done the transaction before and i should have paid him later, but never thought of, now i realize i would have got almost 0.30 more which is today around $7500 ...
I almost thought you committed a crime and wants to come clean. This won't have been the board for that anyways and I don't see much to be a confession in what you've stated. Just an opportunity not taken and that is normal on a man's journey. In fact, there ar many opportunities sliding by - by the minute and we continue not to take it still.

Let's say, your curiosity got the better of you. Ponzi schemes surely did a lot to people's approach towards picking an investment and I won't say its exactly a bad thing. In your case,at least youanaged it to invest at last or didn't you? Because I read you later bought at a higher price from an exchange. Orperhaps that's to mean in present times  and should it be so, youve still not lost what you never had except the opportunity of 2016 which stands a lesson.

I don't have similar story except one of ignorance and that's normal for most persons. You tread carefully and be ready to take calculated risk.

OP at first I was thinking you were about making somebody do the needful ie a direct statement to somebody but as I read through it was all about a personal experience and the title does not really blend with the content or body if the post. I would suggest you try modifying the topic to suit your message so that one does not see the topic thinking it will be the same thing as the content but reading another thing as the content. This is mostly the issues of some members here. They write a good topic but the message is quite different from the topic which does not make any sense in any ways. Although u have had such experience where I was advised to take part in s particular Crypto exercise then but I ignored it and the project turns out to be a massive one which was of huge benefits to the Crypto community.

I have confessed about my crypto journey but I have never provided details so they can have their own thoughts and then ask for advice or be able to inspire them to get involved in bitcoin. But I also explain to them the risks they will face during their investment journey and when they say they are ready for the risks, they can start investing in bitcoin.

But indeed, some people will not be influenced by other people's stories and instead choose to do their own search to find the truth. It is good for them because they want to learn more about bitcoin so they don't go wrong. But we can still accompany them as long as they are still in search.

I guess I have no more confessions to make. I must have shared all of my experiences at some points. I have already shared that I was initially attracted to Bitcoin because of its promising returns. I have also shared that I have also fallen victim to a Ponzi scam. I also made a post about how Bitcoin didn't really interest me the first time I heard of it. I also admitted that while I have been with Bitcoin for years, there's so much about it that I don't really understand until now.

I guess it's lessons that we have to learn here, some of us didn't think that bitcoin could grow this big. Maybe we have the opportunity before but then we all wasted it.

Or perhaps we did have bitcoin early on, but we didn't take care of it and when we come back years later, it's not there as we most likely forget our private keys, this has happen to me.

For I moment I thought OP was about to call us out for some reason.  Tongue

I want to confess and I am actually a fraud of Bitcoiner, because I first acquired stablecoins and then Ether.
I did so, because I did not know how Bitcoin addresses worked and I thought the change of address could lead to loss of funds, so I went for Ether (because those addresses do not change).

Since I have just come clean, I beg for forgiveness to all of you.  Wink Tongue

Thank you.

everyone must have a different experience, about his first experience in buying bitcoin, but I personally don't have the same experience as you and when I first heard the word bitcoin I knew it from relatives and friends but none of them wanted to sell it until I finally bought bitcoin through an exchange . and at the same time while observing people buying and selling bitcoins on the crypto market.

I made SO MUCH money in bitcoin, and I mean like insane amount of bitcoins, dozens of bitcoins, it wasn't remotely what I could ever save for, but those were times when one bitcoin was like a few hundred dollars, even a bit over a grand at the end of it. What did I do with it? I spent it, I spent it on living of course and that part makes sense but I was getting so rich that I started to spend it on useless and wasteful stuff as well. If I lived a frugal life for a year when I made that money, I could have over a dozen bitcoins by now, which is good enough to retire, or at least be rich enough to not worry about any unexpected costs, which would have been awesome.

I never thought that bitcoin is a legitimate currency because of the increase of shitcoin scams in my country. I have always refused to invest in bitcoin because most people have lost thier funds investing in worthless coins that promises high profit returns. It was a friend that opened my understanding about bitcoin. This my friend was able to distinguish between bitcoin and other coins. And I immediately saw the need to be part this sector. Therefore my confession is that I once saw Bitcoin as one of those ponzi schemes promoted mostly by these get rich quick fake crypto experts that claim to know all about the industry, meanwhile they are just fraudsters seeking for people's funds to steal.

Not much to confess about my Bitcoin venture except that I shared it to my friends and most of them think it was a scam.  That was wayback 2014.  No one ever invited me to crypto.  I found it through an advertisement from PTC sights.  Yeah I was an active clicker way back then trying to earn money but well, I didn't manage to withdraw a single cent on my PTC career because I was hijacked by Bitcoin and made me divert my attention from PTC to cryptocurrency and I believe it was the best decision I made in my entire sideline career.
In my case i was involved into some too good to be true ponzi schemes which it did really dragged me into the world of crypto yet i had been curioused on whats the coins been used on this investment
and this is the time that i had reached up this forum and i do find it a good place on learning up even more with Bitcoin or crypto overall.
I did tell some of my friends wayback 2015-2016 which they didnt really believe on what they had see until the bull run comes and reaching out ATH's
then this is where they started to get interested.

There are many mistakes we perpetrate when investing in cryptocurrencies. I've already invested in hyip schemes and lost money to scammers, thinking those could be reliable modern investment platforms, which were only possible to exist thanks to bitcoin. Anyway, the bright side of the mistakes is that you can learn something with them. Like in your case, next time I'm sure you aren't going to purchase your coins from exchanges anymore, since you have an acquaintance who can sell you BTC for a cheaper price, and you only have to pay him after the transaction, ensuring safety on the transaction on your side.

Fell Free to share your Bitcoin Experience...

Well, I got almost $360 once doing a bounty work. Then I was not aware of Bitcoin this much. I knew that Bitcoin is the mother token and all, but didn't know how much it could grow. When I learned about it, I invested all in a bull market. Around $32k. Then suddenly it falls. I also told one of my friend who invested $700+ when I told him to. I was a newbie back then. So with less experience, when the market fall, I sold all of them in panic. Less than half price. So my friend did the same. But now I know. The one who falls, only they can grow much higher. I still regret it to this day. One thing to learn from this, never get emotional.

Nothing to confess other than that I had the chance to invest so much in Bitcoin and change my life forever but I did not because I prioritized living the moment at the time.  My friends would have to confess however.  Or better said, they have regrets.  Because later, when I decided to start seriously investing and realized it may bring me serious money in return, they ignored my calls for purchasing Bitcoin and now all my friends have missed the opportunity to financially make it.

Perhaps this is what we call regret and not confession per se. I think everyone has been in that kind of situation before, not trusting bitcoin or not believing on it. But later down the road, we realized our mistakes and should have been making huge profits already.

In any case, it's not too late though, the OP can still invest right now and then wait for the next bull run, probably in 2024-2025 to make a lot of profit.

If you bought Bitcoin a few days later at a higher price, that still must have been good, right? I mean, how much could the price change over such a small period of time? Or were you scammed by the exchange or something like that?
I don't have any big confessions, but I can share that I used to buy altcoins with Bitcoin during the 2017 altcoin era, which I think was a mistake. I didn't lose a lot like this, but I've made some questionable decisions no doubt.
But what's important is to learn from mistakes, not regret something from the past.

but instead i did not bought from him as i thought it may be something unheard or ponzi, After few days of research i actually bought at a quiet higher price (from an exchange) thinking that exchange transactions are secure and without letting him know,

You might be right for taking this action if you're not sure of how you can be reliable with such person and to tell you the truth he may not send up to the required amount you expected from him while you don't know since you're a newbie, nevertheless, this is a big deal abd don't feel like you've already missed out something because bitcoin is always volatile which means you still have alot of opportunities to make something good from your investment with time, we always have several periods and occasions on high, all you need is to hodl more.

I hope you read it correctly i had been full of chances afterwards.. it was year 2016 .. though that was my first instance of buying ..
