^^^ Seems to me that the dioxin poison has been proven to produce cancer. And this has been known for ages. It might be simple to apply what is already known in a court action.

Cool

I'm certain they do. But if the highly paid lawyers for the Norfolk Southern Railway argue that they can't be liable for a future illness that may not even strike the victim, hopefully there's still remedy for East Palestine residents. It'll be the games the lawyers will play, meanwhile the compensation of citizens will hang in the balance. The railroad corporations have a lot of legal protections apparently.

For now I would say it is about the residents of that town getting as much money as possible from those irresponsible people so they can afford to move from there before they start to suffer from serious deceases.

Even though the railroad company may have good lawyers, the public is against them and the damages are some blatantly obvious that a jury would likely rule in favor of the affected residents.

Right. The US is built on common law. Common law is the law of the people, not government statutes. It's too bad that people don't understand common law and how it works, or this trouble wouldn't exist in the first place.

Why not?

Because the railroad would make sure that something like this spill wouldn't happen. They would do it because the people might be able to destroy the whole railroad using common law... if the people only knew.

Government doesn't like the power the people have in common law. So they hide the fact of common law as much as they can.

I don't have any doubt the chemicals are carcinogens but for the sake of a civil suit, we'll only see the incidents of cancer increase only after two or three decades. So in what way will plaintiffs be properly compensated for the potential of getting cancer long after the company responsible ceases to exist?

Surely the company responsible will go bankrupt and perhaps some executives could be held criminally liable. Of course, trying to collect your due compensation when your impending cancer has not yet been identified is challenging. Maybe the compensation package will account for this.

This whole thing was probably an intentional operation. We don't know who it might be. But the railroad wouldn't want something like this to happen. Too much negative news and expense for them. So, maybe it was Antifa or BLM, or any of a number of Soros people.

18-inch pipe bomb found near railroad tracks in Philadelphia neighborhood

https://www.naturalnews.com/2023-02-21-pipe-bomb-found-near-railroad-philadelphia-neighborhood.html
The discovery comes after train derailments shook the country after these supposed accidents released hazardous and cancerous chemicals into the local environments, particularly in Ohio.

The PPD found the explosive device on Sunday, Feb. 19, at around 1:30 p.m., behind St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Holmesburg. Google Maps images of the area show that there is a rail line behind the church's massive cemetery, and that the area is right next to an elementary school.

PPD officials who spoke with local media outlets noted that a passerby found the pipe bomb and that the device was made with a PVC pipe filled with black powder and with capped ends.

Police immediately responded by shutting down a nearby road and calling in the Philadelphia Police Bomb Squad to safely take the pipe bomb away. They further noted that the device is now under analysis and bomb techs are working to disassemble it.

Pipe bomb could have endangered rail line

Father Edward T. Kearns, the parish priest of St. Dominic Church, noted that he does not believe the pipe bomb was directed at the church or against Catholics. More likely, he believes the person who placed the pipe bomb there was attempting to target the rail line itself.

"I don't think it was in connection to us," said Kearns. "It was behind us, not on our property, [but] on the other side of the railroad tracks." Kearns noted that, if the pipe bomb hadn't been a dud, it would have directly threatened the freight line that ran behind the church and the wider impact that would have caused following the catastrophic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.

This unfortunate event might have been an accident but the response of the US government is not commendable. The people should have been evacuated and environmental experts that are specialists in pollution management should have started their job immediately. The environmental effect of this pollution will last for a long time which might affect the economic, social, and health of the people, hence the people need to be treated and compensated accordingly. The American Environmental Protection Agency has threatened to fine Norfolk Southern up to $70,000 per day if they fail to take necessary actions.

I think people actually went through an evacuation process during the initial hours of the accident, but they were left to go back their homes because allegedly the agency you mentioned deemed air to be clean enough for the health of people, which does not add up with the report of the populace suffering of problems like short breathing and throat soreness...

Give all before death
I read about this incident there in the United States, it is completely shameful this kind of things are allowed to happen in a populated place.

I have seen videos on twitter shared by the residents, how the water is contaminated and the birds are dying, completely insane. Not even mentioning the material losses and the health concerns those people may have.

Whoever is responsible for this derailment needs to be held accountable and spend time behind bars. There should be cleaning squads and environmental experts in situ, as well.

When you look into this railroad chemical spill, you will see the large amount of negligence on the part of both government and the railroad. Ohio people are being poisoned.

Norfolk Southern Railway CEO Alan Shaw published a letter Thursday that read, “We will not walk away, East Palestine.”

But already, officials from Norfolk Southern ditched a meeting last night with worried East Palestine, Ohio, residents who were only searching for answers after a freight train with 150 cars (20 of which were carrying hazardous materials) derailed in the small town, resulting in a chemical disaster.
