Yeah I would want to do this also but seems to its hard getting a PSU with reduced voltage.

The buck converter seems to be the cheapest option, you will need the 40A one.

I'm thinking about picking a few up, and I remember that they can only get really good efficiency when hooked up to a lower voltage power source.
Does anyone sell conversion kits (that accept 12v and put out 9v with minimal efficiency loss) or special PSUs for these miners?

RichBC ended up using two (something like)4.5to7v  adjustable PSU in parallel to PSU to get the desired voltage range, that is probably the cheapest more efficient way. I guess buck converter works too and could be cheaper and it is also discussed there, but those don't usually have a turn pot to adjust the voltage exactly to what you want.
