you are right
as there doesn`t exist any options for BTC, no volatility is to be measured by that way.
So I will work with the bollinger bands which I like.

I know the bollinger bands and what they are based on.
The VIX is not restricted to options. It`s also for stocks.


VIX is a measure of stock volatility, but it is calculated based on the options market:

Isn't the VIX based on the options market?  Or did you have some formula for volatility?  Just look at the Bollinger bands.  They represent two standard deviations.  Volatility makes them wider.
