Yes, grounds go together. Your motherboard has common ground paths between the cards, it's better that you ground them yourself rather than letting voltage differentials flow through the cards and boards.

Hi All

Just wondering if people who use x2 PSU's (one for MB/GPU's) and the other ONLY for the 12v to power GPU's ONLY (on cut powered risers)

Do you bother grounding both supply together  ??

I switch coth mine on/off via a  Dual PSU 24-Pin Adapter Cable
