It is very rare when citizens are proud of their president. The main thing that he fulfilled all that he promised people. The situation with the Philippines is very eloquent in the fight against the underworld. Probably this was the first slogan of the pre-election campaign.

A temporary lull in the proliferation of drugs have been achieved, but I don't know for how long this is going to last. And Duterte can't allow the vigilante squads to massacre people forever. He needs to step in at some point, and it will be interesting when that happens.

I think that this is not a lull, and just the mafia regrouped under new conditions and acquired new contacts in the police. Then everything will be exactly the same, but the statistics will speak on the decline. Corruption is invincible.

This will be impossible if there's so many people who opposes his campaign. The problem is there is division in the government because of political parties. Even if the president wants to eliminate it in short span of time, if there are so much antagonist, this will be hard to achieve. The reality is that there are some government officials who are involved in drug trade. They are even making the scenario worst.

His advocacy of eliminating drugs in the country was very remarkable. People have to understand these things.

1. The President can't do it alone. Sad to say, but there are people who only thinks of their personal interest. Instead of supporting the president, what they do is to accuse and make things worst.

2. Opposing the president won't help. There are higher rank politicians who opposes the president's advocacy. I still don't understand why. If only the .
government officials were united as one. His campaign or advocacy won't be hard to achieve.

3. If every Filipinos follow his advocate and support him all the way. A drug free Philippines will be accomplished. But I guess, its hard or even impossible to achieve.

I'm looking forward on that day that I wont be afraid to walk in the streets during evening because I feel secured.

As President Duterte said in his past interviews he will not follow what President Ferdinand Marcos did in the country. Declaring Marshall Law according to his greediness that ruined the Filipino's trust will never be happened again. Duterte stated he don't want to prolong his presidency until he slaughtered all the drug users and drug pusher in the Philippines.

That is a good point you brought up.
Why hasn't Russia tried to move in and put order to the Philippines?
Wouldn't they have interest in the resources there or the selling of arms if their president is part of the armed death squad against a losing war against drugs?
More arms are needed if he does want to win that war he has put his hand in the ring.
Which he can never withdraw from it now.
It is just to late for that now.

Well its good that some of them got scared, but there are times that this just gives those drug lords an idea to hide more and keep their transactions away from the eyes of the government.

Aside from that, this killings has an effect too to the people, what if one day those authorities enter your house accusing you that you have drugs hidden there even if you don't have. Some of this authorities are also abusing their power because of this.

Lets just hope that they do their task without too much killing or as much as possible not as harsh as before.

Highly doubt that President Duterte will declare Martial Law as what Ferdinand Marcos did. If ever he did declare it, he will not turn The Philippines into another communist country as you saying. Of course his war on drugs has run over not only drug personalities but politicians as well. That's why he doesn't want The Philippines into narco-drug country. And because of this a lot of those affected are creating destabilization plot against his government maybe, just maybe because of this coup rumors going around, he might declare Martial Law but not to be a dictatorship be to somewhat control those who are against his policy on drugs.

Yah, i also thought this POVERTY but the first is the Corruption in our self, we the filipino people( if you are) some ( not all filipino ) of us abusing the service of our Government or our fellow ( one kind of corruption) and just to get more money for example is the loan. I see and experienced this kind of simple abused by my classmate, in government they also give some loan for people but some of it abused and run for not paying it ( the government has to do more work and they will not wasting time to chase the person also there are lot of abuser, how they can chase it all?).

I think this Corruption can't stop but we can less it.

While the President is busy in killing drug addicts on the street, the war against abu sayaff in Mindanao continues, and our grip on west Philippines sea is starting to soften. Arms procurement is a least priority, and by that said, modernization of our armed forces is also been stagnant in its position right now.

Actually, he may be focusing in fighting drugs in the Philippines but whats amazing is that it made people more aware of being more disciplined. I love that our government atleast has something to focus on. It gives people hope for change and a better country. I just hope we move on soon to other more pressing issues. However, it's great to see that change indeed came.
