Do you know why these people keep on trying their luck on us because many of us will agree to their plan and will lose the money. You and me know that such emails and messages are fraud and their purpose is to get hold of our money, but many innocent people think they are right and therefore those people lose money and this give confidence to scammers to keep on trying on other people and get easy money out of them.

I also experienced this kind of invite to strangers that I don't know when I was a newbie in this forum. I mostly encounter this kind of private message in my Telegram and Twitter account that I sometimes play along with them until they give up, and I will block them after that. It is good that we know this kind of fraudulent schemes in this forum and other social media sites because it is the leading cause of how you will get scammed.

Yes, it's good to Flow to people you know very well than the stranger you don't know. There are many scammers pretending to help you, not knowing that the person is looking for way to have access to all your private details.

Not just here on Bitcointalk, but also in social media, email, etc. We don't just simply trust these types of messages as they were desperate in asking for money. I've been there before as a newbie, and I almost fell trap on it. Good thing that I've consulted with some of my friends about this, and I took their advice in deleting the said email for good.

For me, it's okay to reply as long as you don't easily give your trust since it's a stranger you are talking to. But if that's the kind of message I will receive, No. I won't bother to reply to that and will just ignore it, I mean it's pretty obvious that it's a sort of scam trying if you will get swayed by the message. But for me, the message is not tempting at all because who would believe that some random old lady is willing to give her money to random people just because she's dying.

Again, not replying to private messages from strangers on the forum is kind of not idea for me. For a fact, we are all anonymous to ourselves or at least 90% are though, not a proven statistics. We might be familiar with a few names based on how active the user are but we still remain anonymous and at times, you just might choose to converse with another familiar either because, you feel the user is the best to aid you in answering a particular question or recommend something for you. Not really asking you for financial aiding or trying to divert you to some place or platform. Else, I don't see anything wrong in replying PM from strangers but, the issue of complying and clicking links is very much up to you.

Sincerely they're not harmful when ignored or report as a spam. Series of them had been in my inbox without any attempt to open because of their act of flooding the inbox the more. Though, some of my mails already bartered with spam has been disbanded which I thought should be the best option too.

The only risk they post is: some of their sent links contains harmful viruses like Trojans among notable virus which can be avoided through outright abandonment of the affected mails.

I thought there was someone in the community who sent you some weird messages. Anyway, weird emails such as that are common especially when you posted your email in the bounty or airdrop topic which required you to do so. There are some people who happily collected them and sold them to those scammers where they'll always catch some fish (Victims) from sending those messages to the multiple emails they got. So, it's best not to publicize your email to avoid such annoying messages in your email.

This is the problem sometimes when we are trying to open our inbox to make it public there are a lot of people are trying to scam in different ways also because of this pandemic they know that most of the people are being active in the online world of the digital world of course if you are a theft it's too hard to get outside because of the pandemic why not apply your skills to the environment this is the modern kind of theft right now the scammers.

It's better to avoid entertaining that kind of people also sometimes opening the message, clicking the links, and other kind of action because sometimes there are viruses on those messages.

It is it's very notorious ten years ago and they worked on emails but since their emails landed on the spam sections or folders they changed their strategy and now resort to direct message in social media and forums, if you are active online in the past ten years you will encounter similar offers of course they are 100% scam.

I haven't received personal messages like that but I did received pms from an unknown user in this forum but I did not take notice and I leave it as it is. Most of the pms are selling scripts or gambling sited for starting your own gambling platforms but it's a scam. So, replying to such pm's is useless.

Looks promising, huh. But nah. It's pretty obvious that it's just a scam. Only a gullible person will bite such trap. I don't have any experience yet regarding emails but I have experience like this on text messages saying I won a huge amount and call him/her back; that it's from a foundation and he/she is an attorney. I just delete such messages. I don't believe those things.

I hope others won't, too. I hope they'll be suspicious when it comes to money matters. And just because someone is offering a huge amount doesn't mean they have to go on with it. Remember, if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

That is an obvious scam, whenever we received an email that asking for funds for some reasons, just ignore them, you shouldn't trust anyone in this virtual world, scammers are scammers, they usually making stories to persuade you.

You might be better off using a separate email address. It sure to be a scam, no one does give you money as inheritance or whatever their story is without meeting and without the presence of atty. My brother and sister doesn't even email me but just chat with me or text. So I wouldn't expect any emails from someone. If you too are fed up of these type of emails that dont go away, just use your throw away emails.

If you send financial assistance, it's better if you go to a trusted foundation or a confirmed donation website address so that your donation is sent to the intended person.

That's the reason i never give my personal email address anywhere on random sites or airdrops etc. I have created a separate email for that purpose.
The biggest thread is someone sending a malware or link which contain trogan's etc that could steal our data from our system. Although these are rare cases but we should remain vigilant.

I usually block them or delete them because i know these are just scammers who want to get money from us. Sometimes they also send message like their 100 thousands dollars are stuck in a bank and they need my few dollars to transfer them to my account Cheesy

Have you received it via the forum? If so then simply report to moderators for unsolicited PM. If you received it via mail then just ignore it. I have been receiving such as mail sometimes, but never bothered to reply to them. Because I am 100% sure they are a scammer. They are trying to scam or steal something from me. I am not sure if a few greedy people have been falling into their trap, but most likely there are a few. This is a very old scam scheme, but it would be new for newbies. It's good that you shared it with the community, so it would be a lesson for newbies. Just we need to control our greed.

There is actually no danger per se to reply a private message of a scammer, I've see situations people reply and play around with the scammers before blocking them, but not starting a conversation is the better choice, some users who are not too familiar with how scammers operate can get allured as the conversation gets deeper, that's why as a rule of thumb, it's better not to reply such scam messages, then block the user from sending you PM's going forward, delete the message and report such user.

I have a better solution. If you have the time to waste, you can bait them into thinking that you are obliging their every requests. If this was in email format, you can use an AI called RE:Scam that replies to this emails, essentially wasting their time. This is the rule of thumb on the Internet, never talk to strangers until you see their and confirm their faces because you will have no chances when you want to appeal about scam.

Just don't click any website without checking it. I once become a victim of email hacking so I tried to be extra careful in everything that I click especially in crypto related website. So it's better to be careful than to be a victim. There are warning here in forum if newbie message us something we don't know. Research in Google what they say about the site since there might be some one who already become a victim and spread word about his experiences.

It's kinda funny when someone messaged you something like that and then you already have many experiences about it, it seems like they already failed because of the wrong victims. Beginners mostly fall for that scam, whenever some message them our of nowhere and asking for bitcoin for any reason because of being lack of experience and knowledge about the crypto world. Just remember that we should never give any of our personal information when a stranger asks you for that.

Whenever we received a phishing email, we may report it on, [email protected] or ftc.gov/complaint and whenever we received phishing text we may forward it to SPAM(7726).

If you send email to that address, your email address will be in their list and you will be spammed with emails from scammers. They can share or sell your email address for other scam teams.

Strangers are nothing more but strangers, but some people are too weak to allow strangers to lure them into sending bitcoin to them, this can happen on forums, and similar of such on social media. People need to be careful, scammers have tactics to seek for bitcoin in a way someone will become a victim. If a stranger is asking for bitcoin or introducing you into new business, be it of high or low profit, it is more likely a scam, someone should not be greedy for this and should avoid such scammers. So, not even on forums, but everywhere.

Lol, although I never get such kind of mail on bitcointalk. However, it makes me laugh when remembering about this similar mail that I receive in my email (which used in freelancing platforms) plus the same method they use several months back. I tried to dig some information from them and after some conversations, they sent me several photos of grandma in a hospital, when I checked those photos on the internet it just fake photos to fool the people.

You can check your spam folder of your email to witness thousands of similar messages and its an obvious scam as you said so don't get desperate and click on any file/link from that mail because it could be a malware injected file and will stole money from you in no time.

You can report them as unsolicited PM and reward them with temp or perma ban.

this is like the nigerian prince. scam in the forum is very different from this one though. sometimes they want you to test the apps they created so they want you to download an apk. its not just via PM, they know how to find your telegram account as most of us just share the account here.

i sometimes reply to check what they are up to, i just don't download it. some of them can really manage to impersonate well on telegrams. they'd find it hard to do it in the forum for one single report, their account will end up useless.

Rule number one I learned is to never reply to messages from unknown people in forum.
I would also think twice before giving anyone my real email address or telegram account.
Some people can abuse this or ask you for some help and pretend they tell you they will pay you for this help.

This is one example spam message I received today from scammers:

Since my days are numbered, I've decided willingly to fulfill my long-time vow to donate you the sum ($8.5 000.000.00) million dollars I inherited from my late husband Mr. Edward Herbart, foreign bank account over years.

If you will be honest, kind and willing to assist in transfer of this money to his or her account and use the funds for charity work of God while you use 50% for yourself.
