It's a nice little coin - great for microtransactions precisely because it is so cheap and the fees are so low. The majority of tipping on reddit takes place in doge for that reason. It's niche is social.

I did have great fun playing Doge poker many years ago.
Sure it's not worth much but at least it's lasted many year with a steady price i think.
