Just a guy who is pretty sure he remembers signing up for a wallet in the early days of bitcoin, and receiving a free bitcoin as part of a promotion to get users signed up. It would most likely have been an online wallet, if not, then a linux desktop wallet.

Can anybody confirm that bitcoin.org or another site was running a "free bitcoin" wallet promotion at some point?
Or is this just wishful and greedy thinking on my part?

So far, I've tried using my email address on Coinapult, Green Address, BitGo, Coin.Space.
No luck.

I *think* it was through bitcoin.com...which would probably make it the Bitcoin Core desktop. I haven't found my pass phrase, so I may be hooped, even if I did get a wallet and coin.

Any leads appreciated.

I found a 12-word passphrase in my OneDrive.
