Why I will never buy RX580s for mining

1. Not future proof, it's old and it has an older architecture.
2. It consumes higher power per megahash.
3. It's less profitable on other algorithms compared to Nvidia

Why I will buy RX580s for mining

1. Dirty cheap, like 130$ each

Hi guys, I already have 6 rx580 8gb that undermine eth, does it make sense to buy other used ones? not for fear that it goes to eth2 but that maybe the 8gb are obsolete? I pay her 300 dollars

Thanks
There is no point in buying old equipment. rx580 is an analogue of rx480, but rx480 mines coins better in my opinion. If you want to buy graphics cards, then buy only modern GPUs at good prices, or buy old graphics cards that are very cheap if you can test them.

No it's not a good buy, unless you have free electricity and each rx580s costs 150$ per card, if you can wait some weeks more I'm sure you will be able to buy some rx6600xt for less price.

Both new and old graphic cards are already flooding the market right now and I'm kinda happy about it, 8GB VRAM still has a long way to go if ETH 2.0 merge never take place in the coming June so dont worry about it, till this day I still buy graphic cards with 6GB VRAM.

You can do Eth mining with 6Gb cards until February 21, 2024.  After this taih, malsef will no longer be able to earn Eth on these cards.  It is possible to continue the path with any algorithm other than Eth.

It makes sense yes the 580 8 gb are excellent cards for mining perhaps at the present time the price is a bit high i would say 180 $ the right price

The only downsides to this card are the price that is being offered to you which extremely expensive nowadays for such card, the maximum I would pay for this is like 170-180 USD for a 8 GB version.
Secondly if power consumption is a problem for you these cards are not as efficient as new ones like Rx 6600 which only consumes like 50 watt.

If these do not bother you then why ask,go ahead and buy them, even if Eth goes to 2.0 there will always be Ethereum Classic to mine,it means it will not be obsolete.

Buy Rx570 8Gb instead of Rx580 8Gb. This card has a lower TDP. You can do the same mining with the Rx570. If you are going to purchase a used card, the ROI period should not exceed 3 or 4 months. If this time has elapsed, do not use it. This doesn't make any sense. The reason you chose the Rx580 GPU is because of the cards you use in your hand. I'd say take one of the new model cards instead.

you'd better get a second choice one, try it first and lets everything goes well.

yeah I would say 150 is good. not 200 and certainly not 300

I have seen 6600 new cards at 399 and lower they would be better.

heck I would sell him 5500xt at 250 he would be better off.

this ebay seller has 5500xt at 309
https://www.ebay.com/itm/275257442823?

I could sell some at 250 if the buyer was USA based.

Anything makes sense if price is right, only you can decide if it makes sense, to me at that price, it does not make any sense, at 200 usd is not bad at moment.
