@BitcoinHodler
I define it by checking if the digital currency broke out.
Broke out of the bubble we have here that is small group of enthusiasts / profiteers etc.

I looked not long ago and seen 2,300 users here logged in per day.
Guys come on get a grip.. that is nothing !

You need to classify success as getting at the general public out there.
If the success of your "coin" hinges on forum topics here you're in a lot of trouble.
If you think "FUD" can destroy a coin then you are out of touch with reality !

All this forum crap doesn't matter.. at all !
The only part of it that SHOULD is if a user in the general population ends up coming here to get wallet download or something.
A properly successful currency will have such a strong hold beyond this forum
that what is said & done here should have little value aside from a code changes etc.

This has been blown out of proportion..
The sun does not rise & set on Shills spamming about coins HERE so they can check centralized exchange coin prices.

Some shit coin being compared to the price of Bitcoin on an exchange is meaningless.
It shouldn't even matter at all !
It does ? Then you all missed the point entirely.

i don't agree with all the things Spoetnik said in two above comments but this much is true: you have to define what success is first then decide if it is scam or not. many think if success as price going up to the moon (1000%) or being number x on coinmarketcap list sorted by market cap.

to me success means:
1) coin which can stay alive for a couple of years at least.
2) coin that has some real features to offer, not something that only sounds good but it is not practical.
3) a coin that is adopted in those years that it stays alive and not just being traded as in buying on exchange, hold, sell again for profit to get out.
4) and the important last, the coin should be spread among users not only a couple of rich holders who are holding more than 80% of the coin and the rest only having a small portion of the market and have no say in the price as the result.

By the way.. Doge accomplished nothing outside the Crypto bubble.

DOGE has accomplished a lot outside of crypto whether you want to admit it or not. Your endorsement is not required.

And when are you all going to figure out that the only opinions that DO matter are the general public's ?
If the majority of the world thinks coins are scammy then you sitting at Bitcointalk calling them idiots

I agree with this. People on here seem to think they can force cryptocurrencies on an unwilling public. Never going to happen. We must bend/adapt our tech or die.

If we don't start growing up and producing safe usable tech then the banks will take blockchain tech and show us how to do it properly. Then we'll all be properly screwing.

there is something called "healthy growth", and every time a crypto pump 1000% from day to night, it will raise suspicions.

I think every coin has been called out as a scam at some point.  I dare say even bitcoin did back in the day and some non bitcoiners may still Beleive this.

It does appear from my experience that big money markers are called out as  scams all the time some examples are ethereum, waves, dash in fact id be harder finding one that's not been called a scam.  Sometimes the coins that get the most scam reports are the best ones to buy into though because people are just trying to manipulate the market to buy cheaper Themselves.

a few users here still say bitcoin is a scam  Grin Grin Grin Grin
Those users who say bitcoin is a scam are complete fool. Then why they are here.they should just leave.
After some continuous years bitcoin is progressing every year so now so one can say that bitcoin is a scam.Ya at some point bitcoin may be called scam when it was new.But now it has shown that its the best.

You guys are delusional..
You are unaware that all of Earth thinks Bitcoin is a Ponzi / Pyramid Scheme.. used for for drugs & guns.
And there is *some* truth to the reasoning so i get why the public (not here) thinks that.
I know..
I have talked about with people on the street in all ages groups all over.. they ALL say the same thing.
Not even 1 person in 3 years had a good thing to say about Bitcoin. (when i talked to people in person)
And you all think any of these Altcoins can & will be perceived in a better light ?
LOL i think not.

These are issues that are far out of your scope kids..
This is the reality that Altcoins face that you are oblivious to..
You don't stand a chance in hell at addressing any issue if you don't even know it exists.

Reminds me of the ignorant little morons who all chanted in 100% unison way back in 2013
when i warned them about regulations coming..
They all said so what fuck 'em they can't stop us and we don't need ties to FIAT.
Oblivious delusional morons..

I was proven right 1,0000x times since 2013
And i laugh at them now as they NOW agree with me LOL

Why do you think Cryptsy handed over your personal info to FED's ?
Why do think Ripple got fiend by Fincen ?
Why do think the SEC issued an Investor Fraud Warning Alert ?
Why do you think Localbitcoins users have been arrested by the FBI ?
Why do you think Cryptsy is under receivership ?

Regulations.. and i warned you all Wink

By the way.. Doge accomplished nothing outside the Crypto bubble.

And when are you all going to figure out that the only opinions that DO matter are the general public's ?
If the majority of the world thinks coins are scammy then you sitting at Bitcointalk calling them idiots
is not going to improve that situation and there for improve adoption now is it my smart little scammy profiteer kidiots ?

Most small coins are scams too but becvause they are small people don't bother pointing it out all the time. But if your coin is kinda in the Top20 and has a flaw or is scammy that will certainly be pointed out which is a good thing because it's the only means investors in this crap have to protect themselves.
If you aren't very sceptic you're not financially survivng in this environment longterm.

Your definition of success is laughable.

Is bloated manipulated block chain MarketCap's an indicator of success ?
The price of some scammy shitcoin traded on scammy centralized exchanges = success ?

Clearly YOU DON'T GET IT !

Your a profiteer living in scammy little ICO profiteer world.
Completely unaware of the real world or.. the history of Altcoins.
Or the point to this scammy ass gay bullshit.

So since you guys are clueless i will tell you..
The point is not to achieve a high Bitcoin value with your shitcoin token..

The point my scammy profiteer investard scammy ICO aficionado friends is ADOPTION.
..by people outside this scammy ShitCoinTalk.org bubble. When are you all going to get smart ?

But most of the successful cryptos ARE being used outside the inner crypto circles, so adoption is happening. You've hated DOGE for years but few crypto projects come close to it's level of adoption (in the real world). You gotta be consistent in what you say.

You disregard market cap, but market cap is akin to TV ratings. Yes, some TV programming is for the highly sophisticated and gets critical praise but if no-one is watching, it gets canned. This is the same for crypto. Success has to have some measure. Market cap is what we have at this time.

What do you suggest as a measure that we can all use??

If you create www.coinmarketadoption.com I will use it. But it doesn't exist right now.

Well most failed crypto also gets labled as scams. Usually by the people who lost money on it.
Imo there is still a big difference between a project not going to the moon and a scam.
Most startup companies fail. It does not make all startups scams either. Why should crypto be any different.

There are many spreading false/misleading information for their own gain.
Never put too much weight on free advice.

Besides over time we have just witnessed more and more intense and powerful market manipulation.
So the gauge of success you ARE using is flawed beyond belief.
If you can't see that your are blind !

As far as i am concerned the ONLY Altcoin that got any success was Litecoin.
And it never did do much either..

When are you all going to get smart ?

If there is no reasonable evidence indicating a scam has taken place then it would be impossible to logically argue the case that it is a scam.
Unfair is another matter.

success merely brings greater attention/analysis to this evidence.

BTC was declared a scam and pyramid scheme for years by the haters. ETH is no different in the amount of hate it gathers. It's all water off a ducks back when you go long on ETH. Gud times for all hodlers.

No crypto does well without being called a scam. Not one. The bigger the success, the louder the screams of SCAM SCAM SCAM. I know the usual accusations of missing the bus and feeling butthurt, but is there any crypto project that has made it and not been called a scam by the 'usual' members on here?

Is there something systemic wrong in our community that we can't applaud success? That's an obvious statement/question but can anything be done about it??
