i am glad that i read this thread for this do's and don'ts. as much as i can i will try to learn about this bitcoin , feed and my mind and i will share my knowledge to other members for what i have learned. Bitcoin is not all about making money, it is a technology and innovation as a whole.
People always make broad statements for newbies like "be helpful and don't shitpost", but newbies can't really feel the full difference between a shitpost and a good post. Writing shitposts is not always a sign of laziness or stupidity, it can often be just a lack of experience so it's kinda a natural phase for many. I'm sure that if you went to check the early posts of people with many hundreds of merits, many of them would be not so great compared to their current posts. I'm an advocate of using this forum naturally, like any other social network - don't be obsessed with ranking up and earning merits, just express your opinions and participate in discussions, if you'll earn merits that's good, if not then don't worry, it's just a forum.

I have recently came across so many posts which ask how to earn money on the forum and was surprised to see how new members perceive this forum? They simply make an account to join bounty campaigns or for signature campaigns to earn money not as an member of discussion forum which is sad to see. I know they tend to ignore such post and keep on repeating the same mistakes but still if some could spare some time to read these and might help themselves a little bit it would be really nice for all of us.
Well, it's not going to really affect us if we don't let it. But it's either we are really nice enough to help them or we are doing it with the intention of adding more posts for our signature campaigns. It's a win-win right? 
The essential don't in this forum is plagiarism, many newbies often unaware of plagiarism until they already got banned and it's the end of their journey.
Plagiarism is treated very strict on the forum and when it is detected by anyone on the forum, reported to moderators and get handled, mostly the result would be permanent ban.If a user who plagiarised does not have good net-contribution on the forum, there will be no second chance and permanent ban is irreversible.

For do is really subjective from each person used this forum for, some people use only for offering a service, silent reader, earn airdrop or giveaway, etc. At least be a good person and don't plagiarism are enough.

There are already many topics in which newbies can read; it's just that not all of them read it. That's the unfortunate part, but most of the time, it's the same rules for different forums. I think it's better to save these topics that could help newbies and send them to them in their posts. Many newbies are going to post in the future and not read about these topics.

The forum contains many topics with Do's and Don't's; unfortunately, many newcomers don't pay attention to them. I couldn't believe how many people have no clue about etiquette when engaging people in an online discussion forum such as this one. Apparently, some people have no concern for others other than themselves. That's just plain wrong.
Actually from what you draft out so far it's seems as part of the rules and regulations of the community which is already in existence but nevertheless it's encouraging to newbies who are ignorant of begging for Merit, I'm emphasising via your section of TRY NOT TO DO CONDITION it's audible to the dealf and very visible to blinds that forum forbid a user who solict for Merit in order to rank up, we have a simple criteria or steps to earn a Merit instead of begging for it, Merit is been award through creativity, innovation and Determination, those newbies who are solicting for Merit have to devote out time to make a research.
This is not any official thread or guide to the newbies but just an advice from one member to other members that what we need to do and what we can avoid on this forum and make some effective contributions on the forum to promote healthy environment here.Here is brief discussion for such things:
1)LEARN BEFORE POSTING:
If you want to post something than you must have knowledge about that particular thing aside from asking some help.If you come across any article or good post than try to learn from it and have complete knowledge about that thing instead of writing anything irrelevent in the post.This will increase your post quality also and make it a habit which will help you.
2)POST IN PROPER FORMAT:
Try to post in proper format like quote the right person and in right manner or any document or image you want to share must be in proper and attractive format and your post must not look messy.Use tools above writing area to write up your posts.
3)SEND MERITS AS YOU EARN THEM:
You all are familiar with merits and smerits.You receive merits for the quality posts made by you and you can send half of them as you earn them to other members.So you must encourage other members by sending merits instead of piling them up wit you.So you must make proper utilization of merit system.
4)ACTIVE AND EFFECTIVE PARTICIPATION ON FORUM:
This is one of the most important thing which we must keep in mind that we need to contribute effectively and promote healthy discussions on the forum which in turn can reward you in form of merit and rank up.You need both merits and activity to reach next rank.Give useful information to members and learn from them in return and just don't post anything irrelevent and shitposting.Be an useful assest to the forum.
5)DYOR AND HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT YOU ARE POSTING:
What you are writing and going to post on the forum you must be aware about that and have enough knowledge about that topic so that you don't sound like fool in your posts.You can have idea about the ongoing discussion from the members post below the @OP post and you can get an idea what is being discussed there.Then simply Do your own research on that topic and found some details regarding it.

This is happening a lot on the forum these days as newbie simply ask for merits but it's wrong way because if the quality of your post is good enough to merit then you won't face any such situations and will automatically gets merit from members on the forum.There are many new members who have registered on forum this year only and reach full rank or even near senior rank merit but only lags merit.Learn from them and work on your posts quality.
2)ONLY COMPLETE YOUR SIGNATURE REQUIREMENTS:
Most of the members do the same thing and it seems they are only posting to complete their signature requirements of say 20-25 posts per week and which requires pure perfection because some posts get deleted by moderators.But still they keep doing the same way and just limits them to complete only their weekly posts to get paid.But you need to go one step extra and be active participant of forum.
