I don't live in the USA and as I see that the news channels and newspapers lie a lot or sometimes exaggerate a lot so I don't know to what extent he can be guilty, but if the justice convicted him it's because they have evidence of the accusations they think about him, I listened to his music and it's shocking to know that the guy committed these atrocities, 30 years old for his age is the same as saying he's going to die in jail. I hope that the victims can overcome the trauma and that he can change in jail. Now talking about fame and money, well people think having those two things makes them god, I see it in the behavior of many rich singers and actors, they think they are god and untouchable, because they think their money buys everything
He is one of my favourite artists too and I can't believe it , someone like him that have been listening to his music right from when I was a small boy is going through this hell. Sometimes I feel it is not real  or the real Kelly I know .if he is not guilty it will be so bad for him to spend all this years in jail.

It is very unfortunate that what R. Kelly, a musician who is famous for his song (I believe I can fly) did, cannot be justified in the slightest regardless of a musician or a famous person. Having a lot of money and popularity does not guarantee someone will escape the action of every crime he has to be prosecuted according to the laws in force in the US. I am grateful that this case has been rolled out and that R. Kelly has received a 30 year prison sentence for his crimes against sexual violence against women.

I would hardly describe raping multiple underage girls as a "slight mistake". Undecided
It's inhuman what R. Kelly did and the trauma he has left on those girls and there families. Practically using there teenage minds against them and manipulating it to suit his purposes.
He didn't end it at rapes and didn't limit it to teenagers even. Although the teenagers where his very targets but, once he perceived that you could be manipulated as a female, your pretty much in trouble.

Unfortunately for these girls, he was a celebrity figure and its always like, 'wow, kelly noticed me!' and the next thing, your being isolated go a point you don't see any other girl in the house despite how many, ask for permission to eat, to use the bathroom and don't even do anything of your own freewill. Like, how could someone be this evil. To take away someone's pride and made not to belong in the society.

What was even more amusing was, even during his triers, he was still looking out for more teenage girls in the crowd of supporters to violate. I wonder how he could do this and go through life everyday, knowing that he is causing so much pain to these girls and there families.

Am not entirely satisfied with the time he got but its good enough the law caught up with him. He needs to be off the streets for a longer time. Where age won't be on his side to do any more damage when he eventually gets out, that's if he does get out.

if you are famous. expect to be in the public eye. its exactly the definition. millions of people are watching you.

if you want to be a savage criminal doing heinous things. well lock yourself up and throw away the key. dont try denying it. just drop off a cliff and disappear

fame is not the path to thinking you can get away with a crime. no money should be able to hide such acts.
sure if you do a crime and rich. certainly pay the victim more then a lifetime of easy living. but also get castrated and slip off a cliff once the cheque clears.

dont bribe a victim into silence. compensate them for your actions and then take your own punishment separately from the compensation.

if you cant own up to your own actions and your effects you have on other people.. then stay away from other people, fame is not the job for you if you cannot cope with how you affect other people

The moral lesson from this story fame should not be taking for granted,  the slightest mistake can bring one low to square one in life, by then it will be too late for money and fame to come out and help.

For me fame has nothing to do with his unruly behavior except that he used it to attract his victims and made them perform some shameful acts. There are countless celebrities that are well behaved, hence it was not fame that instilled that criminal behavior in him. If this crime was committed by someone else, that person would still get the same punishment or even more. The morale lesson for me is that we must learn to apply self control because our right stops where other people's right starts. Also we must learn to treat people the way we want to be treated. Would he be happy if someone did to his daughters what he was doing to his victims? R.Kelly have always been a cheat and derived pleasure in having lust dealings with underage girls. the case of Aaliyah is still fresh in my memory.

A legendary US singer knonw as R Kelly has been jailed 30 year imprisonment for sex crime, this act has been his lifestyle for sometime in his music career.  The moral lesson from this story fame should not be taking for granted,  the slightest mistake can bring one low to square one in life, by then it will be too late for money and fame to come out and help.

This is babaric and uncalled for, i saw the news headline as well and felt bad within me that it couldn't have been him, this is not about his music career or numbers of touching albums released, some of these celebrities had an irritating moral conducts that is hunting down thier career gradually without them knowing, let's take the instance of Chrisbrown as well, I can't count on the number of times he had been involved on street and domestic violence, and many other social misconducts not to talk of several terms of being a convicts, yet you will discover some fans wanted to be like them or take them as role models, personal upbringings matters alot, while most celebrities leaves a fake life, I'd rather be myself and build up a good societal potential that will please myself and the people at large.
Fame should not be taken for granted, yes, the moment you are are rich and famous, everything you do must be questioned by the press, eyes are on you,and would want to know the reasons why you take every single action you take.Your privacy is now been checked, observed and watched because you are a celebrity.
In the other way round, the moment one start being popular, the open door of favour starts locating you because you are now a public figure,a topic of discuss. One must be careful of some of the things he or she does as a celebrity and must be mindful of the private live he or she lives.

do you know one thing about infamous famous is like someone who is a president so whatever thing you doors will be known by every person that will be another of the day even though it is bad idea or suggestion you suggested so provided that you are are famous nobody can dislike your information on what comes out from your mouth that is why some people normally have money but they don't like to show their self because many interviews will be flying around the wherever they go information will be speculating

The World at large is against Rape and anybody no matter how powerful or famous should be felt sorry if found guilty of Rape. According to the report, the Super Star singer faced different counts chargers of child molestation, rape, and sexual harassment. He was tried and he was found guilty of the crime so nobody should feel sorry for him, he had all the money but he chose to be heartless and maybe he was demonic I don't care I believe he should face the consequences of his evil deeds so that other stars can also learn from his punishment.

Being famous is good but using your fame to commit crimes against humanity Is not good, R Kelly committed all this evil acts thinking that he will not be caught one day but thank God for exposing his evil ways I believe he will regret even being a star and doing evil too.

This case of the musician is not a slight mistake, it is evil. The worst thing about it is doing with minors who are up to the age of being adult.  He claims to be innocent which I doubt about it, it is not possible to claum to be innocent of crime that has occurred not just once but happens to be severally.

OP maybe doesn't understand English that much, or he doesn't understand what rape is, and I really hope it's the first one, and that's it's a ''slight mistake'' on his side. As for Kelly, the only thing that shocked me is that it took so long for him to get sentenced, I remember stories circulating rather publicly a while back. I guess money can buy you extensions on trials, but it can't make anyone forget what he did. The moral of the story is not not to take fame for granted, but not to be a piece of shit human being, fame or not.
