I think that people already learn their lessons on ICO and the reason why the op may have emphasized more on IEO is because ICO market is already not functioning properly, and reason being that many people are hearing bad thing about scammers using the system to steal people’s money and how it is getting more and more difficult to even be able to distinguished between a real project and a bad project.

Now that we still have the hype of IEO, there is need for them to really be careful because people likes to rely on people’s opinion to make decision, and because they feel that exchanges are doing their due diligent, they don't bother even investigating such project again personally which is very wrong off them. So, IEO is becoming so popular more that we really have to be careful of the projects we invest in.

Well, not all IEOs can be trusted because not all IEOs can be successful at the end of the day. With IEOs performed on tier 1 exchanges like Binance and Kucoin, they have high probability of becoming successful because of the high volume and liquidity on such exchanges. Also, these big exchanges run checks on the project and makes sure the projects are authentic before hosting the IEO.

The desperation of people makes them blind to such advises, people wants anything they can risk that could give them quick money and it is this curiosity that kills lost of investors, there are some things they could have just over looked, but in the name of benefits of doubt, they put their money into the system, gets scammed and them blame it on cryptocurrency meanwhile it was their lack of own strategy that made them fail.

Investing in projects in crypto space also requires strategies, and the simple strategy is to associate with trusted parties that are involved in it, and even when associating with trusted parties, we also have to ensure that we do our own thorough research before we get to put any penny into the project and it is only when we are sure that we invest in such IEO, because even those good exchanges too are not perfect, they might make mistake to allow one bad project to scale through their platform.

I prefer IEOs held on tier 1 exchanges like Binance, Kucoin, Coinbene etc because such exchanges have measures put in place to run checks on the project before hosting its IEO on their platform. Youre right being vigilant all the time specially when you are involve in cryptocurrency investment is the best thing to do. since crypto-space has a lot of vulnerabilities that may use by some people to take advantage specially those newbies in these space, when you invest or participate in any IEO just make sure that the Exchange offered the IEO token sale has a trustworthy record for instance i recommend Binance or Kucoin for the safety of your funds.

whatever is most important is always alert. but I don't think that IEO is bad because at this time the IEO projects are listed on large exchanges like in binance most of them have succeeded in even exceeding the ATH price. Many ICO users today choose to participate or invest in profitable IEO.

Cause everything goes both ways, easier access to investors can mean easier way to scam investors too. Nobody is too big to fail, so people shouldn`t be blinded by any promises from the current reputable exchange. I say current reputable exchange cause that can change in second, but when that happen it will already be late for getting out.
I didn`t participate in any IEO`s until now, I don`t plan too. I like to trade and invest in projects that are listed on more than one place.

I feel it's better to invest in old coins or the top coins at CMC because we can analyze the price from time to time, we can get more information about the project, we can know if the project could have potential to increase in the future or not. We can get the history of the project so it will be used to us in analyzing the project. Besides that, we have so many potential old coins that can increase higher in the market. But for the new coins in the IEO, we don't have more information except for their whitepaper, teams, and the project itself.

I agree with you, one has to be careful about investing in projects. I know some new exchanges have been set up to steal from investors as they support IEO on their sites. I'll advise that investment should be done with only the amount one is willing to loose.

People are gullible enough to think that teams who are creating this suddenly changed, its the same people who did ICO who are now doing IEO, I am not saying its the exact same individuals but it is same kind of person that is doing it, different people but same human if you know what I mean. That is why thinking that somehow ICO's are not profitable but IEO's are profitable is gullible, they may look profitable right now but in reality they are still the same thing and you are still risking money on a team that told you they will make a good amount of profit for you but that is purely your trust towards them, maybe they will maybe they won't there is no knowing of how the team will develop the coin, it doesn't matter if it was ICO or IEO in the end you are going to end up with less money if the team doesn't deliver.

If care is really not taking fast, that good thing will really turn bad again for many investors who would fail to also always do their own due diligent even if it is an IEO project.

Many investors are just investing now based on the fact that the project has a tag of IEO on them forgetting the fact that it may also be an IEO for scammers, and I can see some unpopular exchanges too beginning to conduct IEO as if it is something so easy like ICO, and these low exchanges would never bring out a quality project, so what we may still see in the market are projects that have no real use case, except project that comes from platforms like that of Binance exchange and some other popular exchanges that we all know, if I would ask anyone to join IEO, it should be that of Binance.

In general, we really can't trust anything here because of how anonymous people are but you can't deny that IEO is a good upgrade to ICO depending on the platform. Most of the IEO have succeeded and already have exchange to trade with which is important for a project so start with. I think the one thing that people should be careful from is the exchange that a project is in. The higher the reputation, the best result you could get.

Not a good choice of words regarding cryptocurrency world being anonymous, the right words would be very unregulated and that is the real risk.
Yes, IEOs can be bad also , there has been a lot of talks that exchanges are exaggerating the amount of collected money for projects with the goal to get more money for those same projects.

I have seen only Binance IEO more chances to successful but nowadays many other exchanges are offering IEO's but all of unsuccessful, most of the exchanges are new and some are low ranking like Exmarkets, Latoken,idax,hotbit and some other exchanges offering IEO, I suggest don't invest in these exchanges.

The thing is that we should not be fully trusting anything that comes our way not even if many people are doing otherwise. We had been burned with many ICO projects in the past because many of them turned out to nbe scams, frauds or just plain and simple failures. Now, with the coming of the IEO and its popularity, I am sure many scammers are now thinking on how they can ride with the IEO bandwagon and fool people just what they did with the ICO platform. Scammers can be so cunning, creative and persuasive so that we will hand them our hard-earned money.

Although we cannot fully trust in IEOs 100%, but the fact remains that it is still a much preferred option to the previous ICOs. At least now we can rest assured that token sale and money collected is held by the exchange first before it gets to the hands of the project devs. Unlike in ICOs where all your money goes to the devs at which they might decide to exit scam with it since they didn't provide any documentation to customers or other relevant 3rd parties

all forms of projects, be they ICO, IEO or STO in the cryptoqurency industry can change at any time, but in the end if the project does not have a good developer or a bad team background. which of course their project could not develop properly. I also agree that anyone can turn into a crime.

There is nothing left to trust here. Since the token is available for sale in the exchanges, I think its safe to say its going to be listed on the same exchanges. It is however not a gaurantee the price will rise up after. When it get listed, there is no assurance as well whether the team won't turned to be scam as it happened before. Everything is just a gamble here in crypto.

This already prevented the validation that already made by the majority of the trusted exchange sites. But some trusted exchange sites are even getting scammed too just like when bittrex was interesting to launch an IEO for a crap project in the past but not all IEO can be trusted and only IEOs which have already validated by the trusted party that can be trusted by us.
Due diligence is really needed in any situation even when we wanna decide which is good or bad IEO.

Better to analyze first the project a common ICO/IEO are not that a good indicator for a wise investment. I guess it's better to buy the tokens if it's already on the market and do well rather on an IEO, there are instances that most good projects dumped after the IEO ended.

It is a good idea to be cautious when choosing your investment as it's your money, whether you increase it or lose it. IEO is one of the many investment options.
Not all IEOs are good and it also means not all of them are bad. IEO are now one of the best place to invest your money as they are a improved form of ICO.
When choosing an IEO, you should be aware of where it's being hosted and how is the track record of the launch platform. Almost all of such platform promises a detailed study before listing but very few of them actually do it.

IEO is o difference with the other ICO or STO, were all of them can be use by the scammer. Even IEO was to trending now,
it doesn't mean 100% can give a good profit, that would depend actually on the exchange they are going to be list in the platform.
So. let us be wise anyway in choosing the project as well.

From experience, I would rather say that IEO has reduced the number of scam projects since it would take any project a considerable amount of fee to be listed on any exchange. So your role as an investor is to be sure the exchange has a reputation and also the potential of such project to appreciate in value.

Thats why new investors are been told to always do better research on IEO projects before investing any penny,mind you IEO from exchanges like binance for example are all good,binance exchange care more about their reputation so they carefully accept projects for IEO

Just take part in the most perspective projects on the biggest exchanges and you won't face such problems at all. I cannot remember if some IEO that took place on Binance, Huobi or Kucoin left investors without profit or ended up as a scam.
