You do not have to justify your comments to an attention-seeking troll such as him. Do not waste you time. I have him on ignore, I would advise you to do the same.

Anyway, we have enough replies without trolls getting involved therefore the thread will be locked.

And what if I was right?

I've said it's my observation in general and his pattern is the same like users who are here for money, however there's no shame after all. Most people are active because they get paid, it's a truth.

If he was inactive when he was in campaign, I won't said that because it's no longer relevant.

-1 .... What a thing to say. What if this guy has genuinely been incapacitated from a computer and you're out here saying "he was only here for the money anyway"

Insensitive.

I have so many problems with this thread, other than the fact of who it came from.

Firstly, are topics aiming to address someone's inactivity really appropriate for this board? If anything, it belongs in Meta because that's exactly what this is - garbage Meta discussion, as it has nothing to do with decodx's reputation.

Additionally, JollyGood, what if decodx in the worst circumstance, has been injured or passed away, or maybe lost a loved one, or something drastic. Do you think he would really want his personal and private affairs to be divulged and discussed on Bitcointalk if it weren't to come from himself? People generally struggle or prefer not to open up to their friends and loved ones over tough life circumstances, and people generally don't appreciate being pried about their personal circumstances...they prefer to divulge themselves when they are comfortable...so what makes you think that you have the right to create a discussion surrounding the reason for someone's inactivity? Don't you think that's a bit disrespectful to their privacy and also insensitive?

Let's also be real here JollyGood, if decodx was an actual friend of yours, or if he wanted to be friends with you, he'd have reached out on another channel or you'd be able to reach him. Otherwise, you have no right to discuss his inactivity or the reason for it, or prompt/pressure any of the community who is associated/in closer contact/is actually friends with him to divulge any information about his activity. Only decodx or someone he personally trusts, communicates with and/or gave permission at some stage can do that.

out of smerit. so I'm going old school on the good posts.

Actually, we don't have to say anything about it. He was once a very expansive and good user but suddenly he went offline. It's his personal matter. We can say why he left or why. No because it is his personal opinion what he will do.

Since, he is mentioned here and posted about him if he comes online he will surely see it I think he will write something about his personal opinion let's wait until he says something.

Life just sometimes happens with no warnings or preparations. A while back, something unavoidable happened to me and just found myself off the forum and not active here for some days. I Just hope he is well and is having a good retirement off the forum  Smiley

Can't seem to see any of his other alternate contacts. Maybe that was what he preferred. Going logging off silently.

I cannot recall engaging with Flying Hellfish directly but definitely do remember reading some of his posts and that avatar of his. We all hope he is doing well just as we would wish for any member that stopped posting without informing us of an impending hiatus or permanent exit.

In the end, respecting privacy is very important therefore even if someone has the means to contact an absent member outside the forum (not saying you do), maybe doing so will infringe that privacy whether we learn they are deceased or learn they did not want to be contacted in the first place.

Yeah, I’m one of them over in collectibles. Thats how I got to chatting w Helliy. I don’t think he was very close w many of us nerds over in that board though. I certainly respect his privacy, not looking to track him down. Just curious if he’s doing alright.
Maybe he disappeared and wants his privacy to be respected Smiley

I think the best way to reach him is through his locals, maybe there is someone that could be very close to him in their local such person can check up on him to know how he is fairing, as we know people faces difficulty out there without even voicing it out to others instead they may decide to run it on the low to maintain their respect and privacy just as @Yahoo62278 had already said.

I hope he is fine anywhere he is right away and Thank you JollyGood for checking up on him, at least it's important to always check on the closest to know how they are fairing as we know things are getting tougher on regular basis.

Picture this - You're taking some time offline, you get a call or a tap on the shoulder and they say "hey, your online forum buddies are worried about you because you've been inactive since june, maybe you should check in with them"

Do you feel cared for or do you feel violated or concerned about how valued your privacy is on this forum?...
Best case scenario - Both.
Unless it's coming from a member where there is mutual care and respect. Which is not the case in this thread (in this thread, it's just a fanboy creating discussion about someone's inactivity because he has nothing better to do with his sad life)

I don't know if @decodx is from Ukraine or if he just showed support in his profile - but it is possible that maybe he went to war or something happened to him in one of the attacks. I hope that he is well and that he will return to the forum in the future. However, it's a real shame that he still hasn't become a Legendary member, which he definitely deserves - I hope that will also change.

Pretty bold and dark assumption, way to assume the worst.

This is normal, many users only active when they're in campaign.

Some users who were in high paying campaign choose to abandon the forum or waiting for worthy campaign instead of participating in low paying campaign or not in campaign at all.

I would be worried if the users are in high paying campaign, but didn't post and then get kicked out, this mean there's something wrong in their real life.

This is just my observation in general though.

I do not know why you concluded that. If you look at his post history you will notice your suggestion should never have even been made.
And even if would have posted in local board, I'm not sure how likely mod or any other random member would have contact with him outside forum. If he value his privacy, it's unlikely that he shared other contact details.

If you looked at his post history, did it ever occur to you that the account was not new? Those who check newbie accounts can quickly understand whether a person is new to the forum or not. In the Decodx account, it seems that the account was created exclusively to search for scams and then cheaters. This can be understood by seeing his searches from the first days of his presence on the forum. I do not know if he participated in signature companies, but perhaps there is another account that successfully participates in the life of the forum.
I did take a look at his post history and it does not seem that the account was exclusively created to fight scammers. He was definitely on a campaign for a long time too and after checking the last 100 posts that is quite clear.

I think many remember the ICOEthics account, which also actively exposed scammers and was created exclusively for this. Probably, Decodx pursued similar goals. But this is only my assumption, and I sincerely wish for his return to the forum.
I remember the ICOEthics account, they were very helpful in fighting scams and then for reasons unknown they stopped using the forum. Nowadays it is not about ICOs because scams have evolved and investors are also quite careful before investing in ICOs. Maybe when the change was happening that was when ICOEthics decided there was no longer a need for the free service they provided.

I believe it would be very easier to get  to him through his local board

That's one of many cases when user mysteriously disappear without any prior signs. It's reality of forums that we can't change, unless you have contact with person outside forum. Usually in such situations various speculations begins, but respecting privacy we should only hope that everything is ok for him.
BTW, if someone noticed that you're gone from forum, it probably means that you left some mark here.

For his absence to be noticed, then it means he has really imparted on this platform. I had to check for myself and I saw good remarks about his scam bursting activities which is very commendable to say but his sudden disappearance is what I am still wondering what must have happened. I believe it would be very easier to get  to him through his local board, maybe his local board moderator could be able to get information as to why he has not been active for a while if he knows him or anybody that knows him  from their local board could help get through to him.

Maybe giving it a little time might be the best way forward. Hopefully he will post to let us know he was taking a break.
Hopefully. Sometimes we overthink these things and won't rest until we get clarity on what's going on.
It's good to show concern too but I think what yahoo said seems to be the best likelihood but then we'd never know until we see him, right? Undecided

Yeah, life can throw some real curveballs when we least anticipate it.   Out of nowhere, stuff happens that makes you take a big step back from social media and everything online.  Maybe he ran into something in his personal life that needed his full focus - health, family, that kind of important stuff.  Who knows? But I hope he's okay and everything works out.
At some stage I think by far most of us have gone through one issue or another that took our attention away from the forum. Not being on a campaign might have played a part but the unannounced absence has not gone unnoticed.

I don't know if @decodx is from Ukraine or if he just showed support in his profile - but it is possible that maybe he went to war or something happened to him in one of the attacks. I was curious about this issue too therefore had a look a this profile. All I could find was in his early days he made some posts in the German board but after that he seems to have posted in English. As for him not becoming a Legendary member, I have the same sentiments. If he were to return, I hope he will make it to Legendary member because he does deserve it.

I thought about that before creating this thread. Maybe you are right and it is as simple as that Smiley

There was just a genuine concern on my part which would have been addressed if someone was in contact with him outside of the forum. There are many possibilities for not using the forum over several months, I hope he is well and taking a break rather it being a case of a problem that has occupied his time.

Life just sometimes happens with no warnings or preparations. A while back, something unavoidable happened to me and just found myself off the forum and not active here for some days.
That is also a possibility, it has happened to me too as far as days are concerned but never for months. Life can sometimes bring issues without warning or preparation and keeping that in mind I hope he is well.

I would be worried if the users are in high paying campaign, but didn't post and then get kicked out, this mean there's something wrong in their real life.
That is another aspect, if members were in campaigns but were absent it would be different. From what I have noticed, that usually happens when there is a loan default (or even an alleged account hack) and that does not seem to be the case here.

I was looking at some threads today when I saw a post by decodx and it got me thinking. I had not seen any new posts from him for quite some time therefore went to his profile and noticed he has not posted since the middle of June. He has an almost one month gap between May and June with just one post. If I am not mistaken, it is unlike him to have that length of absence.

Is anybody in contact with him outside of the forum? I hope he is alright.
