If you don’t believe, why are you here?
Sucks dude, it's incredible that you have to use a fingerprint for every big transaction because people are ass holes. Especially in a community of "we hate the greedy banks, but we're just as greedy an thoughtless." I hope the victim can absorb the loss and your reputation can be re-established from "Huh".

This event has got me thinking on how I could prove I am still in ownership of my account.   I don't think I've posted a bitcoin address anywhere before.  I could put one in my sig but that could be changed by any hacker.
Have a look at this thread over here.
(You're right, according to bctaccountpricer.info, you never posted any addresses, or at least those posts aren't available anymore.)

Post one in the auctions section, they cant be edited.
They can be moved and edited though, as long as you're the OP.
Hence I would go with my initial suggestion of the "Stake your bitcoin address"-thread, where another person quotes your post and even if the hacker changes anything at some point, that quote will stay unchanged (as long as the person quoting your post isn't in on the hack aswell).

Going to do this, thank you!  great idea.

I got a couple people who pmd me declining "my" offer to them, i have my post here and one in the auctions section.  Looks like no one sent any bitcoin to that account but it does seem to be an active account with about $9k sent back in april.  So i assume the address was used more than for this scam attempt.  I am under control of my account with a changed password.  Should be good to go.

Can you provide a signed message from an old bitcoin address?

EDIT: For example from this address: 17yGd5v8maVPg3SSizKgnCorNj9JoBHkgn

Dont know which wallet that is from.  Ive signed a message from my Genesis coins series 1 post from May 2015 in the below thread. (Address is listed in the bottom of the OP in the link below)

Based on the password change and signed message it seems like your account is back under control so I've changed my feedback to neutral and will clear it soon.

Is it safe to assume nobody responded to the PM's and sent any coins?

I added a temporary negative feedback to try and add an additional warning, I will remove or convert to neutral if you prefer.
I've also left a neutral feedback for the time being, so people get noticed about it and this thread.

Any idea where/how your account got compromised?

Understood, if it prevents someone from getting scammed then its well worth it.  As far as how i dont know right now how but im looking into it.

Undecided ive netralized the issue, i have perfect feedback and dont want something like this to ruin it.  Im trying to be transparent here.  If you could remove it when all is well id appreciate it.  I strive for perfect satisfaction with everyone i deal with.

hey whats up. i wanted to let you know that i have these for sale at the moment if you are interested:
1x Lealana 5 LTC
1x Lealana 10 LTC
1x F*D Bitcoin Bar
5x Ravenbit Coins (4 grey + 1 yellow)
1x CryptoVest

Bare in mind that the Lealanas are funded so that would come with 15 LTC too.

I would accept 0.92 for all, if you are interested, send the btc to 1JhfWdQ6T5Uehegcbp5CVZv6E7b6xuB7nw and i can pop them in the mail to the same address. thank you

Thanks for the warning!  The aforementioned pm sounded too good to be true!  I'll tell the fake Wheelz to f* off...unless that is the real Wheelz...then I'd be interested...just give me the right address   Grin
