I know with claymore you can run eth + decred or sia, but what if I wanted to mine eth + monero for example or eth + anything not supported by claymore.  Is there any reason you can't run eth on claymore by itself and then run a different miner at the same time?

I don't think you understand how dual mining on claymore works.

I will try to explain, claymore main principle is ETHASH algo based as PRIMARY and LBRY, PASC/PASL, DECRED (probably the 1st coin on dual mining), SIA as secondary coin.

It is programmed in such a way where you can't use any other above non listed algos.

Hope it makes sense, if not please let me know, i can elaborate.

Thanks.

Right, I understand if it's not supported by claymore, you can't run it.  What I mean is if you use a different miner, so effectively running two different mining softwares at the same time.
