It doesnt matter whether goverment allow it or not, before current exchange in india were not there people were still utilizing bitcoin unless someone is fully dependent of bitcoin/altcoin to pay for his basic needs.
But still it can not be banned as many big multinational company are thinking of utilizing blockchain potential.
Even axis bank was thinking of it.
Aren't banning bitcoin and using blockchain are two different things? Few months back government banned porn sites but it doesn't entail banning the internet.
Government can ban bitcoin but still allow blockchain.
definitely two different things and if they want to successfully ban bitcoin maybe they should ban the internet  Tongue

and imposing a ban will just give bitcoin a marketing platform to grow even bigger as more people will grow an interest to want to know what bitcoin is all about.

Banning Bitcoin and banning  VISA or Mastercasrd are two different things.  Visa/mastercard are backed by fiat and they are not currencies from any perspective. Where as bitcoin is a currency (digital crypto).

Yes govt is on the plans to ban only bitcoin and other currency and not the technology. They say if its a currency than who controls it as all the currency in the world like INR, Dollar, Euro etc is being controlled by govt so who controls bitcoin? Since nobody then govt cannot allow such currencies.

Hello everyone I personally think even if govt ban Bitcoins how can they ban visa and MasterCard? I think banning the bitcoins will not be a solution for whatever government thinks about bitcoins. How long can we sit in a dark room, if the whole world is enjoying the sunshine. Don't panic, it has happened in other countries too, but still you can see the prosperity of Bitcoin. Even though I hold a small bit of it but I am optimist for Bitcoin  Cheesy
