This was the text from the initial Rimbit Indiegogo campaign and what the creator sold to people. It's actually laughable now reading back on the below considering some of the developments in the time since like him refusing to destroy any of the remaining Rimbit and especially the owner removing the entire forum, deleting posts and starting again with it because people questions his motives and lies.

I think the premise behind the coin and the general community are positive and welcoming. But it's never going to go anywhere now unfortunately due to this Marcello Karlsson guy and his greed.

Original Campaign Text

Rimbit will be the first coin in the history of Crypto Currency to have full distribution.

On April 18, 2015 history will be made and those who have Rimbit will be part of the new generation of Crypto Currency users who are in full control of the currency, with no outside influence. The world can have its first look at a 100% distributed digital currency and can begin watching it very closely as it will be the benchmark for Bitcoin and other alternative currencies on the market, as they reach their 100% distribution in 100 years (or so)!

History was made when Bitcoin first came onto the digital currency radar in 2009 and can be looked at as Uri Gagarin being the first man in space.
History will also be made when Rimbit hits 100% distribution in April 18, 2015 and can be looked at as Neil Armstrong being the first man to step foot on the surface of the moon.

neil-armstrong-on-the-moon

With full distribution comes great interest in digital currency that no matter how you deconstruct it, is 100% fully decentralized, 100% fully distributed and has absolutely no outside influences, such as mining, currency control etc. It can for the first time in history, be viewed as the pivotal turning point in the digital currency market.

One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind, also runs true for Rimbit as it takes its journey to April 18, 2015, approximately 220 days from the time this article is written.

To ensure that April 18, 2015 remains as the date for 100% distribution, we have also decided to destroy any Rimbit still in initial holding, by sending any remainder to a dummy wallet that is on a USB drive and having a final sacrificial burning of those last coins.

It will truly be a great day on Saturday April 18, 2015 as Rimbit makes its mark on history! To those lucky to have Rimbit on that day, we would like to thank you all for your faith and more importantly, your foresight in Rimbit, that may have had its doubters, but has truly come forward and become the full decentralized currency that others will aspire to. We didn't start out as decentralized, but we had to make it that way, to achieve the goals that we have already set out to do and the rewards of scarcity, decentralization are truly belonging to any Rimbit holder. The future is yours!

I thought Rimbit showed signs of being a Ponzi. They were offering a deal where they promised to double your coins no matter what or something IIRC.
It was back in 2014, after that time I stopped watching their site.

About affiliate marketing - it works when product is good, not when it is a desperate attempt to survive. People are not so stupid to fell for that.

Yes, it does work if you no how to go about it. To me the main thing is you getting the target population and how to get them to your website
I think discussion over here is about affiliate marketing in crypto coin. If any ICO implement high affiliate commision than many intrested users on that project will try to stay away from investing in them as this makes project just like ponzi with MLM feature.

It was 25% but no one was interested so it was increased to 50%.  As far as I am aware only one of the mods has gone for it.

Rimbit lost all its top community members when it became apparent that the Dev, Mark Karlsson, was engaging in inappropriate practises.  It looks like he cannot account for the $200,000 -$250,000 he raised through several sources.  Now IGG has closed this looks to me to be a last desperate attempt to keep an income stream flowing into his wallet.  I hope I am wrong as Rimbit is a currency with high potential but it needs new people to take it forward now.

50% commision is so much and i don't think many will be intrested to invest in coins that give almost half as commission to affiliates. Logically if you can earn almost half without investing than who gonna invest rather than trying to refer other and earn free coins.

It will only work of it it keep the members that it gains through the affiliate marketing to stay on the platform.

If they don't stay, they give away a huge piece of their pie to the marketeers while gaining very little in return. The good part is ofcourse, that the service only pays for actual customers, so in that regard, it is a safe way to get more traffic cheaply.

Rimbit just implemented 50% on all sales made, will this work?
It is high rate 50% and i think it will be work, but it will need much time for getting new member and i am sure you must hard work for it. And you must have another media such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, blog or another media for promotion it.

affiliate marketing is really work but its depend about how we give a good presentation and how we can attract customer to join with us. so far, only a few people which can do it and they really give their attention for new member that join with them. because so far i've look on affiliate marketing, if new member join with us, then new member is not receive any support and new member will do it for themself and this can make new member will leave that affiliate marketing.

I thought crypto currency is not multi level marketing or affiliate marketing related ,then they are not different from all the the other mlm type coin like onecoin, they should have concentrate more on projects and not attack bitcoin ,all their campaign are all against bitcoin.

It looks like a desperate attempt to continue gaining a salary now that the Indiegogo campaign has ended.
