Trash posts which are senseless, meaningless and unnecessary are quite annoying. But as much as many of us would like to avoid these things, we get tempted to respond to their nonsense in a way that will make them realize that they are not contributing anything of value to this forum. They are like an itch that needs to be scratched!

I think it is the job of the moderator to lock the finished topic because if that will not happen there will be endless loop of useless posts and unnecessary replies that can make FUDs in investors.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to say. If there is a post that is of a troll like nature on this forum, the best way to make it go away is to simply not reply to it. Posts with a super unrealistic and or dumb title gets bumped back to the top when yo reply to it. I keep seeing posts that should have been dead months ago because people reply to it. Remember the people that want BTC to fail also post on this forum. When spreading FUD it's easy to start like 5-10 posts knowing that all of your positive replies will bump them all to the top.

Just looking out for us. Smiley

Yes there are a lot of trash post. Including the one which was made by a legendary member who is asking about 51% attack. He became a legendary member without knowing anything about it. That is absurd. And the mods deleted my post for lambasting the trash post.

Just right, they have many trash post on this forum and other people they changed the information contained in this group of bitcoin. So that you discover what are the best thing or you and the only person that you can trust for informing you that is what you want to know.

This is just the top of the iceberg, also I can say when you are participating in this signature bounty campaign you should not post a reply to those topics because in order to not get your steaks decreased, while they will delete that topic.

If I see someone, specially newbies bumping and old thread or necro-posting, I immediately report it to mods to get that account ban. Usually they are bots, or just spamming the forum with useless post. As for the trolls or those shills, well its better to counter argue with them, specially when bitcoin price is on a declined, you will see post after post saying bitcoin is dead blah blah. So we can high light the flaws of their argument and give them a valid reason why bitcoin will continue and no amount of FUD will put it down just like that.

Indeed, we just have to ignore those negative and nonsense comments and posts in this forum. I am so particular with some posts that says Bitcoin will not be successful in the next years or Cryptocurrency will be dead in the future, but I just don't care about those trolls and I just continue what I do best and I believe that there will be a great future for us in Bitcoin.

Yes, I fully agree with the content of the thread. People should not reply to those trash post such that it will not circulate further. The most trash post I had seen was about bitcoin going to die which I believe it can cause a negative effect if it will continue to go on.

That was Actually as I observe, If try to reply in the thread it'll just be deleted by the moderator which will affect my number of post ang activity, and worse my post count for the campaign I joined. It can be the reason for me to be kicked out in the campaign  or stakes be lessen. So evaluate the topic of the thread before you quote or reply

i agree for this to don't reply to trash posts because the important here bitcoin and when your topic is not about to bitcoin don't post.

Yes dont reply to trash posts because your post might be deleted also. Dont reply the post with a non sense thing included. If you reply to that kind of post you might lose your effort or you might be banned or wasnt able to cope up all the requirements needed in campaign. If you will reply to any post be sure that it gives a good reply to avoid deleted posts.

Feeding the troll makes him win like supporting his goals. Ignore it or even report it directly to moderator for his thread to be removed. We don't need any trash posts here, mods are deleting tons of it and it burdens them as there are many users already which compete with bandwidth.

Most of the time you will encounter such posts but my advice for you is not to entertain it to avoid stress. Well not giving it attention is sometimes the best response that you can do. I must say that it's okay to be annoyed with those kind of posts but if you will not gonna reply you won. If there are instances that you really need to reply then do it nicely.

But sometimes we need to discuss something outside of Bitcoin. However, no matter what you discuss, it is not allowed to publish spam. That's pretty much the best place for them to spam some reply (with the same level of trash quality) to get the required postage amount for their bonus.

A question from a newbie may seems dump by a veteran member of cryptocurrencies. It is hard to differentiate a dump post and I think using the rank of the person making the post to judge if it is dump or not can be a criteria.

you're right, I'm also trying to apply this attitude but it's not always easy to calm down when you see the posts like I just read about bitcoin going down to $500.,,

I agree with author's subject where people should not reply to trash post that could have a negative impact to btc. In my case, I usually check the participants on a particular thread and same thing with the subject title that I consider a good one to reply. In the event that this certain trash subject will not be posted by the participants, this cannot penetrate to spread the destructive news to the many users and the community in general.

yes, I never answered any old topic, because I understand that if we do it then it will go back up, except if the old topic has a very important question. and sometimes make us confused, because many of the same topics, but with different sentence styles.

therefore leave the old topic, and take advantage of a new topic.
that is what we should all do, but there are also many new topics whose questions resemble old topics, but sometimes there are also old topics and it is very important also for reading and reading for beginners or newbie can know what they do not know when they have not joined in this forum, yes, as seniors here please be advised if for example many newbie that they ask a lot, because they also need direction from you seniors here.

Correct. Stay away from negative point of view of others. Dont make it run until the 100 page where non sense is being said and posted.

The thing is, people who post trash likes posting on trash topics. It's pretty much the best place for them to spam some replies(with the same level of trash quality) to get the required postcount for their bounties. That's why you see those trash posts having so much replies in less than an hour, compared to topics that are quite complicated for them(e.g. topics about BIP39 wallets, etc)

That is true, they use those topics to increase their number of posts for their bounty programs, so trashy posts go updated again. Those topics or questions usually just need a common sense to answer. Separating the newbies of course, but they should learn that before posting a new topic, they should have read first the rules and regulations in the forum.
I got used to report the trash topics to the moderator of the board and the mod can decide if the topic can be deleted because of various reasons (FUD, spam, scam, duplicate topic, spam megathread, etc...)
If every member would just report 10-15 trash topics per day, the forum will be much cleaner...
And also, spammers would realize there's  no need to open trash topics to post in it, because sooner or later these topics will get deleted and their post count won't increase...

I think replying to it won't make any difference when Mods decide to shred it to the waste bin that won't be accessed by unauthorized people. I also don't agree that not all should be ignored because some might actually be relevant to the current situations instead of creating another thread to discuss the same thing all over again.

But there are some that dont worth dignifying with response and most times when I see replies running into several pages, I wonder what people were really penning down as response. Threads that would talk about bitcoin heading to $1k another one to $500 with same objective and same direction of discussion but at same time, some worth response because of the new people or those not mature enough in the industry to be neutral to news such as those and they might need those responses to solidify their stand against all odds. I have been there before so I know what its about.

I don't ever think why there are such people that doing FUD because I believe that if you're not interested and unlike one thing then it is better that you go and leave that things or place but in here they are doing FUD just to prove that they don't want this system which is very irritated to see because the I believe that the main reason why we are still in here is because we love this system and we are believe in here so if we don't want this system, well, it is simple as like this, stop doing or making non sense things and FUD and then go and leave this forum.

You cannot leave the FUD uncontested, because it will quickly escalate into more FUD. The people spreading the FUD wants us not to respond with the truth, so that the people reading that FUD, believe what they say. I always counter their FUD, with the facts, because I want them to fail.

The Shills and the FUDsters will just increase, if we give them a uncontested platform to spread their lies. This is our Bitcoin forum and we have to stand up to these lies that are being spread.  Wink

Smiley
I think the best things to do with that which is posting with a non sense post or unrealistic is we need to reply on it, why? Because I think this is the right way to inform them that their post is not good and out of bound so in that way we can explain to them or we can give to them some advices on what they are going to do so for the next time that they will making post it became much quality and meaningful.

Thanks for the advice, am sure if most of us abide by these rules, bad posts won't get to the top. Let's get the best and interesting topics to the top instead by replying.

This rule was given by the moderator in the pinned topic, but it was not paid attention. Most of the junk topics are posted here by new members, and they are pushed up by you. it's really boring!

So i kind of get easily pissed off when i read negative once but now i know that if i do im kind of helping them so i wont reply anymore.

But sometimes we need to discuss something outside of Bitcoin. If you are always talking about bitcoins, you feel bored, so I think we can discuss a few things beyond Bitcoin sometimes, such as the World Cup or NBA.
However, no matter what you discuss, it is not allowed to publish spams

off topic is more up[ to the moderator i'm talking about the FUD posts with no evidence haha.

Do not reply to trash postings if you do not want them to exist if we do not answer, they will automatically float and long lead no one will be able to see them as they were. forgetfulness by every body.

Yes there are a lot of trash post. Including the one which was made by a legendary member who is asking about 51% attack. He became a legendary member without knowing anything about it. That is absurd. And the mods deleted my post for lambasting the trash post.

you're right, I'm also trying to apply this attitude but it's not always easy to calm down when you see the posts like I just read about bitcoin going down to $500.,,
