theymos hasnt touched much of this forum for a while, i think he totally forgot to alter pricing.

He just added the green color hover on internal links in the last 30 days!  He definitely didn't forget to change pricing.  That is ridiculous.
Theymos says it wont be changed since the forum really doesnt need it right now

The reason that it won't be changed is that the original donators were promised that it won't be changed.
I remember Theymos mentioning it a while ago.

Why not you can give any amount of course if you think this has help you a lot and if you are a dev of the coin and you've gotten a lot of supporters and investors through this forum it is just right to give something in return here..
Please do not post anymore until you read the following book:

While he did say that he would most likely not change it, I don't think that was the reasoning (I might be wrong). In any case, adding an additional Donation-tier on the new forum doesn't require much effort.

Should I remind you that the USD value is irrelevant and that: 1 BTC will always be equal to 1 BTC?

but the admin could give an address for those who could donate the amount that could
You can donate any (small) amount that you want, but don't expect to receive 'something in return'.

Not everyone has 10 btc to donate, but the admin could give an address for those who could donate the amount that could, but that person would not like VIP, only to donate 10 btc could be VIP

This has been talked about MANY times.   But it is not seen as fair if they lower the price as people paid the old price to get the title in past.  So in a way if they change it is a slap in face to all who paid these prices long ago.   So because of this it has been mentioned MANY times they will not be changing it.

The forum can run off ad's and does not need donations to run... so they are able to keep these prices fair to the "old" accounts that paid these prices.  I would not expect this price to be altered in future.

The pricepoints were set when the USD price was much lower then it is now and was originally intended to be used for hosting which was running roughly $50 per month at the time. A 10 BTC donation would have paid for a month worth's of hosting.

Theymos eventually decided to solicit donations to pay for a software upgrade for the forum, and held onto the BTC donated until it needed to be spent which resulted in a lot of capital gains (price appreciation).

It is seriously 10 BTC and 50 BTC.

Dang! That's crazy for me. So you have to donate 50 BTC to have the usertitle?
Yup, although I don't think many do currently.

Okay. Thanks for explaining. Now, one more question. I see people with 1.7k+ posts that are Sr. Members and you have 700+ posts and you are a Legendary Member. How does that work? Is it donation based?

Its activity based. The more active you are,  the more your rank increases.

So I just looked at the donations page and I saw that you can donate 10 or 50 BTC to get the perks. Now, is this SERIOUSLY 10 and 50 BTC or $10 and $50 BTC? Because if it's 10 and 50 BTC than the owners of the site made $1,353,000 at current Preev BTC prices. They made this much until April 2015 so they probably have some more donations. This is only 10 and 50 BTC too. So there's probably more money as well. Is this actually true? Asking because I can't really imagine myself giving 10 or 50 BTC away as a donation, since that's $4,448 and $22,240 in donations. That's pretty crazy.
