This post was based on my observation so far since the introduction of Merit system.
Follow the under listed steps:
1. Look for a post that complains about the Merit system.
2. Tell the OP to stop whining and instead make quality post.
3. You can even go through the OP posts history and call them shitposts that doesn't deserve merits.
4. Sit back and expect your Merit.

Bonus point
Make a post on merit abusers, that can also earn you that much coveted merit.

NB: I appreciate the effort the Admins and Mods put in trying to improve this forum and reduce/eliminate shitposters but I do think Merit 2.0 is needed to fix some flaws in the system.
I don't think it work now that the smerits were running out. For us newbies and jr members here we just have to think that jr member would be the highest that we can get. Never mind the merits because it won't come and better not to look at the meta thread to help you forget that there is a merit system in this forum.

4. Sit back and expect your Merit.
I don't expect merit it doesn't work that way right now. For jr. members like me won't earn merit if we won't gather knowledge to help us create good quality post. If someone tell me that I am a shitposter or spammers I would also tell them that when you start from the beginning you're also a spammer and shitposter until you achieved what you have right now.

It is a great way and many people used it, when merit comes, but now people already immune to this kind of strategy. Better think off something original and helpful for people, and deliver it in an unique way, or you will be left out by others.

wow. what a incredable and awesome post sir!.
by the way. i see'ing and i observe that only 45% of this furom not related to merit. so came-on guys dont be over thinking of miret. lit the miret cames to you and dont set to your mind that you need to gain a lot of miret.
I usually don't reply or quote posts like this but using the "miret" instead of the Merit several times in one sentence (which means it's not a simple typo but something else...) is something I need to stop and have a closer look...
For the members like Legendary, Hero, maybe the Sr. Member, it took years to gain enough activity, knowledge, experience, etc... to reach their rank. They were just doing their job and posting useful things here on the forum (of course there were also spammers that time as well), and they were waiting with patience for a long time.
Nowdays newbies and junior members are complaining after a week or a month because of the merits, and they want everything now, they can't wait...
I think the merit system still needs some time to become as efficient as it was planned to be, so we need to wait a bit more. Sooner or later people will find out what the merit system is about and spammers will understand that if they want to continue to rank their user up, they have to create quality content...

I still believe it is wrong to consider age, ethnicity, rank, or inside leg measurement when considering whether to award merits. Content is king, and presentation is the queen. If you marry the two, then you have a prince of a post.

In statistics, when you use a small sample size to determine your findings, you often go wrong, and the outcome is a biased view of reality that does not follow the norm.
I figure you’re trying to be ironic here and really pretending to bait us into a hammered response.

Now where you could have shinned is by proposing well though arguments as to how you suggest the flaws in the system should be fixed, first by enumerating them and then proposing a solution for each one. Worst case scenario, you’ll be clubbed over the head for your suggestion as I was months ago when I proposed some tweaks arguing for changes from the lower rank’s perspective. There at least you would be potentially adding value and, thus, perhaps find some sMerits on the way.

Better way to get merits is not to listen to anyone with less than 10 of them
By that you meant the Brand new, Newbies, and Jr. members; then how will they rank up?

No I mean people shouldn't listen to you, you have fuck all experience in gaining merits, so why should people listen to you? It is like taking trading advice from a loser trader.. doesn't make sense, the only thing people should do when you post is look at your previous posts and do the opposite!

Edit - prime example.. OP posts in Altcoin discussion, bounty threads - price discussion threads.. with gold like the below

Do you think crypto is our future? Why do you think it is so?
Yes, I think so because it's a product of the blockchain technology which is the most unbiased ledger out there. Cryptocurrencies are also borderless and that will suitable for users around the world.
Perhaps, I don't know of any rival out there presently.

and people like this wonder why they don't get any merits?

If you live on Rome do as Romans do. Smiley

Some members will try to bash you but they know inside that this happens  here for sure. I think we as a member have to act according to the forum rules only. If the people woning merits want you to praise the merit system, there is no point complaining about it (if merit is your main target).

After some time, you will realize all this is secondary.

I'd say more than that. I have gained 21 so far and I wouldn't give advice on merit to anyone, unless that person was a complete newbie. But for sure I wouldn't dare opening a post explaining people how to gain merit.

Sounds like "how to get merits starter pack"  Grin
On a serious note, don't expect merits every time you post and I think better not to think about merits at all when posting. Because the reason you are posting is to reply to a topic based on your understanding not because you want to earn merits. We don't want to see post's that beats around the bush just to make the post long.
