I'm running Sparrow connected to a public server, with tor proxy enabled. I believe this means servers and mixers can't see my real IP address, but just wanted to confirm here. One other question, are there any issues with running a VPN simultaneously with tor proxy, if I'm only using the proxy for Sparrow?
Connecting to public servers is usually bad for privacy. It is true that Tor proxy enabled means that your real IP address is not shown, but they can still see your addresses. Connecting to more of these servers means that more servers may collect more data about your addresses, which It can be used to reveal your real IP address if you look it up using some block explorers.

So be careful or make all your connections through Tor.

Thanks, I'll be careful. Visible addresses is a huge information leak. For now I'm just learning/experimenting on a Sparrow wallet with a small balance. But eventually I plan to set up a private Electrum server.

Yes. It is answered in the FAQ:

In general, yes. It is detrimental to your privacy to use VPN and Tor (see explanation). But if you're using Tor's proxy in the proxy URL, then I believe you'll be fine. Is there any reason to run both simultaneously though?

Thanks for the clarification. I'll turn off VPN when running Sparrow w/ proxy
