There is no way to connect a device that is waiting for a dhcp server on the other end to a pc, it will never work.

Unless that miner has a static ip then you can not simply connect it to a pc and expect to work.

There is a workaround and it is not very simple, op has solved his problem already, i will make a complete guide on how to connect miner to pc without the need of router.

The reason why I request to you to connect your miner directly to PC it's because I want to fix the 169.254.x.x first and make your miner set to static IP where you can manually put custom IP, subnet and DNS.

If you fix the 169.254 issue you can access the GUI or the miner's dashboard again directly from your PC that has no internet connection.(No WIFI)

If you can't still access it the only thing that I know can fix it is to reset it to factory default so that the IP will reset back to 192.168.x.x this is a common IP of the miner.

Ok, Can you try this method below?

- Change the PC to static and put the IP manually follow the image below.

- Now after setting it up make sure that you remove all connection from the PC like wifi and other LAN cables disconnect them.
- Next step is connect the miner again directly to PC.
- After that open angryIP scanner and put 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255 as the image below.

- After that click the ping and sort it by ping. You should see alive IP's
- Now access every IP through a browser and I hope you can find the GUI of the miner.
If you are lucky reset it to factory default through the miner's GUI just somewhere after you log in.

- Now set your PC back to "obtain IP automatically"
- Open your command prompt(CMD) and type ipcofig /all now it should show the correct miner's IP
- Now access the miner again through a browser with the assigned IP
- Access the GUI and look for a network tab where you can set the miner to Static IP
- Now put this
IP: 172.16.2.90
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
DNS: 8.8.8.8
- Then save
- Reboot the miner and remove the LAN cable from the PC and put it back to your router.
- This is the assigned IP of the miner 172.16.2.90 where you can access the GUI through the browser.

If this still doesn't work much better to bring this issue to official thread from here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2443327.2480.

yes the parts are the same on the dragonmint.
it has ipset and a reset button.
i tried these buttons allready but it didnt worked,
tomorrow i can try using ipconfig and check if the ip changes or trying anything else
in combination with the new informations i have gathered here to find a solution.

if anything changes i will report.

Edit: The IP is still the same. 169.254.157.47, but miner itself has DHCP.
One question: Should the miner be connected directly to the router or is it okay to connect it to the PC?

i have the feel the main Problem is the standardgateway.
when i turn dhcp on there is no standardgateway.
the miner also doesnt send any packages.

when i tried to put in manually the thp/ip data
ipv4 172.16.2.35
subnetmask 255.255.255.0
standartgateway 172.16.2.1 (router)
dns 8.8.8.8

an info message from windows appearing saying:
many standardgateways offer redunancy for one Network (for example Intranet or Internet). the standardgateways dont work properly, when they are on two seperated Networks (one Gateway in Intranet and one in Internet). Should the configurations Safed?

i also tried to run windows diagnosis. first it said restart the router. after i did that it said: standartgateway wrong.
when i used Google it said that the standartgateway is the router adress. when it wont connect to the standartgateway it doesnt connect to the Network at all and i think that explains why i cant Access the site and it doesnt send any packages. i mean when i use the ipscanner it is finding the ip but i dont have any access to the miner.

EDIT: I found out the the ip 169.254.X.X is a most common ip for ip connection Problems. it says that there is a problem that it doesnt give any dhcp ip and when it cant windows gives automatically a ip in this range. the internet site says i have to check if the dhcp in lan is active or free ips to give (the problem mikeywith mentioned in his thread)

EDIT As mentioned in the other thread i made a progress. with the help of mikeywith i have set up the dhcp connection on my computer and now i am able to recieve packages in the connection. the ip is still the same and it is still unknown how to acess the site.

This IP 169.254.157.47 it seems that your miner is getting "invalid IP config" or "bricked or corrupted program" according to the image above.
I think you should do here is to fix the IP config I experienced this problem before but not in the miner mostly I can fix this issue by using our company software I don't know how it works but it looks like it is scanning the IP ranges from 10.0.0.0 to 192.168.254.255 with port 80,443 and 23.

Anyway, I'll try to find this tool soon as I forgot the folder and name of this tool. What I think right now is if you can find the hard reset button because I can't find the hard reset method from Google with this model.

Can you try the reset method from Bitmain from here How to reset miner to factory settings.

If it still doesn't work flashing the miner with SD card might solve the issue.

You are talking about the subnet mask.

I meant the subnet itself.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subnetwork

no it isnt when it automatically connects it gives the ip 169.254.157.47. Far away from my local network range. i tried to set the ethernetconnection to the same subnet manually (with beginning 172.16.2.X)
https://www.bilder-upload.eu/bild-eaa6fa-1552857709.png.html
the good thing is that the ip scanner found the ethernet connection.
when i turn on the miner the symbol also lights up.
https://www.bilder-upload.eu/bild-3d3383-1552859274.png.html

but when i try to access the ip via browser it says no connection.
here are the ip settings for the ethernet connection
https://www.bilder-upload.eu/bild-0aee45-1552859963.png.html
at the ip i took the ending 30 as ungiven ending
then the same subnetmask of my wlan pc internet vonnection
and also the same dns server
the standart gateway is the ip from the router.

as in my post before i also recognize that the connection doesnt send any packages back.
it has always been like that.
maybe thats the reason that i cant access the site because no information is getting from the miner to the computer.

i also heard that the miner connects with dhcp only.
so i dont know if its the right way to change the ip adress manually because then it would be tcp/ip.

Are you in the same subnet with the Dragonmint?

When i look on my screenshot it seems like it is in different subnets
the ethernet connection is 255.255.0.0

my wlan pc internet connection has subnet 255.255.255.0.

It seems that you can't find the miner's IP with your scanner and maybe your router is in static IP or DHCP is disabled or your miner is in static IP.

Can you do this.

- Connect your ethernet cable from the miner directly to your PC
- Open Command promt(CMD)
- Then type ipconfig /all

And let's see if you can detect the miner's IP If it shows IP on default gateway then access it through browser and login to the miner's dashboard and find the network settings and check if your network type is in Static or in DHCP if it's Static change it to DHCP then apply after that reboot and connect the miner to router back again then scan it again with your IP scanner.

When i put off the miner it gives me this
https://www.bilder-upload.eu/bild-888dc9-1552846236.png.html

When i turn on the miner it gives me this but after a short period of time
sometimes it does sometimes it dont
https://www.bilder-upload.eu/bild-fc9caa-1552846076.png.html

the telephone also appears to be offline after i turned on the miner
https://www.bilder-upload.eu/bild-9417cc-1552846834.png.html

it seems like its reacting to that ip address.

Maybe you put wrong settings in your angryIP that is why you can find the exact IP of your miner.
Look at mine below so that you can get some idea.

What you do is to check first if what is your gateway ip just like the image above.
As you can see my gateway IP is 192.168.1.1 so I put 192.168.1.1 from the IP range to 192.168.1.255 and then netmask(don't touch) and hostname(don't touch)

So, if your gateway IP is sample 192.168.254.1 you must put this in the ip-scanner range from 192.168.254.1 to 192.168.254.255

Then collect alive IP's if there is no hostname shows you can test the alive ip's one by one.

Hello Guys,
hope someone can help me. I bought the Dragonmint T1 and i set everything up. Lights are coming on and the miner is working.
But there is an issue: I cant find the IP adress or get anything to get access to the miner. Here are the things i tried:

- I connected the ethernet cable to two different computers and got the same issues.
- I tried to connect the miner directly to the router and it also doesnt work
- The connection reacts to restartings, on/off and plug in and off of the ethernet cable but it says: unidentified network
i see that it is sending packages to the miner but the miner itself doesnt send anything back. when i used the windows troubleshooting
   it says: No IP Configuration
- I tried to change the ip adresses manually but it still doesnt find anything
- I checked if dhcp is activated
- I restarted the router, the computers and the miner, also tried set ip on the miner
- After AngryIPScanner i also tried a different scanner which is called AdvancedIPScanner

A problem that i have is, that i am not the admin of the router, so i cant check the specs, ips and such but i have all permissions to connect devices to the network because i have the internet access keys (not the router password)

I really hope there is still a solution to get it to run and someone helps me. Thank you very much.
