The amount doesn't really matter as long as you are happy with it and you not use money you can't miss. Less invested in Bitcoin, means less risks. Hold your coins and don't get upset when the price is going down like now. If this rally is real it will go even higher than $500 this year.
Yup I'm basically using Bitcoins as a savings account. I'm really bad at impulse buys and since they are so hard to spend and take so long to cash in it's the perfect way for me to save. If the money is not on my debit card, I can't buy stupid crap on the internet at 3 am when I've had too much to drink.
Although these evil BTC Steam Key shops might do me in, I do like my games!

It's not a bad testing ground in my opinion we did go back down to $376.64 at present but it's as likely to retread as it is to go up after a speed rally like the one we saw.

During this time the price go at 500 us dollar and more and now is about 390 us dollar. I hope that go down for a while when I will have the answer from those and I buy my amount. Then lets go when he want.
All these exchanges really need to get their act together, here in the US especially it takes forever to buy Bitcoin with cash. If I had a credit card I could instant buy, but I have a debit card and no exchange in the US accepts them, it's dumb.

OP, do not be that pessimistic and hard on your self. People make their own luck and it is only logic to know that you have to buy a lottery ticket to stand any chance of winning the lottery.

I agree with you, as the first buy of bitcoin can tend to be a lot more apprehensive but it eventually tends to get more easier. The risk factor cannot be predicted exactly but it is there as with any other type of investment. a little bit of intensive research and market analysis does not hurt before buying or selling. There is a holdup at Coinbase, they blame my bank but Citi said they sent it out Saturday Morning. So I don't know what's going on. My coinbase status says it will be deposited today, though today is going to be over soon. I'm a very very sad Panda!

I'm unconvinced by the "selling for Christmas" argument. December 2011 saw a rise; December 2012 was flat, preceding a rise in January 2013 (to the >$10 then-ATH); December 2013 did see a fall (following the November 2013 >$1000 ATH); and December 2014 was mostly flat (but did precede a substantial drop in January 2015).
...and that's without even considering what percentage of today's market even regards December as "holiday season".

When Bitcoin is 2500, you wont care much if you paid 250 or 300 for one. If you believe in Bitcoin, anything under X amount is always gonna be a good buy.

You should not have to be worried as i believe that the price of bitcoin will not get below 300 at least until tomorrow.
Preev rate shows that 1 BTC = 321.1 USD so a dropping of $21 is not small to be dropped until tomorrow, then what's your plan?

Small chance that it will happen before Monday, seeing that resistance is strong at $310. There was a flash crash yesterday and that was the best price I see available yesterday at around $305

The price is quite stable at around $315 at the moment. It is quite difficult for it to go below $300. If it does go below, make sure you load up.

You are lucky OP, today we went down. I am pretty sure that you will be able to buy in the range of $300 on Monday. Heck, maybe even lower, even though I wouldn't like that we drop under $300 at all.

lol, I'm not really mad guys, I think it's kind of funny. It's just my bad luck. The good news is I just got my direct deposit tonight since the first falls on a Sunday. I figured it would get pushed till Monday, but hey, good luck for once. I transferred $300 to coin bank but their estimate is Wednesday before the transfer clears. I really wish a U.S. exchange would support instant deposits, I'm so envious of Europeans in that regard.

I can feel for you. I am really kicking myself for not buying bitcoins at the beginning of this month. I had plenty of money but I spent it all at the bar xD.

lol, I know, but I'm sitting at the computer watching the coinbase charts and screaming sell sell sell. I'm so bitter right now, lol. I want to play and my funds are gonna take 3 to 5 days after I get my check to trasfer over. I wish there was a way to quickly deposit in the US like Europe's instant deposits.
