Yes he was lying to you caused by that addreeses owned by kucoin. if he was making a transfer from such address that means if he was making transfer from kucoing exchange site. Those wallet only owned by kucoin and none was able owning or have access to those address.
You shall not be trapped with it. it's an old strategy to fool you. Think about that. The creator of transaction has kucoin account.

I assume you are gonna do "P2P" transaction with him. That's why you are asking about to him, for this for the verify of his word.

Sign Message the only way to prove that, he own the address by making sign message under the address with his name—however, my advice since you want to transaction P2P better to use a middle man.

One of the important rules, in the internet transaction no matter how much the money. Use MM, for your safe security.

can I ask him to transfer worth of few dollars to my wallet to prove ownership?
It's just like you're now become the scammer, not him.

There's a chance if he send his coin to your address, Kucoin use the address listed on the link as the sender address and you will believe if he's own the address, while the truth isn't. This mean send few dollars to your wallet still not able to prove ownership.

I am assuming that these addresses are all owned by Kukoin and if someone is telling me that they own one of these addresses is lying to me.  correct?

Correct. I am very certain that it is a scam attempt directed at you.

can I ask him to transfer worth of few dollars to my wallet to prove ownership?

The way to prove ownership of an address is to use a signed message. In that way, it won't requires to transfer fund to establish ownership, but by simply creating a message which signed by the address itself.

I don't know what kind of transaction you are going to conduct, but since you give incomplete information, just be wary of a scam attempt

Yes, why not it's recommended I've done it if its Ethereum and Binance chains you can ask to transfer a few cents if its Bitcoin you can ask him to sign the address if he has an account here and is active in the bounty campaign you can check the spreadsheet of the campaign he is participating you can see the address here.
if he's the one sending first then there is no issue at all, or you can do can hire an escrow to make sure the transaction will be smooth.

Most likely he's lying. Have you tried showing him that the address he's given you is owned by an exchange? Perhaps he will say that he's also using Kucoin but I know the exchange assigns a unique address for each of their users so he  can't really use that as an excuse. If he's claiming that he really owns that much coins then that's already a sign of a scammer. Don't enter into a transction with that person.

Yeah it has been mentioned they're disclosing their hot and cold wallet address, you can check their information on wallet.explorer for Bitcoin and other blockchain explorer for altcoins, usually there's a tag to confirm if the address belong to a centralized exchange.

I'm not really sure what's coin he want to trade with you, if he ask to trade with popular coins, you can ask him to sign a message to prove the ownership.

Someone wants to conduct a crypto transaction with me and I searched their wallet address in google and it is listed on this page:
https://www.kucoin.com/blog/transparency-and-trust-a-detailed-list-of-kucoin-s-wallets

Please scroll down and see the table.  I am assuming that these addresses are all owned by Kukoin and if someone is telling me that they own one of these addresses is lying to me.  correct?
