A lot of the rules that apply to protecting your fiat savings apply to Bitcoin as well.

- Never access an account through an email or other link. Log in through the site home page as normal, and then work your way to the page through the site navigation.
- Account managers never ask for your password, so don't give it to anyone who asks.
- If it is "too good to be true", then it is a scam.
- If you get an unsolicited email or phone offer that can't be verified as coming from the account management organisation, then just ignore it.
