I am still learning a lot here from many aspects, but in the meta thread more posting about merit. As I understand, merit is some kind of appreciation or sometimes just a gift from someone to other regardless it is contributed to the forum or not. While bounties seems many new ICO there, and I am trying to join one of them. So I think as long as allowed by the owner of this forum, it is ok.

P.S : Hope someone give me the gift... Grin

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)

Merit is given to those posts which are deemed as quality posts by the merit sources.

As far as bounty hunting is concerned, merit system was introduced in order to reduce the endless stream of spam that is used to increase post counts and rank up by the shitposters. Now a bounty hunter can be a shitposter and vice-versa.

If you think you are a bounty hunter, which is again a title you have applied on yourself since it is not a rank or position here, you should work on your post quality and not think of merits being awarded or not.

Its not a question of who deserves what. Its about what quality your posts bring out. You are a newbie here who 2nd post in the forum is about merit. I guess you will end up in the "Ignore" list of many merit sources.

When Merit System was implemented, some people say that those members who participate most in bounties don't deserve Merits,  As their posts are all bounties, now it enlightened me. It means it is still possible for me to join bounties and still possible to receive Merits as long as I contribute in the forum isn't?
Take a look at your post history. Now compare that to the post history of a random bounty hunter.
Of course you can earn Merit for good posts (I just merited you).

The typical "bounty hunter" on the other hands only posts links to Facebook and Twitter. If it were up to me, they'd all be banned.

Or, as Lauda puts it:
So bounty hunters cant participate on this bounty sir?
There is no such thing as a bounty hunter (made up, self-entitled position); there are only spammers.

Being a bounty hunter is not a bad thing and it'does not imply the person is a spammer as well.
It's very rare though. Most people with "normal" forum activity don't care about bounties, and won't spam the forum for it.
Take a look at some of the people posting in Bounties (Altcoins). Barely any one of them has earned even a single Merit.

Why not ?
Being a bounty hunter is not a bad thing and it'does not imply the person is a spammer as well. Bounty hunters are welcome here and even most of the high rank members do bounties. But spammers are not welcome here. Unless you are a no spammer and you contribute to the forum, doing bounties is not a problem to getting merits.

As long as they are contributing to the forum and not doing the worst thing that users can do which is shitposting then they deserve some merits.

That's true, the main purpose of this merit system is to lessen those shitpost or those account that makes a nonsense topic. But as long as you follow the rules you are eligible to receive any merits 😊 it doesn't matter if you are bounty Hunter what matter is, you can contribute to improve more this forum.

You can consider, from a certain point a view, the merit system to be a bounty for the forum.
So, taking this into consideration, now that you are a newbie you are eligible to participate in only one bounty and that is the merit bounty. But this is one of the hardest bounties that there is here and you really need to do some work in order to get paid.
The rules are pretty simple and they apply even when you will participate in a bounty to some project:
1. Do not spam
2. Write only useful posts that are on the OP subject.
3. Read the topic before posting because maybe someone already gave the answer before you.

Actually, I'm doing this campaign right now, that requires posting in different sections of forum and specifically in Beginners & Help. Thanks to this rules I've discovered some interesting parts of this forum, and making quality posts there got me a few mertis. This is how signature campaigns should look like, cause it helps users to learn bitcointalk more.

Yes, if they contribute to the forum.

Exactly, it doesn't matter that whether you are getting paid for it or you are doing it voluntarily, the thing matter is quality and contribution to the forum. If you are earning through bounties by contributing well in forum discussions then no one will have a reason to point on your earning or signatures you are wearing.

Let's say it this way - Those who already have enough Merrit can cash in on bounty activities. And no one cares about the quality.

The others? Can never deliver enough quality to get enough Merrit. And they should refrain from being so honest that they also want bounties. Because then they get no merrit.

The first people in here are the winners in this solution. Point.

Well, i have seen many of these questions. First thing is, merit is not some racist or discriminate people (things) with a serious hate problem toward a specific person. Merit is for everyone, who is worthy. How do you make yourself worthy? Make some contribution, a good contribution, not only just making bounty posts or normal posts, but engaging with others, sharing idea or point of view in a polite way, trading, etc. But one thing to keep in your mind is that making a contribution is just increasing your chance to get merit.

Yes, if they contribute to the forum.
Oh Really? Actually I'm participating bounties in the past before Merit System was Implemented and then I stopped for a month. When Merit System was implemented, some people say that those members who participate most in bounties don't deserve Merits,  As their posts are all bounties, now it enlightened me. It means it is still possible for me to join bounties and still possible to receive Merits as long as I contribute in the forum isn't? I fear joining bounties since when I heard that I won't be able to earn Merits because of bounties, but because of your words Mr. Darkstar. It really enlightened me Smiley

You should be patience upon this matters and just keep doing your kind of contribution. As i said, making good contributions will increase your chance to get merits. Keep that in mind. It is better to have a higher chance rather than not.

This kind of reply post is a specific answer, and in additional to it, bounty hunters has some task to do to get the bounty they want, and most of the bounty giver ask to search or to look for someting they can't do by themselves and what is known is the bounty campaigns, you have to finish the quota requirement and while a bounty hunter is doing that if He/she wants to get merit then constructive and quality post is added to earn merits, that's how it goes.

It depends what kind of bounty hunter you are. If you are making good posts, contributing to forum, helping to other members and etc, you deserve to get Merit, and it doesn't really matter if you are bounty hunter or not.
But if you are making low quality posts just to get paid, most of your posts are just social media bounty reports, then it's not likely that you will get Merit Smiley
Every post in this thread, aside from yours and DarkStar_'s is completely garbled nonsense, and those are the kinds of posts that are never going to earn merits.

OP, take note of that.  If you're going to be dabbling in the English section here, you really need to work on your English--because it's pretty bad, and you're not going to earn any merit whether you're a bounty participant or not.  People don't hand out merits for shitposts, and you can take that for an ironclad rule here.  And if a shitpost does get merited, people are going to start getting suspicious.

Bounty Hunters and Merit have no relation, Bounty hunters can both join bounty campaign and earn merit.
One bounty campaign have high quality is the signature campaign, to join this, you must wear the signature and make at least 7 constructive posts per week, i didn't see any campaign require lower posts. If someone successfully completed a signature campaign, they had contributed some quality things to our forum, i believe that. And when you make high quality posts, you can also earn merits.
This is my opinion.

i'm agree with you sir... and i know, before someone give his sMerit to others he will check the recent post and all about their profile... and thank you before, cuz you give one to me now i was more motivied to make a good and quality post(but i think till now i was never make it even 1post),
i think if someone who was have same thought with me will more motivated to make this forum to better and that was if someone give his merit to them,so I think their motivation will be much stronger(because someone who want to make an income from this forum and want to make this forum to a better will be work more hard to achieve their goal, such as raising their rankings).
