- Buy bitcoin with your extra money very often and hold.
Check

- Do not go into trading game until you are master in it.
This makes sense but there is another thing when you lose in trading, but I'm not telling you to go lose all day lol, I mean everyone of us started and learned the hard way of trading, there were times that we often think to stop trading coz we're all losing but the thing is every mistake you make in trading, you always learn from it becoming you more aware of what trading is all about. Be careful with exchanges practice/demo tool.
- Don't listen to all those gurus, they are here to sell their signal which are useless.
Buy their speculation, dig your own grave  Cheesy

OP you should specify what field you are interested in so others can give you the appropriate advice.
I've been here for three years so not quite an early member but during my stay here I noticed that the most repeated and valuable advice are:
 - Don't invest what you can't afford to lose.
 - Not your keys, not your coins.

But the most important thing is this:
Have fun

Let me itemize the nuggets here:

1. Always remember that the cryptocurrency industry isn't a get rich quick business. Patience is key here.
2. Get an ear plug. Use it during hype. Hypes soon fade away.
3. Avoid faucets like a plague. They're a waste of time and data.
4. Always save any site you visit on your homepage. It saves you from phishing sites and malware. If you must access any exchange for the first time, go through the CMC (coinmarketcap) site. Thereafter, save the link on your phone's homepage.

Hi there

I would like to ask the people who joined this community in its first years. What tip you could give new members who just got into crypto

If you are new to crypto, it is best to study, research and learn about the economics and fundamentals of crypto.  There are lots of sites that gives information about cryptocurrency.  If you are not inclined on reading you can also watch videos from youtube.

You can learn about crypto on this YT channels:

Known's Crypto Cave
Altcoin Daily
Crypto Zombie
Lark Davis previously known as Crypto Lark

This also gives a good insight about Bitcoin pattern:

Hi there

I would like to ask the people who joined this community in its first years. What tip you could give new members who just got into crypto

Well, here goes my tips:

1. Everything that glitters is not gold - avoid any program that offers you interest/passive income against a deposit. Rather look for POS coins for passive incomce
2. Using cryptocurrency doesn't give you a leeway from the real world taxes - be a good citizen
3. Avoid using darknet for purchases. Usually enforcement agencies keep a track of darkweb activities
4. Learn crypto trading to make money but avoid shady exchanges.

My tips are more around the usability of cryptocurrencies, taken from real life experience. Hope it helps!

Hi there

I would like to ask the people who joined this community in its first years. What tip you could give new members who just got into crypto

My tip as a member of this community, learn everything you can. Knowledge is the power in this community. Your knowledge and dedication to learn more will help you a lot to gain more bitcoin and other crypto-currency. It will help you to track the nicest path to earn more. And it will help you determine what is a good decision to make in different ways of earning in crypto like trading.

Avoid bounties and airdrops. Waste of time and effort for chump change, if they ever materialize.

This is true but if you're lucky some bounties and airdrop will give you a little amount. It's a waste of time and effort if you have other options to earn more.

Do not buy when the price is high, or rising (avoid fomo).

Do not sell when the price is falling (avoid fear).

Do not trade on emotion.  Be cold.

Or, even more simply:  do not trade bitcoin.

Just buy it today, and spend it later, in the future.

Always sell less than what you buy, and you will always have some to sell in the future.

Patience is the key in this realm.

Hi there

I would like to ask the people who joined this community in its first years. What tip you could give new members who just got into crypto

I joined this forum about 8 years ago, and I have seen the ups and downs of cryptocurrency. Nowadays the main reason for holding cryptocurrency is to make profits out of it. When I joined in 2012, none of us expected that Bitcoin prices would go up by 1,000x. Most of us supported cryptocurrency for ideological reasons. Anyway, there are a few simple things to keep in mind if you want to get rich from cryptocurrency:

1. Hold your coins safely and securely. Just follow the basic safety precautions, such as 2FA and email confirmation
2. Never ever listen to FUD
3. Never do panic selling
4. Always remember that Bitcoin is the original cryptocurrency and give it a higher priority when compared to the other altcoins
5. Stay away from all the pyramid schemes and ponzis, no matter how attractive they sound

Just like to ask you also what you would like to do in your life in crypto?

Many people come in here for different reasons,
*trading
*pure investment
*Some sort of gambling

It could be best not to hurry towards crypto, it takes time to fully make yourself ready to it. These things will help you to guide what you need to acquire first before getting involved in one of those. Because I'd choose to become a trader, then I spend more time into the trading discussion, the same we'll do to the rest. We should have one thing to focus on first before we jump into another one.

I'm not the first ones who are here in the forum but I think I can share at least some tips that could help you right now.

-If you have a salary, do cost averaging where a portion of your salary will be invested into Bitcoin. Do it monthly and you will not regret it.
-Don't ride to different hypes especially the DeFi hype right now. You'll regret it for real.
-Don't invest into something that you don't know. Always do a deep research.

Some here shared their opinions too. Hope these will help you be a better investor than the others Smiley.

Didn't join here at first year but still I consider myself as early member as its only ~10 years of BTC to be here. We have a very long way to go and I can tell my Grandchildren that I was a very early bitcoiner.

Bitcoin is here to stay and surely just like other assets which is passed on generation after same thing will happen with bitcoin as well. Only thing do not just invest at one go and divide it accordingly so that on dips it can be bought. Try investing in tops coins initially and do not invest in anything blindly without knowing about the coin as some of them could just dump badly.

As a beginner in crypto its not hard to caught with it. Actually you can learn it easily as long as you are really interested to give time with it. Its fun when I first enter the world of crypto its like a new world for me cause the things related to it are really advanced. As you grow deeper on the crypto and blockchain later on you could be fond of trading and there is the fun starts where you should be able to learn advanced skill through watching and learning technical skills on trading.

For new members, basically, you must do know more about the field you have engaged, since you are now getting into the industry of cryptocurrency, you must know that there are certain risks that are associated on anything you would do but do not worry too much for those could be manageable if you would make yourself knowledgeable about it. It does not certainly mean you can be assured to gain safety for there are still long term members who still fall into scams. Being knowledgeable is just lessening the probability of getting caught off guard by those scammers and hackers.

When it comes to trading and investing, only give what you can afford to lose or the amount tolerable for you to give out. Do always keep yourself updated so you won't believe easily on the here says coming from other members that might be just leading you into the wrong path of information. Trust your instincts based on stated facts that you have researched by your own self. Do not get driven by emotions on doing decisions for you might regret doing such by the end of the day.

True. Keep to this. And when you join any bounty, don't put all your hope on it because they are bunch of disappointment there in the bounty section. When you miss to meet up with your weekly post, don't feel regret. Most times a week stake is less than $0.000001.   Grin

Things are now different both in this industry and community in general. Adjustments therefore is a must if you have knowledge before, about this community. But if you are a new one, select a goal.

If you would engage yourself on investments, always keep in mind the risk as its counterpart. Know what you are investing your money with. Do not be afraid to ask if you have questions in your mind. Always consider holding no matter how bad the situation is, if you really trust your investment and do not allow doubts to get in your way. Trading is a bit tricky if you are about to get into it, reading people's experiences would be a huge help. Last but not the least, never stop seeking knowledge.

If it is regarding this community or forum, things are different compared from before. If you are brought here by those hearsays of "easy profit" or "profit without investments", "bounty campaigns" and such, you will need to work hard, as simple as that in order to "earn".

Better to look around and explore this community first, read and take down notes. There will be a lot of information overload, but that's good though, at least you will learn how to filter all this information to your advantage.

Others have mentioned a lot already, but it will be a continuous journey, specially if you chooses to become a full time trader. So it might take years for you to learn but there are no shortcuts, you have to work really hard to reach your goals.

- There's no such things about instant money (e.g. ponzi scheme, bitcoin doubler, cloud mining, deposit to earn reward etc).
- Avoid as much as possible any third parties asking to submit KYC to prevent from crime nor $5 wrench attack.
- Avoid airdrop, bounties, faucet, referral, or any kind micro earnings because they're wasting your time.
- Double or triple check your address before send or receive coins.
- Always bookmark the right url to prevent get phished.
- Use https everywhere and install adblock.
- Use reputable and trusted wallet, do your own research in this forum nor google search.
- Don't hold your coins trough third parties (e.g. exchanges) because it's not safe. Not your keys not your coins.
- Avoid installing unsafe softwares.
- Don't believe any kind speculation from any analysis, most of them only shilling his service

And the most important thing is Don't invest a coin/token if you didn't know what you invest for

The best way to approach it would be to lose all hope, think of the worst thing that could happen. If you're ready to spend $1k today, think of it like it's gone. Don't start dreaming what you'll buy when it goes 10x and you have 10k to spend or you'll get nervous avery time the price goes down and start spending time observing the charts like an addict.
Also, learn some basic rules like not your keys-not your coins. Get a hardware wallet, learn to keep your computer clean, don't use online wallets and don't hold on exchanges.

not part of an early people who joined this community but i think some of my tips could help a little:

- don't invest to projects you don't fully understand or don't fully explain how their project works
- invest what only you can afford to lose
- most of the newly projects really don't guarantee good profit and most of them are just after your money
- invest to bitcoins and altcoins with good volume in the market and stay away from the lower ones
- stay away to some easy or fixed profit investment most likely they are scam. there is no such thing as easy money
- theres's a lot of frauds and scammers be careful, do research and always ask first there's nothing wrong with asking
- don't stop learning knowing basic knowledge about cryptocurrency might not be enough
- appreciate the beauty of the cryptocurrency and blockchain technology and others

  • Never fall for Pump and Dump coins as it is not the right way to earn profits and most probably you will end up losing all your money.
  • Don't borrow money or take a loan to invest money in cryptocurrency. Consider it as a hobby and only invest the extra money you have and you think won't  stress you even if you lose it.
  • Practice trading with dummy accounts or with the least capital until you think you are ready to for professional trading.
  • Dont panic sell when the market is down because the market will recover sooner or later. Be patient and change your strategy as per the trend

- Don't make any loan to invest, you will be in a race with loan repayment that can make your decision worse than it should be.
- Don't use leverages on exchanges. Trading is not bad but leverage trading while don't know how to manage it is terrible.
- Try to learn and make your own opinion on market, don't listen to other opinion and be directed by them.
- Don't join signal groups that will make you more lazy and rely on signals (opinion, analysis) of group owners.
