l don't think that ICO has a good future. That is why for some people ICO is dead since few years ago. It is absolutely out of the question. Most investors try to find any new way for investing, which would be more reliable than ICO. But it doesn't mean ICO is absolutely consisted from scammers, there are absolutely some projects of ICO, which are reliable. That is the question there will be people, who will be interested in these projects.

ICO this the air that investors are offered to buy for money.I can't call all ICOS scams but the collective image is just that. Personally, I do not invest in any ICO.

I believe in bitcoin world you do not gain a level, someone loses to you. That is why I think STO was gone, why was it so hot for a while but suddenly stopped? Because, STO required a lot of professionalism, which could be replaced with IEO very easily since the exchanges are purely legal companies based in some nations, when you are that big and legal that becomes professional enough, so if an exchange list a coin you can trust them, at least trust them enough that you will get your money and won't be scammed, it could still drop in price to pennies.

I think IEO's have been doing bad recently, people are getting bored from it, which is when ICO could increase, there is nothing ICO could do to have a future, it is only IEO that could lose its place to ICO.

Looks like the effectiveness of ICO system which is the first and popular method to collect funds for many crypto projects has now passed and no more future anymore and transformed into IEO to avoid possible runaway of investors and exit scam and until now its the most recommended to every projects looking for additional funds.
the more developments in cryptocurrency there will be a lot of various methods for collecting money to make offers and with the creation of these methods I'm sure to avoid scam projects, for now IEO can indeed be more widely used and more profitable.

The crypto market is very dynamic, ICO was once popular and provided many benefits. It's just that, many fraudsters use ICO to make fake projects and embezzle investor money. IEO is now more popular, supported by trusted exchanges, attracting more investors to join. Someday the IEO era will end and be replaced by more effective sales strategies.

Refusing to forget, here are some of the last ICOs. Some of them then held IEO at Binance. Do you know which one?

Good afternoon! In your opinion, how relevant is the ICO in 2020 after many projects turned out to be scammers?
ICO is dead since 2018, stop talking about it because no single new developers use ICO to raise fund anymore, it's now a failed old skool fundraising style, why seeking for ICO when we already have IEO which is better?
Exactly, why is he still trying to look for ICOs while we have IEO. IEO is helping a lot of people make a profit, so focus on joining IEO at the big exchanges. Surely you will be satisfied with it
but in some cases only a few IEOs held at a trusted exchange place can provide a lot of profit whereas IEO at an untrusted exchange place will only cause investors losses. participating in IEO which has a trusted exchange platform is a very good and very appropriate choice.

i think in our time now?ICO is a Bread and butter of scammers and investing in them means you are helping them to operate as many scam as they can.

Let us find more investing that worth here than ICO joining ,and also for now as market is fulling down again?better try to encourage yourself to Hold and not be affected about the movement of the currencies.

No I don't really think that they have future at all since we now have IEO and investor would highly choose it over ICO so I think the ICO era has already ended.
The reputation of ICO has already been destroyed by so many scammers and it is so hard to trust them again and hard to find a worthy project because even if they seems legit we couldn't be so sure about their credibility.

Just to be fair with IEO, they are also being used for p&d just like ICO. The problem with ICO this 2020 is that investors lost their trust because of the rampant scams and it is not doing anything good as far as return of investments is concern.

And we won't go back to the 2017 ICO hype as well. It has died down already, so for me 2020 will be a struggle for ICO. Of course there will be a few that will be successful in the beginning, but it will end up like a p&d scheme.

If you want to throw money out of your pocket, you can participate in the ICO. I don't see any good ICOs and returns for investors, all ICOs have the same ending. They will become scam and make investors lose and disappoint

ICO's reputation is destroyed by scammers, I think the same as IEO will be the same.
At present there are many exchanges that hold IEO and many of them have engineered everything. More and more new exchange days, and I'm sure many of them are scam exchanges.

ICOdrop lists all the best projects. So just go there and look for new projects to invest in, almost all the projects there will implement IEO at the top exchanges to raise funds. Never waste your time with the projects here because it's too risky and you can get scammed anytime.

Good afternoon! In your opinion, how relevant is the ICO in 2020 after many projects turned out to be scammers?

There is no relevance that can be found in ICOs again both this year or the ones to come, my opinion though. My reason for saying such is that, hardly will you see an investor who have been scammed many times by these ICOs investing again not when he can still do same thing with IEO and expect a more better result. So yes, I repeat samething again, ICO is dead and totally forgotten. Not that IEO doesn't have its issues as well, but it offers better chances.
To be fair, IEO is the fruit of all the trouble we got within the ICO phase and if ICO is being replaced by IEO it does make a lot of sense, atleast less and less people losing money since most of ICO or IEO investors are now vigilant unlike in the past where people would just throw their money even if the project is utter garbage.

Good afternoon! In your opinion, how relevant is the ICO in 2020 after many projects turned out to be scammers?
A lot of people have questioned the probability of ICOs to survive in the past, and here we are today and there are so many ICO and a lot of them are still being successful. You might have seen many of them that turned out to be a failure or a scam, but that still doesn't mean they are all the same, there are still the good ones. That's why you shouldn't just jump straight at anything you see, you should always take your time to choose what is right for you. Whenever you're choosing a project, take your time to make the right choice and not jump on anything.

After IEO introduction by major exchanges, ICO is experiencing very hard time till now. But, this forum is facing less spam due to less bounties due to less ICOs on forum. I doubt any good future for ICO until we see a stronger crypto bullish markets. Because, we need more investors to risk on ICOs after their IEO spending.

It is not.
To be honest, ICOs turned down. What I mean is that their reputataion are not really good because of those selfless individuals who only wanted to collect funds and scam investors and participant.

Let's just accept the fact that ICOs today will not be as legit as ICOs before. There are just 1% maybe that is not scam but majority will not be profitable in this 2020 onwards.

Good afternoon! In your opinion, how relevant is the ICO in 2020 after many projects turned out to be scammers?
The ICO market is not doing well despite, in all of the measures that were adopted like the KYC on the project team members, third party audit, etc. Because the investors are already doubting on ICO thats why it is going to the limbo For me, the damage is done already many people were already scammed and losing money with those fraudulent ICO's before including myself base on my assessment ICO won't prosper any more in 2020 Although IEO will be more attractive to invest especially if it was done on the popular and big crypto exchange platform like Binance, Okex, etc.

Good afternoon! In your opinion, how relevant is the ICO in 2020 after many projects turned out to be scammers?

ICO is increasingly marginalized after more and more new projects have opted for IEO. Although many IEOs are not always successful, at least IEO has begun to replace the token sales process and I think new exchangers will continue to emerge because of this IEO opportunity

No, ICOs are dead already. Even though there are some people who actually experienced a successful ICO this year, we can see that they don't last. Most of them end earlier than expected and some are actually exited after the project team received huge money.

It is really damaging the image of ICOs because of the scammers, investors were prefer to invest coins that already in exchange but I'm hoping a good year for ICOs  after this pandemic.
since 2019, ICO has started to decrease. even today, there are very few projects that impose ICO. I think the sale has been updated to IEO. people trust IEO more than ICO. so, I think that ICO will not survive in 2020. Outside the pandemic, even IEO is still quite difficult to develop at this time.

It looks like you are only counting for the scam project but you are not aware if there was a lot of successful icos.

It's better for you to visit this site https://icodrops.com/ and look at the previous ico list and there was a bunch of successful icos. The future is still really bright.
based on the data from this site it can be seen that the relevance of the ICO has decreased significantly compared to 2016-2017, people’s opinion is interesting whether anyone is following the ICO, or many have switched to IEO ?
They indeed started to disappear within those years although I still managed to join some at year 2018, and there were quite a lot but not really as many as you think that time.
IEO replaced ICOs and don't worry, IEO is still a subset of ICO but they just have different means of how they work such that the project requires to comply to the requirements of the exchange before they get listed.

theyve been alot of scam projects since 2017.. then, that the hinder the progress of cryptocurrency in anyway.. I see no reason why it should in 2020.. as a matter of fact people are now more knowledgeable of scam ico's out there compared to last 2 to 3 years

There is no future to the ICO anymore many people did not wanr to invest including me becausw of the scam project.
They are scared and that is natural because they saw more ICO did not pay the investord or even the bounty hunters and I think that is enough reason for us to stop investing to the ICO to not lose your money.
ICO project fraud is temporary. They will quickly disappear after states begin to regulate this type of activity. It is enough to enter the registration of the ICO team or licensing of this activity and a significant part of fraud will disappear forever.
There is still no alternative to an ICO and, apparently, will not. Therefore, with organizational regulation by the states, the ICO will function quite successfully in the future.

Obviously no. ICOs can be scammed easily. Though Once it was very popular but right now
nobody going to buy ICO token/coin instead of IEO. Why should one think about ICOs, when better option IEOs already available in market!!
If you are thinking both are different and you may need to learn more about that. There was also a lot of scam IEOs too. The fact that both scam IEO and ICO will always exist forever until the scammer can be erased from the world.
ICO and IEO have future. IEO can also be scammed easily like ICO. Look at so many scam IEO on p2pb2b
you said scam will exist forever but your hoping that scamer can be erased one day  ?  exist forever means they are permanent but the truth is that no permanent in this world   . scammers can be busted too but only they will be replace by new scammers  and so on...  ico and ieo are only a slang term so we cant say that they are bad but under the term ico and ieo there have many projects   . you can say most of them are bad but few are still worth it   .

Actually it depends on how good the project is, ICOs we're very successful before years. Unfortunately now it has turned as a scam market people lost hope on ICO project these days and they don't want to take risk anymore, rather they invest in trusted exchanges IEO.

Especially binance has turned the limelight's on people's eye and they are already leading from the front in the exchanges they have built a strong trust and belief across the investors.

To evaluate the current performance of ICO, it was just dumb drowning and people never cares so much for them but rather to look into IEO. The market evolves by now and that ICO who's ruining the market will receive also the consequences. As we look into the market today, IEO is getting hot, though we can't deny that some of them fail to achieve their goal/target but people never look like a failure instead, they still believe that devs will work on it. Unlikely, what they look over ICO.

ICO era was done and we are now at IEO, people are expecting a lot for these IEO projects.

There will be a third way to raise money for new project, we know that 2017 ago ICO was the popular money raise money for new project and had made a lot of project that successful and also the investor got a lot of profit, this is the first way in crypto industry. The second way is IEO, this event had been popular in 2019 ago. A lot of project who have been launched by some exchanges and the investor has got a lot of profit as well. So I guess 2020 will have a new way to raise money for new project.

I ain't a pessimist but I strongly doubt if anybody would want to invest in an ICO especially the ones which don't have any products in this industry. The days of investing in ideas written in whitepapers are over, investors are now into products that are working or better still a project which has been able to fund itself to a substantial level before running an ICO.

Good afternoon! In your opinion, how relevant is the ICO in 2020 after many projects turned out to be scammers?
We know that ICO was once popular, and reached its heyday in 2017. ICO's popularity declined when fraudsters used ICO to commit fraud, make fake projects, and then run off investors' money. Investor confidence is declining, it has a bad impact on the ICO project. Until the trend changes and IEO becomes the best choice because it can increase investor confidence, especially what is done in a trusted exchange.

IMHO, ICO can be popular again if public fundraising efforts are supported by TOP exchange. This was done in 2018. But it looks like IEO's popularity is still unbeatable.

Well, personally I think ICO days are over now, you can't rewind it anymore! Investors, bounty hunters all are moved on from ICO sale ideas! ICO or STO both has no investor, both are dead! So, there is no future for ICO projects! Better move on, but listed top coins or invest in top exchange's IEO!

in my opinion not because ico newcomers in Q1 this year did not show good sales and because I have now entered Q2 I think this is not much different, and also currently better projects from IEO than with ICO because this is a little guarantee, but it depends on what launchpad it is for example coming from a sh*t exchange I think their chances of getting fund is very small.

People's focus nowadays is in IEO since they won't need to get a token listed. ICO had been long dead because of the number of scams and failed projects since the end of the bull-market last 2017. There may be some good projects conducting ICOs but I doubt if they can gather enough funds due to bad reputations of this kind of coin offering.

Good afternoon! In your opinion, how relevant is the ICO in 2020 after many projects turned out to be scammers?

The future of ICO ended when binance hosted IEO for bittorent tokensale. People are literally done with Ico's because of many scam exits and the difficulty in know which one is guenuine. IEO offers a bit more of security in as much as the whole market is unpredictable, if you follow ieo's that got listed on exchanges such as binance, kucoin, gate, okex and others, there's always a greater chance that such project are unique and they do have a huge tendencies of returning higher ROI

Literally! ICO is dead and IEO will be soon if a better alternatives to crypto fund raising emerges. Gone are those days we hustled hard to get in on finance launch pad for fetch and matic. Now, I am indifferent to IEOs and I prefer my day to day trades

From recent event its is so clear that the ICO model of crowd funding has hit a rock bottom in 2019 so looking for any ICO in 2020 that will be a success is practically difficult. Most project have shifted to the IEO model if raising funds and that's what it's in vogue right now
The ico model has already started to recover from its bottom again to follow the trend that is still happening with bitcoin. You can see that there was a bunch of new IEOs got successful to raise the funds and again people have become smart people consider they were only taking the trusted project from in the market.
If this positive trend will continue and there was a change for ICO or IEO trend will be very popular again.

I have not also n=seen any project lately use the word ICO, because they all want to be on a safer side. They know if they use it, there will be nothing for them. even if they cannot afford to do their fundraising on a good exchange, they will go for one of the cheapest around and call it IEO.

I personally find it hard to believe that 2020 will be a good time for new projects and even less likely for ICOs since most of the investors will have to take into consideration the fact that soon there will be a global recession plunge - an event which at first was unforeseeable but seems to be closing in with every moment that passes. That's to say that not many people will be prepared for supporting projects which may end up unsuccessful.
most ICOs are no longer a good choice for the money collection process, only by way of the IEO can be the right choice for this year and who have a lot of interest-based exchange-based projects.

Its better to set aside this kind of investment rather than risking out your money just because you do hope for some gains.I'll tell you this,
ICO becomes shit nowadays after that 2017 bull run yet majority of them becomes scam.Come to think that we head up on IEO thing
but this one will turn out to be shit soon.Just to observe even IEO do still struggle nowadays which i cant really blame investors
because getting involved into most projects doesnt give out high probability on making profits.

People are more interested in IEO projects nowadays, but if the ICO project looks solid and having good potential then it can succeed too. The most important thing is the project itself, but people actually trust the IEOs more, because they think the tokens will likely get listed faster in exchanges.

I think after the new cycle of bull run that seem to have started i expect a new wave of ico trend as well so i think in later part of this year and 2021 we could see a surge in the icos again and most of them will be legit because many projects are on hold due to long bears in the market and now due to pandemic so icos are here to stay it is just the slowness of the market which can change anytime.
I think fund raising by ICO is not very efficient anymore because there are no interested parties anymore, many are now starting to turn to the IEO method which according to investors can be safer and more profitable because of gaining trust from an exchange that helps the coin offering process.

It looks like you are only counting for the scam project but you are not aware if there was a lot of successful icos.

It's better for you to visit this site https://icodrops.com/ and look at the previous ico list and there was a bunch of successful icos. The future is still really bright.

I don't think the future of ICO projects is still bright! Once Icodrops, Icobench were trusted source to find ICO projects! Now Icobench is dead and Icodrops has changed their motto. The past was really great for ICO, but this year or the future of ICO is dark !

Possibly yes, since IEOs are raising funds if the projects gets launched on reputed exchange but most of the investors moved to existing coins since they lose all their capital amount when they invest their money on new projects so people prefer investing on coins with highmarket cap value.

I think the ICO hype has been lost since many scam projects failed in 2018 because at that time the scammers took advantage of the hype and only wanted to get money from investors after they fled, all of which were almost replaced by IEO. And it's also very rare for me to meet projects that are still launching ICO this year because investors are already afraid of being scammed or false promises about listing on the markets/exchanges.

Good afternoon! In your opinion, how relevant is the ICO in 2020 after many projects turned out to be scammers?

The pure truth is that ICO has no relevance because investors are no more buying ICO, rather they buy IEO or any for of fundraising Aside ICO. There cannot be any audience for an ICO project, no matter how good the problem it is solving is.
It will be better for a good project to go through other channels of  fundraising programme than to use ICO as a way of funding the project.

it depends on the project itself if the project is made with a good goal or has a clear development then it will be needed no matter how many ico's come out each day.
but if only for profit, some people still follow, but most are not in demand anymore.

In 2020 we still have potential ICO but just few of them that really take seriously the project. But, its hard to find out what the good ICO nowaday, i think just 1:100 we can find the good one.
Beware if you want to participating in ICO, using your free money and avoid if them if you think they aren't proffesional.
have you seen the news about KingCasino ?, KingCasino got $ 21 million from Round 1 in their ICO, this is a new history for 2020,
maybe investors will prefer a gambling platform for their big investment in 2020, this is amazing

Most of the project listed on ICOdrop do not actually do ICO but IEO, especially recently. Ferrum network is the only ICO on the website since August others were IEO, however, high percentage of the project raise fund through private sale before the IEOs. Private sale is mostly for high capital investment and sometimes longterm holders.

Good afternoon! In your opinion, how relevant is the ICO in 2020 after many projects turned out to be scammers?
The relevancy of icos has fallen since 2017 and it is not really surprising to understand why, many scammers saw the opportunity and began to create a lot of projects and to their surprise they got a lot of investors, but since those projects never had any future they began to fail and people lost their faith in icos and even more importantly they lost their money, people that watched over these events are aware of this and warn everyone about the dangers of investing in icos, and when you have such bad publicity coming to you all the time it is not really a surprise that icos are not relevant anymore.

Good afternoon! In your opinion, how relevant is the ICO in 2020 after many projects turned out to be scammers?

I guess the era of ICO has ended, and I think there will be a new form of ICO that will launch in 2020. We will see it later after bitcoin halving because that can be a good moment for the crypto market to rise again. If bitcoin price can start the rally, then the new project will have a chance to gain the investor, and maybe the project will have time to success again. But you need to be careful with the scam project because there is many scam project out there, and waiting to get the investor's money.

I think ICOs and IEOs will continue to exist through 2020, 2021 and beyond but ideally i would like if there is some authority that gives a license to each new ico before they can raise funds, this is important to wipe out scams and low quality project that is damaging the reputation of icos and crypto market generally.

maybe there are only a few good ICO projects in 2020, for the next day I don't know about that. but the fact that the ICO project fraud will not stop and the scamers will continue to carry out their actions to deceive the victims. if you are a project investor or project promoter, stay alert before taking part in it.

In my opinion, ICOs are still developing quite smoothly, although there are now many poor quality and scams ICOs. But I do believe that the ICO will grow further in the next few years as the crypto market goes through this "hibernation" phase. Grin

I don't want to be pessimistic, but it's undeniable that ICOs are becoming obsolete, ICOs are like an outdated technology and are replaced with a better upgraded version, IEO. Those who expect the ICO to be able to return to the way it was before will be disappointed.

This is not a pessimistic view ICO has its own flaws which require extensive research on the team behind and the problem they are trying to solve in 2017 it was the bull run so even garbage did several multiple so I think now the investors are very matured and IEO is the best alternative which replaces the ICO at least most of them where exchanges do some due diligence which helps us

It still depends on the project doing ICO, if the project is good but it opted for ICO, the project needs to promote extensively and they should show transparency because investors now don't like projects to do ICO they prefer IEO instead, very few projects are doing good this year because of the pandemic.

Many ICO projects have turned dead or dumped in value since 2017, only those who invested in the ICO and take profits instantly get away with high profits, many ICO projects are dead today, you want why advice? ICO don't work any more, do Research on IEO
Yes, but in 2017 the ICO program was considered lucky by everyone, a year after that all ICOs were discarded and no longer trusted by everyone, and after that everyone turned to IEO, because IEO had proven to be better.

There was a golden time for ICO projects when most of the ICO was successful. But nowadays the ICO idea has broken, after lots of scam ICO, investors stopped investing in ICO projects. This is why I haven't seen any successful ICO since 2019! So, there is no future for ICO in this year! Even ISO is not doing well enough, maybe another sale model will come but until than IEO is the best idea!

I think no more projects are holding ICOs this year, ICO has been ignored since 2019 because the scheme has many problems.

So the conclusion is that ICO is no longer relevant this year.

For now many people have switched to IEO, no longer following their luck in the ICO, because the relevance of ICO has declined sharply in 2019, so now it is clear that everyone no longer thinks about ICO.

The success of the projects really depends on the project itself not ICO's or IEO. If we have an ICO from a reputable company, good product, or idea with good partnership and marketing I guess it will click. But if you start from scratch and you launched an ICO, failure is very expected. Nowadays, investors are very careful about which projects to invest not on projects that the future is not guaranteed. In majority I guess ICO's days are gone.

No, I think that ICO projects are unlikely to be profitable in 2020, and even in my opinion, the monetization with ICO ended at the beginning of 2019. Especially today, even IEO projects provide very low earnings, I think that nobody will care about ICO investment, they will invest and that a really successful project will not reach the public through ICO. In addition, as most ICO projects have devastated investors, experienced investors are no longer interested in any ICO projects. For this reason, I do not think that ICO projects will become profitable again this year. Although my thoughts are like this, you should not forget that exceptions may occur under certain conditions.

2020 no ICO is relevant anymore, because everyone no longer likes ICO now, people prefer IEO on the top exchanges because it is more profitable than taking part in ICO where its origin is always unclear.

We still hoping that some projects will be good this year but a lot of scam projects are immerging rather than legitimate projects and its affected the investors, bounty hunters and crypto world itself. Many didn't trust new projects nowadays. We still have a lot of time this year and I think if the team will be good the project will be great as well. Crypto exchange related projects seems tracks a lot of investors and we need this kind of project this year.

Do people still invest in ICOs? I saw a few recently on twitter, even some modified ICO (selfdrop). Anyone investing in ICO right now is taking uncalculated risk. It's better one follows the trend, why invest in ICO when there are reputable exchanges hosting IEOs? I can only participate in an ICO right now if there is a super legit verified project backing. ICO is obsolete.

Not anymore. They will be probably some who's going to invest but just for sure projects and has a good developers but if it's just a project out of nowhere, I don't think it will be invested by the people. We have an uprising trend and it's with bitcoin's halving.
This is more relevant for this year than any other ICO.

Not one person cares about ICO (Initial Coin Offering) in 2020, the world has moved beyond that staged, and evolved into IEOS, on large, remarkable and solid exchange platforms.

If you want to count scam icos, then i can inform you that there are more than enough scam icos, instead of researching about the frauds icos, just look forward towards understanding how the blockchain works.
