The disaster was very heart broken, It was quite unfortunate, imagine the number of persons that lost their lives on the process, the government of Turkey should establish a measure to avert future reoccurrance.

Many people including me don't trust some relief organizations. For example, Turkish Red Crescent have sold tents although they had to send them to the earthquake area on the 1st day of the earthquake.

Unfortunately there was another earthquake happened in Hatay yesterday. Winter conditions forced some of the citizens to enter their damaged houses because the distribution of tents wasn't good enough even though 2 weeks passed after the big earthquake. And unfortunately there were people who were trapped in the wreckage again yesterday.

It's shocking to see what happened in Turkey and Syria. Watching videos of huge buildings full of people falling down in few seconds is one of the scariest things that you can see. It's already confirmed that over 23 000 people lost their lifes and sadly, this number is still increasing. It's miracle that some people are still getting taken alive from rubble after few days, considering that had to spend it in cold, without water and food, seriously injured.

I also donated to AHBAP* and I recommend you NOT to donate to any other organisation because most people here don't trust the government organisations like Kizilay and AFAD. Kizilay (which is probably the most famous charity organisation in Turkiye) has a history of giving the donation money to another charity organisation (Ensar) which abused children, and AFAD has a manager which is simply not capable and possibly corrupted.

Türkiye and Greece are the same people living on both sides of the Aegean Sea. It's quite natural for them to come to aid after such a natural disaster. When a similar disaster happens to them, as their neighbors, we go first as usual. Except for some politicians and fascists, there is no one who sees hostility between these two countries and their people.

In addition to that, aid comes from Canada to Japan from all over the world. We are grateful for that.

After a catastrophic earthquake, everything fell apart in moments. The loss of loved ones in the span of a moment will be mourned for a lifetime. With the passing of time, the assurance of life is gradually reducing. 72 hours have almost passed. The tears of losing dearest seem to be getting heavier. Rescue work is underway but much remains to be done. This situation seems to increase the grief. Aid is coming from different parts of the world, but is it possible to quickly help the people under the rubble? Everything will be reconstructed once a time but those people will never be seen.

This one incident in Turkey has moved the hearts of people all over the world. Suddenly on the newsfeed I see a huge magnitude 9 earthquake in Turkey and the roads and all the buildings under construction in Turkey have collapsed. I know why this news was difficult to accept. After a while I can see what tragic situation has been created in Turkey. How people are buried under the rubble. One video really touched my heart. Someone might have been buried under the rubble of the buildings and he might have been hitting some iron very hard with something to attract the attention of the rescue workers so that the rescuers would realize his presence. The truth is very tragic. May God give patience to those who lost their relatives in this accident. What we have to do now is to stand by Turkey and those of us who cannot financially stand by Turkey, pray to God that this situation will be normalized very soon.

This earthquake in Turkey has shaken the hearts of people all over the world. It will not be wrong to say that this earthquake is a tragic earthquake in history. As a humanitarian volunteer and I am also involved in various charity activities that have taken place and more or less I understand how volunteers work hard to help the people there. This is a tragedy and I can totally relate. I live in Japan and here this can happen any minute, it's just a matter of time.

I have witnessed the 2011 Japan earthquake myself and that was one of the scariest moments of my life, and this was only in Tokyo, can't imagine being in Sendai area at that time.

All the friends I have in Turkey are alive and well, I am thankful for that.

Hopefully there will be all the help provided that's needed and the global community stands together in this sad moment.

It is also very likely that the electricity in the city was cut off to prevent further damage such as fire so that the communication network was somewhat hampered.

I was very distressed to see some videos of the earthquake in Turkey that I saw on social media.  Because I saw that many people died in this earthquake, I couldn't hold back my tears. Until now, some person's are still missing and they  likely trapped in the fallen buildings. You should publish BTC address because we have seen previously that most of users donation was come from Bitcoin. I haven't followed much news about Turkey and its crypto regulations so far, but if regulations make it difficult to convert bitcoin to Lira individually, then other cryptos should be the same even if it's done by a non-governmental organization (CMIIW). But on the other hand, if they can convert altcoin like BNB or others to Lira, then they should be able to do it with bitcoin too. But of course it's hard to do it without permission because people probably won't break the rules, but I wish the best and this humanitarian donation goes well.

If I were to publish a btc address for donations I would have to convert all donations into BUSD and transfer it to the addres in the opening post. As one of those who experienced the earthquake closely, we continue to wait with real concern.  There were two earthquakes and their intensity was quite large.  In the earthquake geography of our Turkey, the loss of life caused by these earthquakes still upsets everyone.  I can not reach my close friend, we are waiting with concern.

In order to avoid any misunderstanding, the shared addresses are not under the control of any member of the forum, but belong to a non-governmental organization that we know and trust. Bitcoin cannot be collected at the moment because they don't setup a Bitcoin wallet. Unfortunately the legal aspect of that is a bit troublesome in our country, so it's difficult to collect money and exchange it to Turkish Lira individually.

A terrible tragedy has struck Turkey and I can only say that I sympathize with the Turkish people and hope that help will reach all who need it as soon as possible. A few years ago, less powerful earthquakes also hit my country and caused great material damage, but what happened in Turkey is a terrible tragedy that can hardly be compared to anything else. The situation is much worse than you know. More than 6,000 buildings have been damaged and this is only the detectable number. I estimate that 200 to 300 thousand people are under the rubble with a simple calculation.

Directly distributing the donation is not possible because of roads are damaged and It's very hard to going earthquake zone at the moment. Turkish charity platform Ahbap will share crypto deposit addresses today. It's community based so no trust problems.

God bless you OP. I saw the news and pictures, it was devastating and it will take decades for these cities to recover from the destruction. Your comments are simple and show some signs of integrity. Ensure you keep your records clean, asked Juventus and currently Manchester City about the importance of keeping records. The people of Turkey and Syria need our help and as a community we have to support them. I also expect a member from Syria to create a humanitarian thread. Staying in the cold without basic materials can be fatal. I pray your get the support you need.

I don't see any Bitcoin address, do you know if there's a charity accept Bitcoin or you're want to become a volunteer? I think it's need few trusted pmembers on your local section such like EFS, Bthd, etc to be a part of controlling the multisig wallet.

The only want I need to add is, better for you to directly distribute the donation to the affected people/family rather than giving a money to a charity company because it's not really transparent and forum members wouldn't see if their money are used for good.

I am one of those who live very violently.  The earthquake woke us up at night in our sleep.  We tried to ensure the safety of my daughter, who is close to 2 years old, and moved to safe areas.  Since I was going to work 1 hour later, we felt the need to go back to the building and collect our belongings.  I can say that I have close friends participating in the search efforts since yesterday and the situation is worse than it seems.  Especially since 2 large state hospitals were destroyed in the city of Hatay, those who were injured and died in the earthquake are transferred from the port to the city of Mersin by ships.  A relative of my wife works in Kahramanmaraş and our minds are there.  Adverse weather conditions greatly affect the work.  In Kahramanmaraş, there is an air temperature that goes down to minus 10 degrees at night.  This is the most unfavorable situation that also affects the volunteer helpers.  Searches are generally tried to be made by human power.  Many of my colleagues in Turkey Police officers were sent to the region as reinforcements.  There are problems such as electricity, natural gas, drinking water.  That's why this issue is so important.  There was a flood disaster in Pakistan, which I remember recently.  Apart from that, it was one of the most effective disasters.  Two of the biggest earthquakes in Turkey's history occurred within 9 hours of each other.  I hope it doesn't happen again.  If there are new developments, I will try to write, but right now people are completely focused on the region.

Thanks for bringing up such an ideal idea in helping those affected by the disaster, such is so deadly and unbearable for those who happens to be it victim, i couldn't hold it anymore when i was watching it live on the news earlier, i will also suggest that the funds should be mainly targeted on the affected citizens who had sustained injuries and lucky to be rescued, there could be a visit to their various hospitals, payment for their medical bills and provision of food items for the displaced.

Hello everyone. I hope that I have opened the subject in the right place. Friends, the biggest earthquake in history happened in Turkey which is the country I live in. And unfortunately we have got the information that thousands of people have died. As the time goes on we see the affect of the natural disaster more. We see cities literally falling to pieces completely. We still can't reach our acquaintances living in the area although there have been many hours passed.

Besides people in the area have to deal with the freezing cold now. Therefore I think we can start an aid campaign on the forum to help the people in the area to get blankets, food and tents at least.
