If your goal is to make profit then probably no! If your goal is to support a altcoin then yes!
Doge will be a sensefull investment. When it goes below 30 satoshi. It will happen if at least one big bagholder dumps his holdings. Now its all about waiting who will leave the ship first. This one will save his value, other bagholders will get nothing.
I don't think it's a good investment at the moment.

doge, or any other altcoin depends of their community engage, marketing .. and the ecosystem as whole.
Its still the single most effective way to mine Bitcoin though.

Memes don't have very long life cycles. People get tired of the same joke after a while.
Dogecoin was great when it was doing 20,000btc of volume per day. You could have made thousands of btc just daytrading.
Think dogecoin's moment may have passed but that's a caveated personal view
For a meme-based coin I think http://www.reddit.com/r/nyancoins/ has more upside potential
