I think you got an awful teacher for an interesting course.  You can ask your friends or online who already took the course that you desire for their evaluation prior enrolling and availing the course.  By doing this, you can infer if the course will suit you or not.

Anyway, I just want to also say that take a good break, OP.  Hopefully, you will get a new course that suits you very well.  For now, take advantage of the break to rest and recover.

I'll be retaking with a different teacher one day!!! Smiley

Been there done that. Funnily enough, it was also philosophy. Seriously, what is up with professors teaching philosophy? There should be so much conversation and interaction between students and the professors in this course. The course is literally littered with questions.

For me, this course is a really interesting one and allows one to self-reflect and even observe his or her environment. If enough students complain to your university, maybe they can take this professor out. Keeping him would just be a waste of resources.

On a side note; I’m going to take a further. break from all this online garbage and be back when I feel better. I had several threads and youtube comments to discuss and reply to as well as deals all ruined by this bullshit.

Recently I felt like there was no time for me to be trying to do anything other than school related stuff here, so I left bitcointalk for a couple of days.

Today, I had to leave this course. It's horrible.

theres no practice worksheets just his lectures and “problem sets” which are graded 60% total, far more than the midterm+final combined (15% and 25%)

no extra credit for retaking the sets. no extra problems for extra credit

refuses to answer all of his questions on these problem sets saying hes under no obligation

expects us to take the midterm without giving us back 3 of our homework sets, one of them he hasnt even graded yet and he wont until the same day as the midterm (Hes also slow at grading these, been over 2-3 weeks for the last few.) along with the fact that we get no time to study, even if you wanted to work on this early it was hella confusing

^since hes slow, there should be some sort of online practice where we can immediately receice grades but he acts as if he teaches this class well enough

half the class dropped out with more people saying they gonna drop out on the discord it was packed on day 1

tells us to not use the book on the first say saying it wont be helpful for his course since he teaches it differently , only today tells us the book will be good for some places

no tutors at this university

144p videos (high quality if you download them) but he is literally difficult to hear in all of them

even the people who been doing very good all throughout the course are starting to flunk

reddit reviews also saying this dude sucks

its as if half our questions me and other people ask have been getting ignored too, gotta ask him via class time to get a guaranteed response
or his 30 minute office hours which is like every few days
all this was partially on me for not studying during the first few but it just looks like even if i score good on everything else i wont be passing
for an introductory course it is crazy how he just hides the answers to the questions he gives , only provides some then he says not obligated to provide the rest and doesnt care
if u scored bad on one of them and theres no answer for it shown ur basically left in the dark
that can be bypassed if a student does well on them because they can just share their work, but still havent received homework back due to his slow grading and even the ppl who did good r flunking the recent ones now so absolutely nothing

The worst part is teacher genuinely gets annoyed/frustrated when you ask him questions or try to make him stay late in class especially when combining all of the other factors I listed here ITS AN INTRODUCTORY COURSE.
