because everything must also always have good motivation, good intentions, and good understanding.
if someone is investing in crypto for the purpose of getting rich quick, it really doesn't matter.
but the problem behind that big intention, is being able to not bear all the risks.
because it seems that the existing beginners have high dreams, but can't afford to take risks, that's the problem.

There isn't a business that runs without profits and loss... Infact, that's why it's called TRADING. These two are the major criterion to that ensures proper function.
I don't even think that the fact that anyone shouldn't rush into any business appears to guarantees the reduction in the losses that should be experienced, as long as you're a beginner in it -- I only thing it'll CURB THE SITUATION.
Same thing with the HODLing processes; you'll lose major at first, that's if you haven't had proper orientation as to how things works... I'm afraid you'll keep losing even when you know exactly what you're doing; in HODLing, it doesn't require your opinion to know you you'd wanna loss or not...as long as you're still HODLing funds between the DIP, you'll lose too. At the same time, pay day awaits you with huge profits.

Having a high expectations in crypto is so wrong in the sense that you can't foresee the next line of action of what crypto will be tomorrow. Those who are new to cryptocurrency tend to have high expectations because they were taught that it will yield enormous returns on their investments.

Even when I was a newbie, I've been guilty of having unrealistic expectations in the field of cryptocurrency. I can relate to how it feels when a cryptocurrency investment doesn't turn out as planned. The encounter is disastrous.

The way we explain to newcomers that cryptocurrency is not a get-rich scheme, in my opinion, is the only way to manage their excessive expectations.

For most, yeah. Else, what's the purpose of venturing into the crypto industry or any industry at that. The average crypto enthusiast wants to get rich quick via crypto, it is now somewhat of the mindset of the majority; in another thread some days ago, i found out that an average South Korean youth who is into crypto is basically in it to get a good life, and prolly escape poverty that is an obvious issue for him and his mates. With that kind of mindset you begin to wonder the possibility of these kind of people not making a costly mistake in the long run, because get rich quick investors usually skip some valuable lessons in the network.

Having said that, i have absolutely zero problems with a person being ambitious, but sometimes it is best to know what can actually come to fruition, and what cannot, i mean, it definitely helps one to control the risks they take, and to be able to handle disappointments when they come (because they definitely will).

In cryptocurrency investment, it's something that have to do with both advantages and disadvantages, so therefore i believe that Bitcoin have do with many things, and before you can as well become propagate in Bitcoin investment, either trading, short term investment neither Long term investment, you most have known the foundation or the rudiments of Bitcoin, let me be plan or district to you op, what gives profit in Bitcoin investment, is ability of the investors to microscope the market chart before investment and after investment. I agree that having high expectations is okay as long as it is realistic. It may be like a spirit to learn crypto seriously. Without expectation, beginners may learn crypto without big motivation. However, it is true that beginners must realize the obstacles and potential risks, too. So, they don't think that it will be easy to achieve the expectation. There are some beginners who expect to gain big money instantly, it is surely the wrong expectation. Before thinking of gaining big money, beginners must focus on learning first.

When you expect be it high or low you will be disappointed or you are prone to being disappointed. So even if you have to expect as a human it doesn't need to be high. When your high expectations fail it can lead to depression and it may lead to taking extra other risk which might not be necessary at all.
In all you do be moderate and don't expect much so that you won't be badly disappointed if your expectations are not met.

Although there may be many members that don't agree with this, for me, I do really agree with this. The too high expectation in crypto is not good not only for beginners but also for everyone in this crypto business. I have had several bad experiences with having a too high expectations. But the result really was not what I thought and expect, too far away and the expectation never comes true. This is what I feel so far. that is why after several bad experiences about those, I suggest myself that never expect too much in crypto. If I have good profits, I will take it as a bonus. but I will not expect too much, only set certain targets that are really affordable to reach and realized as possible.

Taking risks must also be done in a smart way. do not be too careless with the investment that will do. Many of them failed because they were too brave to take risks and had high hopes without being equipped with sufficient knowledge. They only hope that without having management, put in enough money without research first. Volatility can be very dangerous if you don't know what to do.

However, high expectations without first being equipped with qualified analysis and knowledge will indeed not be good. But to be honest I also have very high hopes in crypto. but especially in bitcoin. I guess the majority of newbie in crypto expect huge returns for their small investment. Obviously that's impossible even though in the past it was possible. Early bitcoin investors get huge returns more 10 years ^{[2009 - 2021],} if they can actually survive the market fluctuations during that time. Likewise with altcoin, they need time to get return - of course being patient is important.

I believe there is a return on investment, but its size depends only on the investment assets in the portfolio and the amount of the investment budget. They must be patient, and they will be get worth it returns.

While all you have said are true still I won't discourage anyone from having high expectations in the industry because they're all possible but what I'll advise against are for those expectations to be long term goals and not short term. Have the big dreams but do understand that those things take time. Don't come into the market with the hopes of making $100k from just $100 investment in a period of 1-2years, sure people have done it in the past but they were very lucky and didn't even know it'll work.

When people want to make quick money in the shortest time possible, these are the reasons we have so many unnecessary coins flooding the market,  polluting it and causing investors to loose trust in the industry. If you plan yourself well without having to chase after every new trend or shit coins been launched, you can still achieve your goals of financial freedom, just have a longer timeframe.

I don't mind high expectations in the crypto space as long as they are reasonable. But of course, duck can never be a car if one doesn't know how it works. I mean, $100 may never buy a car, but if they manage their budget well then there must be hope that in a few years they can buy a car. But either way, some one shouldn't expect to get rich overnight on crypto.

the most important thing is not to place our high expectations on the wrong assets. we can have high expectations when we invest in the right assets. it's not a problem when we also do the planning properly. we can also expect the trades that we do, as long as we do have sufficient skills to be able to continue to be profitable in trading. even if it is a small amount.

I guess most of us who start in cryptocurrency expect to get rich easily when we invest in it, probably because we know someone or we have a friend that gets lucky on cryptocurrency that gets rich easily. And then when you enter cryptocurrency you also expect that it is an easy investment where you could easily profit when you just invest. And then after losing a lot of your investment you start to learn more about crypto and learn that it is not that easy, that you need to be careful investing in it and not make it something that you would rely on because not all people who invest in it will earn a profit, only a small percentage of investors win and most of the investors are losers.

And then you started to earn profit in investing because you already learn bitcoin, and then it all started from that you are interested already and wanted to share what is cryptocurrency or bitcoin and what it is capable of. For me, it is just normal for a lot of people of beginners to have high expectations, but the truth is we all have high expectations in it that is why we continue to invest in cryptocurrency because we believed on it that someday even though it hit a very low price at the moment, in the future it is going to repeat history where it is going to hit its new high and all of the people who invested when it's low get their reward.

Unfortunately, if we're realistic, the majority of us won't make a fortune through cryptocurrencies. Most of us missed the train when Bitcoin was extremely affordable in the first few years of its founding, making it almost impossible to have a similar opportunity if you're starting from scratch. Personally, I'm fine with having a small side income through cryptocurrencies; becoming rich isn't one of my goals, nor is it realistic. However, as you've already mentioned, this perspective is often portrayed by the media, showing a minority of people who were clever, lucky, or both and took advantage of the earliest years.

I will add this threat every thing that has the potential of giving back high ROI as a business. Generally life is full of risk but while we venture into risky stuffs with good prospects it is wise to keep our expectations feasible with low greed. You have a good point. No matter how risky it is, as long as you have your own plan on how to make it work, and you have faith in crypto that’s why your determined to succeed, then it’s never an issue if you set high expectations for crypto. For me, it’s also a sort of good motivation because I won’t be striving hard if I know from the start that taking all these risks are worth for nothing.

I don't think have problem with huge expectation in cryptocurrency world due many people have been success here but not blame about how many trader or investor losing their money after investing and trading in Bitcoin. Based on Bitcoin or altcoin price increasing seems not matter with high expectation in cryptocurrency world because many coins up more than above 1000% after launching and depending how lucky we are when investing in some altcoin.

Just make hard research before investing in Bitcoin or altcoin because always has potential one time to earn much profit trough cryptocurrency coins and we don't know which one coins will make us rich.

Those people dedicated their entire lives trying to find the solution to make planes fly in the sky, all their lives, they believed it will work out. If too much of everything is bad they wouldn't have gotten anywhere.

When it comes to your dream you don't play around or try to give up, this is not sugar, or smoking or sleeping with females around, I am talking about something that can bring huge change and impact lives around you. There is no too much when it comes to dreams.

I guess having high expectations in crypto especially for beginners is not that bad actually since it can serve as their motivation to gain more knowledge and understanding about crypto, to be more patient and resilient about crypto. The only reason it becomes bad is that when these newbies start to assume that there is always huge profits in crypto, and that the chances of losing is very small. So they end up believing in lies because the fact is crypto has its higher chances of losing especially if you believe it’s a get-quick-rich scheme, and it could be life changing too once you put all your life savings in crypto and lose them all in the process.

We hear this proverb a lot, "too much is not good". Similar to the amount of expectation, I believe we should never expect too high if the odds are obviously showing it or if we do not know anything about the matter.

For me here is good, Because some of us are destined by everything you start and get a good deal on, and because we are not all doomed to failure in any way, expectations are good for Crypto beginners, in my opinion. I try to convey my thoughts and also as a reminder for myself and for other beginners not to just have high expectations in this crypto world.
I don't understand what you mean, why should I fight back on what was said or other people's opinions?
I always visit this thread I created and always read all opinions submitted.
I haven't commented yet doesn't mean I left the thread I just made.
Instead of you hating me, I ask for your wisdom if it turns out I'm wrong or I break the rules remind and teach me.

OP, you must answer a conclusion because lots of advice will be found about crypto investment, so if you are on exchange, you will find that notice on every website, so nothing to worry about it.
Also, we will find that notice in general on every thread here.

It's okay to have high expectations because basically cryptocurrencies are speculative assets so it's natural that a lot of people have high hopes for cryptocurrencies as long as we invest with the right coin and apply the right strategy like investing with bitcoin for the long term and I think this is one the only right choice especially since so far bitcoin has proven to be able to make many bitcoin investors successful even though they have to hold their bitcoins for a little longer so they can sell at high prices when they reach a new ATH which usually occurs in a 4 year cycle after the bitcoin halving.

I think these words do not only apply to beginners but other members who have been in the crypto world for a long time must also reflect on these words. often people in the crypto world have expectations of getting rich in a short time without them figuring out the ins and outs of how to achieve that, in the end, they are trapped in greed. it's not easy to get rich from crypto, there are many stages that must be passed.


actually high expectations are not so bad, and generally, expectations are everyone's fuel for hope, but some of these expectations fall into the toxic category. if beginners have high expectations of being rich in one night from crypto then they have toxic expectations but if a beginner has high expectations cryptocurrency can change their life then their expectations are very good.

Crypto has definitely its own high risks so if you enter into crypto with high hopes that it can eventually give you a life changing profits instantly, that is certainly a wrong mindset. I think word should be Don't be greedy, in the crypto industry. Because expectations are to be expected,and I  think expectations should be kept. I assumed you meant greed by high-expectations. Expectation can be held by those who have proper knowledge of trading, and greed is held by those who invest in the crypto industry to get more profit without having knowledge about trading. To be honest, crypto are not really made primarily just for the sake of earning profits. They have their own use cases and that is why it gets that so-called "value" from the buyers or we call them - "investors".

Cryptocurrency investment can be a long-term game, and investors should not expect quick or guaranteed returns. It's essential to have a well-informed and rational investment strategy and to monitor the market carefully. So don't put high expectation on it as a beginner, eventhough most beginners in crypto are interest in crypto because of placing high expectation to become rich fast but they will learn along with time.

Not many will want to listen and stick to this advice until they suffer the heartbreak and financial losses caused by this high expectations. People think that it is all set and made once they invest in cryptocurrency and that with as little as $10 that they will become rich. Such mindset has made alot of them to hate anything cryptocurrency once they suffer defeat from such investment. We all should have a moderate expectations that is possible and not that type where you invest $10 and expect to make $10,000 from it.

Apart from the cryptocurrency industry which is relatively new, in any other sectors, having high expectations is not encouraged.  This brings high expectations in newbies. It is the kind of testimonies the newbies were told that brings the high expectations like ×100 ×200.
Maybe they were told that bitcoin will make rich and that get rich quick idea will stick to their brains and that ushers in high expectations. If there is high expectations in success, there will also be high expectations in losses. Vice versa

This is related to the mindset you brought into the market. Having high expectations for the bitcoin market usually does not pan out, and this has hurt more people than making their dreams come true. Well said, all of the advice is very important because almost all newcomers to the crypto world have a very high expectation of making quick money from cryptocurrency, which is not the case, and some newcomers do not even care to get knowledge before starting their investment because they saw people making money from it.
Before beginning a Bitcoin investment, it is best to first gain a basic understanding of Bitcoin and how it works.


Not only beginners but even people that are in the game don't have too many expectations because the Cryptocurrency market is not predictable.

Greed is the main thing that affects new investors because they don't want to take high risk and they are expecting too much profit which most times lead them to a complete loss of their total investment.

People who became millionaires had mined or bought coins at ridiculous prices, something that is no longer feasible. Even if the value triples now, you still won't be any closer to being rich by having $10,000–$20,000 in Bitcoin. You'll earn a decent amount, for sure, but it won't make you a millionaire. Expectation should be minimize, and the goal should be the bigger picture that we wan't, what should we have to get that is the proper tool, and research, those people who have lots of money, who don't do some research end up being broke, while those people who don't have lots of funds but , take time to do some research turns out to be richer, than them, so the key diffrence is the research and a guide from those we trust.

I think there is nothing wrong with having a high expectation. Like I hear multinational speakers saying it is better for you to plan and aim higher so that when you don't get the high target then you can still settle for some below and better. It is a target to work towards and it keeps the person who want to achieve it not to be lazy but to fight harder with the picture of the target on his face.

Lol,everybody has expectation,and I used to think that expectation is what brings motivation,if you aren't expecting anything,you won't be motivated to do nothing.When one is expecting something,he works extra miles to achieve his set target,but it seems it's different in crypto,because your high expectations here can lead to heartbreak,and emotional trauma which is unhealthy.That is why it is adviceable to take it step by step,one at a time.

I would say it depends but the condition of the market, having a high expectations will hurt you since it's very volatile. I wouldn't expect too much on my asset but if you are determined to make a huge profit in the future. Make sure you don't doubt and never regret on when you are selling your asset then reinvest after that. Having high expectations can lead to so many unfortunate things, like you said some people actually got into crypto because of the success of others and without even trying to find out what they went through to get to where they're right now, the sacrifices they made, the pain and hardship they endured during their journey. No, they just jump into it thinking that they'll also be as successful as that person and when things doesn't goes as planned they start having cold feet about if they should continue or not. If you don't want my unnecessary pressure then you shouldn't have high expectations in crypto.

I see a lot from the perspective of some beginners like me who are new to cryptocurrency.
Sometimes, some of them see the cryptocurrency world as an easy way or business to get profits or get rich quickly.
Many of them have this kind of perspective because they see other people's success from crypto.
What they don't even know is how difficult the person's struggle was before being successful and making a profit in the crypto world.
Not only success but in fact many negative cases have occurred in the crypto world.
Sometimes beginners don't realize they have entered a "landmine area".
One wrong step means they will enter into negative news from the impact of cryptocurrency risks.
