are stationary "hot spot" web services from certain phone companies. I know AT&T offers one.
It's basically like a router with a sim card, that provides internet in areas that do not have it.
I think it runs at about $20/month usd. Another option would be, buy a burner phone with a
Hotspot. Just leave it plugged in and connected. Mining takes very little bandwidth and you
wouldn't need a BIG plan from a company.
I've heard it eats a lot of electricity. I've also heard it can get extremely hot. I'm at work half of the week and have pets at home. Is the heat aspect a fire hazard of any sort that could happen while I'm not there, and they are? Thanks!
If you are referring to the miners themselves, Yes on both accounts. These machines are designed for industrial use.
They make ALOT of noise, and depending on the wattage, ALOT of heat. When dealing with one of them consider it
like you would an electric heater. Do not place things near them that could easily catch on fire. Do not get them wet.
However, These machines have been improving in design and are becoming much more efficient. The newest machines
have a higher hashrate, and use less electricity, which lowers the amount of heat they produce. Depending on what you
pay for electricity, they can be profitable.
This is an area you need to be fully prepared for. Before even considering mining, it is very important to do some research.
Things like: Cost of Electricity, Electric output of your chosen location, Ventilation, INTERNET, and general understanding of
mining pools all need to be planned out before you invest.
Take a trip to the mining board here, and do some reading. There is a lot of info in that section you will need to know.
