Doge is the only real choice, if you want to limit your options.

Simple math and odds,
are the odds better that
Doge increases to $1  ( a 2000X increase )
or
that Bitcoin increases to $100000000  ( a 2000X increase )
Your profit is the same either way.
The math is good but the odds of Doge reaching $1 is highly unlikely, the price had some huge pump but that does not mean that it will keep on rallying. There are other alts that could give him a much bigger profit than investing in Doge.

The little guys and 3rd worlders are done with BTC ,
Doge is the only real game left, as it has become the major trading pair for all altcoins below $1.
Not true, the trading volume of Nigeria, some parts of Europe, Colombia, Kenya and India to name a few have high trading trading volume.

@OP the price is rallying and it is not a good time to invest until you are willing to take the risk.

Bitcoin has a better upward trend than Dogecoin, that should already give you an insightful view as to who to invest your money into. Yes bitcoin may have price dips and occasional panic sells, but at the end of the day if you're a good holder, and is willing to hold your coins for about 2-3 years. Bitcoin will reward you dearly.

I only have $10000, should i buy doge or btc? Why?

Why don't you buy any other coin instead of doge. There are so many other altcoins which have huge potential and use cases unlike doge which is just a meme coin.
My advice, buy 5000$ worth of bitcoin and buy 2-3 good altcoins worth of remaining 5000$.

If I had to choose between Doge or Bitcoin, I would without a doubt choose Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin is the best crypto until now, even in
a pandemic situation the Bitcoin price continues to rise. So buying Bitcoin is a must, if you want to feel a big profit. Meanwhile, Dogecoin's
performance decreased after reaching ATH. But you have quite a lot of capital, so why do you have $ 10k in capital, not buy Bitcoin and Dogecoin.
Because the two coins are actually quite profitable. But of course the percentage of buying Bitcoin must be bigger, preferably buying 80% bitcoin
and 20% Dogecoin.

My suggestion will be probably you will buy both doge and bitcoin or you will just buy bitcoin only. The hype and the trend of bitcoin right no was seriously absolute in which many people are getting hype because of the sudden pump up of bitcoin and as well as the dogecoin which is been hype by Elon Musk as we are seeing his different tweets in Twitter. You can buy bitcoin and I am pretty sure it will be profitable as long as you are planning it to do as an long term investment.

If you want to loss money over time, Choose $DOGE but if you want to earn a lot in the Future, Choose BTC.

$DOGE is continuously increasing supply monthly and there's a lot of doge whale holders there that bought there bags at a super cheap price. I'm sure that they will sell off once the price hit there target. They are actually what Elon Musk pointing out on some of his tweet.

But you have enough you can split between multiple coins and hedge your bets.
Pick 5 coins, you like and place 2k on each, that way all of your eggs are not in one basket.
Good Luck in your Choices.  Smiley

FYI:
People that think Doge is a joke, are mind-numbed and ignoring the reality right in front of them.
Investing 2k on Doge in May 2016, would have earned you a profit of over $440,000 US dollars.
Investing 2K on bitcoin in May 2016, would have earned you only $225,000 US dollars.
So Doge is kicking bitcoin ass, in the profit margins since May 2016, with no end in sight.
Doge Future is Bright.

Doge has lower transaction fees than bitcoin.
Doge has higher transaction capacity than bitcoin.
Doge is affordable for the global populace.

The Fact Bitcoin has less transaction capacity, ridiculous fees, extremely slow transactions, is the real Joke.   Tongue

Dodgecoin does not have enough support behind him, a project that was created as a joke and will most likely remain so. The jump in its price came from the positive Twitter posts by Elon Musk, but Dodgecoin still has nothing to present to justify the interest of buyers.

Whereas if you are looking for an investment that will bring you big income despite the longer period of time, this is definitely Bitcoin.

DOGE is a joke coin, a meme coin currently pumped from Elon Musk and sheep that blindly follow the mass.

If you have a higher risk tolerance, try some of the popular DeFi/Smart-contract coins. DOGE will remain a joke.

Don't look for why's from us.

Answer it on your own. I agree that on this.

If you don't know what to do, my advice is to don't do anything.

This is the best suggestion that you'll hear. Because if you've no idea of what you're doing then that's a better thing that you just stop and do some research before you put that capital into any crypto.

But you're in a bitcoin forum and you'll mostly get answers for bitcoin. It's a no brainer if that's the other choice.

If you are looking for long term store of your coin then I advice you buy bitcoin and hold but if you are a skilled passive trader then you buy dogecoin as it price easily get pump and also dump so be careful not to buy at the wrong time.

I only have $10000, should i buy doge or btc? Why?

What's your goal? Short or Long term? Risk-appetite?

Anyhow, I'm sure for majority of us, the answer is very easy, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand the BTC is the best asset right now. And we have seen that Doge has been pump so hard that investors specially newbies think that it can go as high as $1.00.

And I guess for those who have been in this game for so long, it's obvious that is pump and dump and a meme coin only. Worth our investment of course, but you need to be very very careful as the risk is very high as well.

wait for bitcoin a little correction, and take advantage of that condition to buy it. take a break for DogeCoin, because we are still not sure after the big hike, it looks like Elon left him. so it's safer to save your money in Bitcoin. believe me Bitcoin will be very significant for this year.

Here's my opinion on both the DOGE coin and Bitcoin.

If your planning to invest a 1000$ the easy answer was to invest it in bitcoin since that is where you could earn a profit easy especially in long-term investment, you can guarantee that price will pump after a few years.

When it comes to DOGE, for me the price pump was just all hype by Elon there is no future for long-term investment in a token that just a joke and no use, investing in DOGE was a complete gamble.

I may suggest you have deep research and don't rely upon other's suggestions because that's your money, not them.  If you really wanted to invest, understand everything, and don't follow the latest trend, it might lead you to a massive loss.

I personally don't suggest any of them right now, there's a heavy reason why I don't.  Dogecoin was involved recently in a pump and dump just because of Elon Musk's tweet.  Probably it's better if you will ask him if when he plans to tweet again the joke memes of Dogecoin it will surely be boosted the price up if he will do that again.  Cheesy

Regarding Bitcoin, IDK when the price goes down since it's unpredictable, we're now on a bull market trend and the current price of Bitcoin was too high, I'm afraid if there's a short correction after this.  But, if your intention is to invest for a long period of time, yes, Bitcoin is good enough than Dogecoin.

The thing is with $10,000.... Into BTC at $60,000.... BTC would have to hit $120,000 before you 2x your investment... Some alts or platform coins are doing 30% to 70% a week or month. BTC may be the better long term hold maybe (though maybe not) but just depends on your risk appetite is.

Why not look at ADA (CARDANO) personally I think this is the best mid cap coin, or Etherium right now, with $10,000 you can by 5.5 ETH and you can can sit back and watch the money come rolling in Smiley

Bitcoin, I think, is having quite of a pattern compared to Doge which is quite unpredictable having spikes in its market price. But if you do trust these two, you are free to diversify or divide that amount of yours into two or more. Proportions will then depend on your own likeness. It could be 50:50, 70:30 or such. There's no rule requiring you to invest on one alone but be mindful of the risk that may be encountered. Always look on the possible consequences to avoid regrets at the end of the day. In any choice you'll make, risk will always be present given that it is investment we are talking about.

If your options are only the two above, I think all forum members here know which cryptos are growing healthily. If you only have $10k, I don't recommend converting everything into crypto. Adjust your daily needs with your planned investment period.

However, no investment advice is guaranteed here, consult your financial advisor.

The reason is the Dogecoin, hyped or not, is a cryptocurrency with infinite supply. ~14M Dogecoins are mined every day, and this number won't change.
Since Bitcoin is fixed supply, with the rise of the demand there's better chance for the price to keep growing, as average, over time.

Exactly. This is all that needs one needs to know to understand which is the more reasonable and intelligent way to invest. Fixed supply and increasing demand will naturally increase the price over the long run, while pump and dump alts like Doge are very difficult to keep track of, as once the hype created by people like Elon Musk dies, it will naturally drop down, most people that are into Doge aren't really invested for the long term/they don't really believe in the crypto. However, Bitcoin on the other hand has a wall of solid backers and unlikely to crash down to zero.

you invest in either or both, you will definitely be profitable...
both are very good and have good potential as well. what if you invested in both of them instead of just one. Bitcoin and Doge coin over the past year have been bullish by 10x. What is also important is that both of them are Elon Musk's favorite coins 'lol'.

If you don't know what to do, my advice is to don't do anything. And I mean it. The idea is that it's you who has to do the reading and don't rely on random people over the internet.
Also if you want to invest, keep in mind that you should use money you afford to lose or to keep locked for years.

This being said, the answer should be Bitcoin.

Doge price chart:

It gets pumped and dumped very often imo. Once the hype dies (which I see dying already), we could see another fall like we saw after all the previous surges.

Bitcoin price chart:

If you notice, while Bitcoin has had its many price dips, it's on an overall upward trend.

Based on this alone I would class Bitcoin as a better investment for long term.

Not to mention, and people often forget this that Dogecoin is a clone of Litecoin, which in turn is a clone of Bitcoin. Not sure about others, but I will never consider a clone a better investment than the original.

Not a financial advice, just my opinion.
