The Experience Layer of the Decentralized Internet
How do telegram groups get so many users - I understand the more established project have build their members over time,
But how do the new groups take off?
Sometimes I think the first 1k members are just bots?
I have been trying to raise the profile of my projects telegram group
but its just so slow.
Does anyone here have any tips and suggestions for getting more people to join?

Only one word, and it is airdrop, the people are really interested for free things, and they will stay if it's something valuable or something thay may change their life.
Yes, I also think that a certain amount of airdrop can attract a lot of people to pay attention to this project in the short term.
That could add to the rapid growth of telegram.

not easy to get others for join a project a telegram chanel, especially as a beginner, nothing bots except bots just make spam.

and I think we must make use of the curiosity of other members by making attractive offers. so they will easily join with telegram.

Do some fake airdrops
No. Please don't.

If you want to have many telegram members just give your channel these.
Definitely it's all about content and the quality of it.

Why not focus in giving projects with other quality service? and not with bots.

Definitely it's all about content and the quality of it. I'd recommend you inviting some knowledgeable people in crypto to add a value to your group. People when they say the value of the group, they do the marketing for you by spreading the word  Cool

Quality over quantity.

Try to also generate good discussions so people keep coming back to it instead of forgetting about it. Aidrops, etc.

It definitely isn't. The biggest telegram groups are completely useless. You can't find any information on them at all because of the spam. The only thing you can read is the pinned post.

It's all about bounties. Offer people coin and they will join any telegram.

You could offer something like an airdrop like giving 1$ for everybody who joins and stay in the group for like 2week period as some of them will forget about it and stay into group I've seen this tactic. Another thing is to try to promote your telegarm group on forums, reddit and social media whenever you can. Be patient as it could most likley take you longer than you have planned. At the end it can really depend on your project what are you trying to do with it and what are you trying to achvite people at random as most of people will find this irritating and will leave your channel and thus you will be wasting your time.

Do some fake airdrops like what this mega-telegram groups are doing to attract more people to join their groups. Or hire some people who offer their service to gather more people on your group.
