Of course anything is possible, I wouldn't be surprised if it reaches even beyond $300k one day. But it certainly won't happen with Bitcoin in it's current form. If Bitcoin doesn't find a place in the system that everyone, including the government, is comfortable with, it's never going to reach anywhere near $300k. A lot of things can change in 10 years though so we never know Smiley

Not really latest news (Sep 2015), but just stumbled on it. Basically World Economic Forum predicts that roughly 10% of the world's GDP will reside on the bitcoin blockchain by 2027. 10% of today's gdp is 7.5 trillion. So if you divide 7.5 trillion by 21 million, that would make each bitcoin worth over $300,000 per bitcoin by 2027.

$300,000 is too high speculation I think. we don't know whether bitcoin will reach that amount or not in 2027. there are still many possibilities. keep patient and watch what will happen.

BTC to the moon is inevitable...
but $300,000 is such an unreal price for bitcoin and it would requri a lot of more investors to buy bitcoin to reach that price.

and 2027! lets just stick to the near future about one or two years and speculate about that.

let people talk as much as they want. i don't believe anything coming from so called "experts" and other "knowledgeable" persons. if you just use your common sense, then you won't even take this serious for a single second. it means that the price has to increase with around $27,000 per year, in order to meet their prediction. no need to hope for things that won't happen.

300.000$/Bitcoin is really too much. Hope naturally that this price will be reached within that year, but I don't think so, because market cap required is too huge. If this will happen, we will be able to consider the bitcoin as new gold, a digital gold Smiley

Its perfectly possible. If you consider that Bitcoin can potentially reach trillions of dollars for a marketcap, you can predict that the price can reach 3 figures in a decade.
Was just going to say, market cap isn't that huge if you compare it to the world's population, not even if you just take the part of the population which has access to the internet.
It will be a glorious moment when it goes over $1000 again, and after that happens it will get some mainstream attention again and people will start to use it as a way to keep their money safe, just like gold/silver.

This is a great news if it will be true. Bitcoin has potential to be world's strongest currency but a growth upto that level depends upon lot of factors and will require huge promotion of currency which is still non existent to many people.

Ok everything is possible to happen is ten years from now but personally i doubt that the price will be this,im sure that it will be much higher than it is atm and bitcoin will be much more popular but 300000$ is insane.

On the other hand look at all the insane things that have happened in Finance and the Economy since 2008. It won't seem insane if it actually happens.

Global Finance does not appear to be on a sound or sustainable footing right now. BRIC investors are buying physical gold at unprecedented rates but their seems to be a cartel of central banks shorting gold using SDR's (Paper Gold) in order to keep the gold price low.

If there is a major shock or correction, these paper gold investments will be exposed as being worthless. I wonder what would happen to the price of BTC then?

Well we don't know what will happen in the future.. but their speculation are unique for me they are keep believing in bitcoin that the price will reach more than i think. as my speculation it can be happen because if our government accept this bitcoin to use locally every each country i think banks will attract too invest they and use bitcoin as investment. or bitcoin will in demand if government accept bitcoins locally..

Nobody can predict what will happen in 2027.There are many factors.

What if another cryptocurrency beats bitcoin in popularity or what if governments ban bitcoin and all

the other altcoins?

300000$ per btc is too good to be true...

If I remember correctly people were saying that bitcoin would never be worth $10 and they repeated the same about $100 threshold etc.
With bitcoin you have to learn 1 truth - never say never. While now $300k seems like number pulled from the moon I wouldn't be that surprised if this prophecy will come true.

Would be worth more since there wont be 21 mil coins available in 2027 and not even the amount you think there would be available either due to coins lost.

Based on those calculations though i approximate for bitcoin to be worth $3000 now it would be about 0.06% of the world's gdp.
