This is what I really hate about KYC and what makes me feel very uncomfortable. These people know who you are but you have no idea who they are. This is not fair. They want to protect themselves we can't.
It's not like they were even asking about an individual person but rather the companies location. I mean I can understand a smaller company not wanting to give its location but I can't understand such a large company being so secretive.

Yes indeed every exchange has its own rules. I think as long as our funds are safe and they are still trusted, it doesn't matter where they are. Because this is a service business where high trust is needed. And so far there is no bad complaint about binance. I don't want to defend binance, but I just want to highlight that they are professionals. On the other hand, if the op is afraid of missing funds or something bad happens, it's better to withdraw your funds from there to your cold wallet. I think that's a very effective solution when you don't get a satisfying answer.

I think there is no problem if the binance team does not provide their office address. binance is a big exchange of course the binance team maintains office privacy for security. meet the binance team when they do blockchain roadshows in various countries or when done in your country, they will definitely give their office address if you are dealing directly with them rather than you talking through a binance support chat

Its safer not to disclose their location to anybody, its just a normal procedure be rest assured that binance is a very good crypto exchange, after the last hack on the exchange few thought its over but they refund all lost funds to owners, they have good reputation and they care about it

Okay. The thing is scammers dont choose you. You choose people to scam you. And Binance can be one of them. CAN BE!!!
well yeah, i just read the other people feedback about it and if it good i'll go for it.

It is their policy, and it is already stated. The man in the middle, he is just doing his job you don't have to be offend. Besides, everyone has a possible rights but we are all have to comply with their rules. It is a crucial thing to exposed binance location as for private matter. And in addition, they are all doing what they can offer to you as a customer, are you satisfied or not?

I think it's not only binance, maybe also on other sites, why they don't answer your questions about location, because it's not their responsibility to say about it, the first is you ask the customer service where there are certain rules where all customer service has its own limits to answer all customer questions, but if you have the opportunity you can contact the CEO Binance to ask for their location or come to each of their events, the conclusion is Binance is still in the status of the site that can be trusted by me

I think why you want to know the Binance office do you want to go there to see it in person? Binance is a popular exchange and they might keep it a secret, and I've seen a number of articles that Binance's office is in Shanghai, but that was also denied by Binance so I don't know which is true.
I think he was just curious and wanted to make sure that the money he put in was safe. but it is also true of the binance party, to avoid something undesirable, the binance party keeps it a secret and makes it more privacy.

I think Binance location is not a secret since its one of the most popular cryptocurrency exchange in the world, They said that Binance HQ was in Malta so whats the problem with that. if i am a Binance users and i don't trust the exchange platform anymore I don't waste my time, the least i can do is first i withdraw my funds and leave without question that's simple. cryptocurrency business is a full of speculation thats why trust is more important in this industry. BTW don't worry mate Binance CEO is a very popular  and active he cant afford to ruin his name.

well , i also want to know about it , but, of course , we will not get any answer from support chat.
unlike most exchanges originating from the USA and Europe , such as bittrex and poloniex wich cleary giving a exact info where they are,It seems that exchanges from Asia do not provide clear information about where they are.
besides binance , kucoin also same in this cases.
I can't argue whether hiding such an identity is necessary or not.

If youre scared enough to let the exchange holds youre asset then withdraw it. They will not disclose any information especially its quite sensitive one. They impose guidelines regarding this and I think you should be confident to trust it especially binance is the number 1 exchange. Dont worry CZ handles its client with high appreciation.

I don't think there's anything terrible about it. They care about their safety and if someone is actively interested in their whereabouts, it can be alarming. You don't have to worry about your money. Binance is a reliable exchange.
Yeah absolutely, you can't even do anything about that information that you'll be getting, it will just make you looks like a person who plans some illegal things. They are handling not just your money but millions of peoples money so keeping where their head quarter is just fine and instead you can ask about their offices or branches where people can visit.

You have to understand their privacy. As they don't want to get trace for the safety and security purposes. There are many attackers who want to invade such company like Binance.

In the first place, you entrusted your money with them so you have to take tbe consequences. The fact that they are securing our money is a great thing. I understand that you want to know who owe our money but things like this especially in virtual exchanges will not guarantee you the 100% security that you want and yet you still deposited and later on had a guts because you wanna know their location?

Respect the privacy.

Oh God, why dont you just trade on a decentralized DEX like Blocknet if you care that much? Sure I believe we can all see the problem, but overall no one should TRUST a centralized exchange at all.

Hopefully in a few years, they'll lose the battle against decentralized solutions. Hopefully

You are just the co-owner of the coin if you put it on an exchange because they have the control over it and you don’t have any private keys. For the security purposes that’s why Binance didn’t disclose the exact location of their office. If you’re a trader you don’t need to know this thing, you just need to analyze the exchange and see the feedbacks of other users if the exchange is good or not, this is a simple way to confirm a good exchange.

I like how that sounds, co-owner of the coins, while the coins are stashed on some exchange. I wish to add one more thing, recent exchange hacks showed how crypto is huge now, exchanges gave money from their own pocket to refund traders, now exchanges are much safer then before, at least some of them.
I think that even birds knows that binance headquarter is on Malta, so this topic is just a FUD. Even that picture from op is terrible, I believe op created this imaginary conversation with binance support.

That's the question one has to ask prior to opening account his account at exchange. Like if they are not disclosing there location, its my own decision to open my account with that exchange or not.

I don't see any odd in that provided they have mentioned in there initial agreement that they will not disclose location.

binance is the biggest exchange in the crypto room, I really like the Binance exchange because some reasons include easy features and guaranteed security. I often trade there. on the one hand, things that make me even more trust with them that the company is responsible if something bad happens to them, like the case at that time hacking. My funds can be returned in full from the binance.

Did you look around their website since sometimes the address of their headquarters are located in about, support just look at their website you'll find it there. How come that putting the company's address isn't allowed in their company policy? In my country the exchange coins.ph has their address posted and it can be accessed by anyone...
Binance has no information on their address or headquarters on their website. It may be because they are keeping the security because they can be the target of big time criminals.
We do not know the true purpose but we see that the binance is transparent in some detail, so if we do not have the confidence we can withdraw our crypto on their platform.
Binance is a very good Trading Exchange, but users can not always evaluate and find out all the features of the administration of this resource.  More recently, there was news in the media about where the binance administration itself announced that without any problems they can even access the funds and account of their users, as well as block them for any law enforcement requirements or for other reasons  .  Thus, questions arise about how it can be a question of a decentralized exchanger.

I don't think they will leak that information for you. I don't know of they will give it even to their investors unless you have connections. I think some part of it was for security reason and some part of it is to protect their privacy. I guess you just need to inquire to someone who was really connected to them.

I don't really see why you should be worried about that. They have proven themselves to be a reliable exchange countless times, and if at this stage you still don't feel safe by making use of their services then it would be best for you to switch to using another exchange. There are other good exchanges like Coinbase that are fully regulated and it's located in San Francisco, CA, they hide nothing about themselves.

So, if you're worried about such things then you should go for regulated exchanges and Coinbase is also safe and 98% of customer funds are kept in cold storage.

There is no doubt that you have the right to know the location of a company where you are depositing your assets and they are not even able to have a concrete answer on that but they will be more than happy to collect all the user information in the form of KYC and that is the case with majority of the exchanges in this market.

I think a support employee does not have the right to disclose the location of the office, he simply adheres to the rules of the internal policy of the exchange. By registering on the exchange you accept their rules.

Yes, they don't have and why would OP have to ask a question like that since Binance is reputable enough to give your trust to them to hold your cryptocurrency. But if OP wants to know the head office of Binance then i think OP deserve to know that but there are rumors already on where are their office, i think that's enough.

Well you have accepted their terms as soon as you joined their website and if you do not like their service or the fact that they remain hidden then you can get your money out of the exchange, in fact I will do that immediately since you never know what it is in those terms and conditions that you need to accept and this event could cause them to freeze your account, maybe you could use coinbase or another exchange if you are not happy with their service.

I'm not surprised from the response. They are already suffering a lot just for being a large exchange from different authorities. Most of the authorities around the world would be wanting to ask a tax from binance for any reason for their connection to the country. Binance will really keep this kind of personal information as a hidden information that only few users has an access to see this kind of information. It is the reason why binance is considered as the biggest cryptocurrency exchange because they will protect every information that is need to be hidden.

I think due to the latest news raid by police on Binance office; the support team is not willing to giving information about the Headoffice and other data. Still, every investor should know about their companies profile where he invested their investment, as you know after someday we hear news about exchanges funds or exchange hacked, for this reason, investor satisfaction every exchange should declare their Head office and other information in the annual report.

I don't think they want the location to be known because of security concerns. When it comes to the security of our funds, I think it is better for us to store our coins or tokens in the wallet that we hold our private key and the exchanger only functions as a place to trade, buy or sell.

As far as I know their "headquarters" are in Malta, it is an island like nation around Italy that does many online gambling licenses and were one of the first nations to legalize and tax bitcoin related business' so they found a good haven there.

However, don't think of a Malta headquarters like a real headquarters as in wall street finance companies have in wall street, a Malta headquarters usually means there is people working there but the main team of CEO, CFO, COO and the likes are somewhere else.

Considering this is a Chinese company but has troubles in china, I suppose Hong Kong could be the closes we can find or Japan (which they used to have headquarters in as well). I feel like CZ rarely goes to Malta and probably has his own little shop that is connected to Headquarters where most of the big deals go on.

As for me, it doesn't really matter who controls my money on the exchanges. as long as I know they have the criteria of trusted exchange it wouldn't matter to me if I know them or not. The most important thing here is, they know how to handle your money. from the start, you already know what kind of exchange they are. At the end of the day, we are all supporting this thing called DSecentralized that's why we don't have a right to nag them who they are and where they are.

Regardless of the fact they don't wish to share the specific location of their company headquarters, possibly due to security reasons the exchange does have a decent reputation of being a safe and secure platform to trade on but you still do so at your own risk, and alternatively they do have a DEX which you can use should you wish to manage your own funds when you are trading or investing

Asking the location of the binance headquarters is indeed a very sensitive question and will not be answered because it is according to their procedure.
But if you read on Wikipedia, the binance headquarters are in Malta. for more details, you can read clear information on Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binance
It is really sensitive, It is also their policy since binance is a popular exchange and they will put every information of their site to safety and will never be shared to anyone just to keep their security as high as needed.

I have also tried to look for google, and found out that their office is located in different countries, but I don't know if this is a reliable information.

Binance started in China and due to the oppression by the government against anything that is not regulated by them, Binance transferred to somewhere else. Knowing who own your money and where is your money at, are two different things. The physical location of the servers of the company must be kept private for the sake of your safety. If you will doubt Binance just because you don't know where their site location is, why did you even trust the exchange in the first place?

Why couldn't their agent just tell him they are located in Malta, what's wrong with that? But I guess this is something they would have to avoid disclosing for some other reason.

In the forum all you can see is that they are Malta base exchange not Chinese exchange anymore. Wierd as it may sound for new comers in crypto but the names of their team members are still Chinese.

The governments of several countries are chasing these exchanges hard, they are lucrative targets considering the amount of revenue they generate and these exchanges in turnuses many methods to avoid these sanctions and extortion attempts, if you don't feel safe keeping your funds in centralised exchanges that you do not know the location, then j advice you to use decentralised exchanges where you control your funds 100%, although we have seen examples where even when centralised exchanges has been compromised, they refunded the funds back to their users and Binance happens to be one of them.

This is surprising,  I was always of the opinion that the Binance headquarters was somewhere in Malta.  For the agent to refuse answering the question and hiding under 'company policy',  I really think something is amiss.  Why would such information be private?  I don't think it is any potential security risk to inform the public of its location,  then again,  most of these exchanges are seemingly located on one island or some offshore location that many haven't heard of.

Cryptocurrency at this time remains a semi-legal product, so there is a lot of fraud and manipulation around it and it is unlikely that anyone will want to give out their coordinates because this way companies become vulnerable. I think that all exchanges are not clean on hand and in order to avoid problems it is better to be silent.

If it was stated in their terms or rules and regulations that they have the right to disclose their location then you cannot force them to answer your question especially if you have accepted it upon joining their exchange.

But if you are going to use the search engine then you can find that their headquarters is in Malta after shifting out of China and Japan subsequently. But it's up to you if you are going to believe this details or not and I hope that you will get satisfied by all the answers that were being replied to your post.

It's normal because they are just following the rules and what higher people instructed them to do. Since they are not allowed to disclose such information. They cannot risk the whole company just for one customer asking them. Like others, they are just working at binance. It's normal to be concerned about it as a customer but we have to understand them as well. Is their reputation isn't enough to prove their company? Because if you are not contented, then don't stick with binance.

For me, I don't think there is any justification for them not disclosing where their Head-Office is. If I am Op, I am surely not leaving a large portion of my funds on that platform because it shows that at any time they so wish, they can shut down their servers and they would disappear into thin air and there won't be anywhere to start any form of investigation from.

I imagine talking to a customer care agent of a bank wanting to know their Head Office and this is the response, this further shows that these crypto companies have little or no regards to due process or even according their clients due respect. If they are carrying on business in a country that did not give them the rights and approval then they are doing so in an illegal way.

They're just employees who folows the rules. And it seems that one of the rule is not telling the location of their headquarter. I know that you're not asking the exact location, but still they have the right for not telling you. I know that you're also wondering who's resposible about your money, but they must have their own reason for this.

Take note on the posts above, some are telling you the location. No idea if that is true or not since I havent done any research regarding this. Still, in case you're still questioning their credibility about handling your money, you shouldn't store a lot of your funds in there if it makes you less worry.

maybe it's the rules of their superiors, they are just employees and follow the rules.
try reading information about binance or events that will be held by binance.
maybe there will be a clue from that.
Yaps, I think so too. in a company there must be certain rules for employees and must have a commitment to the rules. I think Binance is keeping his office a secret because this is a free market and is not controlled by anyone, even the government. so the exchange has the right to it all, for exchanges such as binance no doubt, because the reputation that made the crypto exchange grow. maybe the one who can answer this is all binance superiors, and behind it all there must be a compelling reason for crypto-world.

Did you look around their website since sometimes the address of their headquarters are located in about, support just look at their website you'll find it there. How come that putting the company's address isn't allowed in their company policy? In my country the exchange coins.ph has their address posted and it can be accessed by anyone...

maybe it's the rules of their superiors, they are just employees and follow the rules.
try reading information about binance or events that will be held by binance.
maybe there will be a clue from that.

Today i contacted Binance via their Support and a customer service agent joined the chat. I just wanted to know where Binance headquarter is? And then you can just have a look at the chat.

I contacted the support three times and on all occasions i got the same answer. My question is simple. I am not asking for exact location i just want to know the country and the city. According to them i dont even have the right to know who is handling with my money.

I understand why you are skeptical about Binance's refusal to reveal their headquarters location but I feel there is a very good reason for it. The crypto space is not regulated by government at the moment and so they have no obligation to reveal their location to any one

I trust binance exchange not with my funds though but they are the most straight thinking team i have ever seen, they have all chances to carter away with users funds that worth millions but they care more about their existence, the safer way with exchange is never leave huge amount on them

I think they did it because of their security. It's a popular exchange and if people know where their actual location is maybe some people can cause a problem with them who don't like binance. If this is their policy and they already inform you about that in their terms and conditions then they also have the right to maintain their policy. But I think we have the right to know where our money is and it's safe or not.

Most exchanges will hide their real locations, this is needed to avoid complaint from customer directly. This is on line business so everything should be done by on line. As long Binance can give services in good way that's enough because that we need from binance, nothing else.

If you've been listening or reading about crypto news you must have heard about this countless time about their head office, even fake news says police bust binance head office too but turn the table on yourself, if you are the owner will you tell stranger? Anyways, binance has its headquarters in Malta after shifting out of China and Japan subsequently. The company started in china but had to shift its servers and headquarters out of the country due to a government ban on cryptocurrency trading. I expect this should be enough for you

So a customer to them is  a stranger? Lets talk about BANCOR. As per information given by their chat, its headquarters is in Switzerland and technical HQ is in Tel Aviv. So why BANCOR told me as i was also a stranger?
Different company have different policies and Binance is known to be popular exchange and could potentially attract unwanted problems it's their right to not disclose their headquarter and if you are checking the term and agreement in their exchange as well as signing up yourself in their exchange service you are indirectly agree with their policies. Also I think that this kind of topic belong in the service discussion section.

If you are trusting your money in their hands, you are trusting on their judgement on security. I would prefer that they wouldn't tell their everyone their weak attack points.
And since you have a possibility to withdraw at any point and deposited your money by yourself, i don't know where you are getting the idea of having some sort of right of knowledge in this.

Call your bank and ask them about transportation routes and timetables of their next money transfers because as a customer you have a right to know and see how they will take that.

Didn't they opened up an office in Malta? there's also a fake news last time about their Shanghai offices. I understand your point of knowing their location so that if a trouble comes out and your funds is at stake, you can simply go to their office to expedite your concern. But before signing in, is it on their ToS?

Its safer not to disclose their location to anybody, its just a normal procedure be rest assured that binance is a very good crypto exchange, after the last hack on the exchange few thought its over but they refund all lost funds to owners, they have good reputation and they care about it

Okay. The thing is scammers dont choose you. You choose people to scam you. And Binance can be one of them. CAN BE!!!
Agreed, if this is what you have in your head then stay away from centralized exchanges or don't leave coins and tokens on any exchange, its that easy or go for DEX exchange because its P2P trading, no need for profile accounts or any third party

Their protocol for providing sensitive information is more stringent, we have also read how the news about the office raid that was allegedly a binance in Hong Kong last month, although it was immediately rejected by CZ.

They seem to prevent further questions from the topic that you are talking about for security procedures. It is better if you communicate with residents in Malta to ensure the correct answer about the physical binance office.

I think they are right.Because they can't share there office location for safety purpose.Who know if they share there location then cops or robbers attack them? And I don’t think that your question was relevant. If you afraid why you are holding or storing your coins in binance?  You can keep your coin in your personal wallet.

I think why you want to know the Binance office do you want to go there to see it in person? Binance is a popular exchange and they might keep it a secret, and I've seen a number of articles that Binance's office is in Shanghai, but that was also denied by Binance so I don't know which is true.
So basically you are flowing with the wind. But just watch out from the time when this wave will put you in a dead end.

Their office is anonymous also. They do not have a known headquarters. I have also read a lot of news in the past that says Binance's operations are happening at locations that could move from one to another in just a quick time. They do not disclose any information that would lead them open to the public. Even the lowest employee of this large exchange cannot disclose very important data about Binance.

Are you really talking to a legit Binance support? He does not even use the right capitalization of letter.
