Jews were considered and still are considered good with their brains.
Russians are too considered good with their brain, many successful american companies being the mastermind of Russian immigrants.
Now we're talking about Indian and Chinese scientist.

Does heredity have an effect on the brain?

Of course it does. As we are made from cells and dna and genes. Our bodies come from the bodies and brains and cells of the genetic makeup of our parents and the lineage that they have. It is very surprising and fascinating how we take into consideration that our personality and self comes from lur past.

Genes can not affect the mind and diligence of a person. Genes can only affect the appearance of a person, and everything else depends on the conditions under which it is brought up.

Does heredity have an effect on the brain?
I think the intelligence of a person's brain is influenced by the inherited genes, but we still have to study hard and continue to hone our brains to keep that intelligence.

Yes, it is affect brains because being smart can be inherited through genes, but environment can change it because if your parents are not smart but you work hard to study you can be smart.

Does heredity have an effect on the brain?
Itis much the case that the offspring seem to have an effect on one's brainpower, but not on everyone because even though a descend may have different brain abilities.
I think many factors affect the ability of a person's brain, not all children born from smart parents have the same ability with their parents, they can be just as smart, smarter or even less smart at all.
Smart parenting, good financial support, and a good school can produce children with good brainpower.

It depends on the on the trait that is being passed on. The human genome allows for wide variability of traits, but to some degree things like personality, intelligence, etc can be passed on to the next generation (this can be tricky to measure, due to the impact of culture and environment). There is also something called regression to the mean: if someone has a very unusual trait (like very high intelligence) it is more likely that the trait will be closer to the "average" in the offspring.

I dont think so. Brain capability has bothing to do with heredity. Humans learn throughout their lives and it depends on the way they acquire knowledge.brain capability isnt passed off to its descendants but illnesses are.

Factors that can switch through offspring are ,intelligence
But intelligence does not begin with offspring,
Environmental factors greatly affect a person's ability
That is, if we are in a smart group, our brains will follow their intelligence

Heredity is the starting point that may happen give rise with the brain but the environment and practices can help to be fully develop a brain.
if that happen then the child that raised in some practices while its still young then it will be develop more.

I think heredity may have an effect on the brain but it takes the environment into which one is born for whatever was inherited to be manifested. for instance, one may inherit some business skills from his parents but if he finds himself in an environment which is not business friendly then he can not exhibit those skills.

What do you mean "good with the brain" Are you talking about intelligence? IQ? G-factor? Earnings? Nobel prize winners?
Elaborate and I can help answer the question.

Does heredity have an effect on the brain?

Go look up the book The Son Also Rises. It caused quite a stir because some people complain it reeks of genetic determinism.

Back to the Jews, it argues that because they put high value on literacy (they can read and write at a time even European nobles are illiterate), they selected for those traits when marrying, which is what caused the stereotype of the wimpy but witty Jew. I believe it also mentioned a genetic disease affecting the eyes that somehow seem prevalent among Jews but I forgot the name.

In a way it can i think. Though as time.goes by, people practice and probably can improve their intelligence. There are many cases wherein the parent is extremely intelliegent and the child isn't and the other way around but studying diligently makes the difference

YES heredity is being pass theres a percent that  a child will adopt the capability and talent of their parent be own!
yesterday at the news here inn my country there's a parent of \2 chess players and has a son with an age of 3 years.. who can beat 10 opponents simultaneously .. hedefeated 10 8 varsity players and 2 coaches with a 10-0 record in lessthan 30 minutes Cheesy how can you explain that ? knowledge and talent can be adopt but still it is the parent who will develop it on their young age!

The latest research in genetics show that there is no connection between heredity and brain capability.
The reason of the fact that you've mentioned hides in educational system. In USSR schools children were taught almost every single aspect of those times science without testing child’s predisposition. This could cause major psychological deviations, which were not counted at that time.
So yes, erudition and general knowledge of people from former Soviet Union can be higher, but there is nothing related to heredity.
