So my girlfriend's dad owns a $2 or $1 USD note from when they were still backed by actual silver before the Fed was privatized and I wanted to ask if anyone in the community knew if they have any value. Anyone?
These are called silver certificates.



They are collectable for sure, but not rare enough that you should consider selling it (yet). I see them for $30 in good condition at a coin store near me, and they charged me $6 for a 1943 steel penny (worth about $1.50 I believe).

If they're just paper notes then they'll probably be worth nothing, you might be able to sell them off to a collector perhaps but that's about it but I'm no expert.
