I have so many problems with this thread, other than the fact of who it came from.
Firstly, are topics aiming to address someone's inactivity really appropriate for this board? If anything, it belongs in Meta because that's exactly what this is -
garbage Meta discussion, as it has nothing to do with decodx's reputation.
Additionally, JollyGood, what if decodx in the worst circumstance, has been injured or passed away, or maybe lost a loved one, or something drastic. Do you think he would really want his personal and private affairs to be divulged and discussed on Bitcointalk if it weren't to come from himself? People generally struggle or prefer not to open up to their friends and loved ones over tough life circumstances, and people generally don't appreciate being pried about their personal circumstances...they prefer to divulge themselves when they are comfortable...so what makes you think that you have the right to create a discussion surrounding the reason for someone's inactivity? Don't you think that's a bit disrespectful to their privacy and also insensitive?
Let's also be real here JollyGood, if decodx was an actual friend of yours, or if he wanted to be friends with you, he'd have reached out on another channel or you'd be able to reach him. Otherwise, you have no right to discuss his inactivity or the reason for it, or prompt/pressure any of the community who is associated/in closer contact/is
actually friends with him to divulge any information about his activity. Only decodx or someone he personally trusts, communicates with and/or gave permission at some stage can do that.
out of smerit. so I'm going old school on the good posts.
Actually, we don't have to say anything about it. He was once a very expansive and good user but suddenly he went offline. It's his personal matter. We can say why he left or why. No because it is his personal opinion what he will do.
Since, he is mentioned here and posted about him if he comes online he will surely see it I think he will write something about his personal opinion let's wait until he says something.

Life just sometimes happens with no warnings or preparations. A while back, something unavoidable happened to me and just found myself off the forum and not active here for some days. I Just hope he is well and is having a good retirement off the forum
Can't seem to see any of his other alternate contacts. Maybe that was what he preferred. Going logging off silently.

I cannot recall engaging with Flying Hellfish directly but definitely do remember reading some of his posts and that avatar of his. We all hope he is doing well just as we would wish for any member that stopped posting without informing us of an impending hiatus or permanent exit.
In the end, respecting privacy is very important therefore even if someone has the means to contact an absent member outside the forum (not saying you do), maybe doing so will infringe that privacy whether we learn they are deceased or learn they did not want to be contacted in the first place.
Yeah, I’m one of them over in collectibles. Thats how I got to chatting w Helliy. I don’t think he was very close w many of us nerds over in that board though. I certainly respect his privacy, not looking to track him down. Just curious if he’s doing alright.
Maybe he disappeared and wants his privacy to be respected

I think the best way to reach him is through his locals, maybe there is someone that could be very close to him in their local such person can check up on him to know how he is fairing, as we know people faces difficulty out there without even voicing it out to others instead they may decide to run it on the low to maintain their respect and privacy just as @Yahoo62278 had already said.
I hope he is fine anywhere he is right away and Thank you JollyGood for checking up on him, at least it's important to always check on the closest to know how they are fairing as we know things are getting tougher on regular basis.
Picture this - You're taking some time offline, you get a call or a tap on the shoulder and they say "hey, your online forum buddies are worried about you because you've been inactive since june, maybe you should check in with them"
Do you feel cared for or do you feel violated or concerned about how valued your privacy is on this forum?...
Best case scenario - Both.
Unless it's coming from a member where there is mutual care and respect. Which is not the case in this thread (in this thread, it's just a fanboy creating discussion about someone's inactivity because he has nothing better to do with his sad life)
I don't know if @decodx is from Ukraine or if he just showed support in his profile - but it is possible that maybe he went to war or something happened to him in one of the attacks. I hope that he is well and that he will return to the forum in the future. However, it's a real shame that he still hasn't become a Legendary member, which he definitely deserves - I hope that will also change.
Pretty bold and dark assumption, way to assume the worst.
This is normal, many users only active when they're in campaign.
Some users who were in high paying campaign choose to abandon the forum or waiting for worthy campaign instead of participating in low paying campaign or not in campaign at all.
I would be worried if the users are in high paying campaign, but didn't post and then get kicked out, this mean there's something wrong in their real life.
This is just my observation in general though.
-1 .... What a thing to say. What if this guy has genuinely been incapacitated from a computer and you're out here saying "he was only here for the money anyway"
Insensitive.
