I have alway hated doge because of its irrelevance and unjustified enthusiasm of first adopters to promote this banality. It has been gradually displaced for emerging altcoins and it would not be strange to be it displaced from the top ten in next days.

Couldn't it have something to do with the rise in the price of Bitcoin? Bitcoin's value went up 20% in one week.

but in value terms, with the available supply of 104,534,121,583 DOGE (104 billion) the price should be much lower than this.

This is a really dumb idea, but it keeps circulating for some reason.

If you have a ton of gold, should the price be lower if it is divided into 1,000,000 single gram coins vs. 35,274 one ounce bars?

Anyway, doge has the 3rd highest daily transaction volume of all the coins, right after BTC and ETH.

and that is all you need to know ... market penetration ... if you name the Top5 in terms of market access Doge is on that list

I like Dogecoin. It has a nice penetration of the e-shop, and that's the only thing that counts to tell the best crypto-currency.

It keeps circulating because it isn't competing with bitcoin. Bitcoin might be like a commodity (gold) and Ether might be a platform for smart contracts, but doge is a pure currency, meant to be used. The large supply means that people don't hoard it. Most tipping is done in doge rather than bitcoin, it is perfect for real currency uses like buying a cup of coffee. Low fees and fast confirmation times too.

lol, what did you expect from Doge. it is as it was before a joke altcoin. and also it turned out to be some kind of a community coin I mean it only has a good community.

also as it was mentioned before the fall is only because of the bitcoin price rise (the USD value didn't change much)

It is surprising that it has come so far, for a coin which was based out of an internet meme.
I guess the strong community was responsible for its survival until now.

Definitely without them Dogecoin won't reach this far and looking stronger than ever.

I actually like dogecoin and I think it could be useful for a lot of things.   Unfortunately that usefulness is getting buried under 1000 tons of shitcoins.  There are just far too many out there and poor little doge is getting ignored.

I totally agree with you with so many coins coming in with a whole new features people are now transferring some of their investment on these newly launch coins but soon they will realize dogecoin still a good investment and an established it's normal for the price to dip from time to time..

In dollar terms it is exactly the same as it was - it is tracking bitcoin's rise against the USD. The Doge/btc value always drops when bitcoin rises against the dollar, and rises when bitcoin falls against the dollar.
