I smell scam.  It's nowhere on the Doctors Without Borders website.

If anyone does actually donate, make sure to contact Doctors Without Borders first, and ask them if they support that campaign.

This right here ^^ .

What if you couldn't hold your sick child?
Or care for a dying relative?
Or hug your best friend?

A Day Without Touch is a solidarity challenge and fundraiser.  By taking the Challenge, you will raise much needed money to help Doctors Without Borders (MSF) treat Ebola victims in West Africa while raising awareness of the way the disease parasitizes humanity by preying on our most uniquely human virtues.

What is the Challenge?
Put simply, participants pledge to go for as long as they can without direct skin-to-skin contact with another person.   The fundraiser ends at the end of 2014.

How to Take the Challenge
1. Create an individual fundraising page on this website (click the red "create fundraising page" button in the side bar)
2. Email your friends and family to let them know you are taking the Challenge and to ask them to support your effort with donations
3. Start the Challenge (avoid skin-to-skin contact with other people for as long as you can)
4. Keep your friends and family updated throughout the Challenge and share your experience on this website and social media.
5. End the Challenge when you accidentally or intentionally have skin-to-skin contact with someone else
6. Flip a coin:  The toss represent Ebola's lethality. Heads you live, tails you die. (Be sure to share the outcome.)
7. Ask for donations and thank everyone for their support.
8. Tap at least one other person  to take the Challenge too.

Who Gets the Money?
Funds raised through this campaign go to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an independent international medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man‐made disasters, and exclusion from health care in more than 70 countries. MSF has been responding to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa since March 2014 and has treated more Ebola patients than any other aid organization. More than 3,000 MSF staff members are working in the region, including some nearly 300 international staff. Money from this fundraiser will be earmarked for Ebola specifically.

I accepted the challenge. Will you?
With the help of my family and friends, I will began the A Day Without Touch Challenge on October 15, 2014. To hear my story, please watch my video diary and follow my progress on this blog.  Follow the campaign on the social media platform of your choice (links are in the sidebar to the right), and please, spread the word.  Ebola is moving fast, we need to move faster.

Thank you for your support! Together we will make a difference.

Day 2: Catching Our Breath

Hi there,

Welcome to our 16 new fundraisers and new team. We are so glad to have you with us.

In contrast to yesterday's headiness, today was marked by challenges. First, people are sharing their stories of trying (and failing) to go without touch. Children, it seems, are the downfall for this Challenge. Even when old enough to understand that their parents are avoiding skin-to-skin contact,...

Soft Launch Day 2: Spreading the Word

Hi there,

Things are really busy here at campaign HQ. There are so many things to do in so little time that it's easy to lose sight of what's most important. When I start to feel overwhelmed, I remind myself of the one thing that matters most: spreading the word.

You know that old saying about a tree falling in the forest? Well, it applies to campaigns too. It doesn't matter how hard you work or...

Welcome to Our Soft Launch!
Hi there,

Welcome to the A Day Without Touch Challenge! I'm so excited to have you as a member of the team.

Today is the beginning of our soft launch. For those who aren't familiar with the lingo, a soft launch is a low-profile kick-off that gives people a chance to work out all the kinks in a project before the real launch date. For us, this has meant making sure the website actually...
